i really gotta say, a really well done on this. Best B17 i've downloaded, it is pretty durable and easy to control. It even can glide from 150+ whatever from the ground without breaking the landing gear

i suggest the he 111

hmm, perhaps. I think I will make other large bombers first and then come back to this.

great creation you should think about redoing it with wood and glass

Can you make a B-36 Peacemaker?

A wonderful B-17 model, for sure added to my favorites.

thx for the instructions. They will be extremely helpful. :steamhappy:

I considered how well that would work, and it made me realize that my B-17 flies some 100kph slower than it should, so I will be updating its speed shortly. I also believe my B-24 is smaller in comparison. The B-29 flies much faster, so that has to be considered as well. I'd love have made all three.

im all over the B-29 suggestion. it would completely fill out your WW2 B-series planes (with the exception of the B-25, but it only has 2 engines so its inferior (jk lol)), and it would be so cool to get into a multiplayer game and have a B-29 flying alongside a B-24 and a B-17

Personally, I prefer the shell type, where a majority of the outside is made of scaling blocks. Sometimes the pieces connect to each other, but a lot of the pieces need to be held together with braces. This structure is hollow, and I find that it flexes less, because of the properties that scaling blocks have. A spine in this setup is not ideal because it often causes collision issues

I usually have six sided fuselages, sometimes eight if the fuselage is big enough, or it seems appropriat. Really the number of sides should be determined by what kind of plane you make, but I usually do six or eight. If the shape of the side does not fit the rectangle blocks well enough, I use wood panels. In shell types, I connect the panels to the scaling block. There is no intersection problems there because blocks ignore the hit boxes of whatever they're attached to. In Skelton types, wood panels have a small hit box, so their models can intersect a fair amount before they react.

@Didorsewell,No guides as far as I know, I learned this method by myself and from others. I can, however, tell you about how to make them. Typically, the realistic looking planes have two types of fuselages, skeleton with covering and shell.

Skeleton type fuselages have a spine that goes down the middle, typically made of ballasts of wood blocks. The outer layer of the fuselage is made of wood panels and scaling blocks. The panels have a smaller hit box, and causes fire to spread quickly. Typically, if the spine breaks, the whole section breaks. I find that this is better for smaller aircraft.

Is there a good guide on how to do a fuselage like that. (i just want to know!)

I’ll think about it :)

Deathslasher123 24 May, 2018 @ 12:09am
Just a suggestion, could you do a remake of your old B-29? Would be nice to see one of such high quality!
