@Karesi This mod doesn't permanently affect your unlocks. Either you have another mod like Give All Hats enabled, or More Hats is still enabled in your game launcher.

try to explain:i double click a hat witch unlock,and usable before,and my hero have NO hat ,and sometimes crash.

I figured out my problem: using Save Weapon (Give Weapon supplement) makes it so you can't unequip the hat The character will flash, but the hat stays on.

@765611989830**931 Got any examples? If a hat doesn't show up in a character's inventory, it's probably not compatible with that character.

Would this mod cause issues with Sienna getting her hair's flame in first person?

It's driving me and a Sienna main friend of mine insane that when we start missions, we'll have a floating flame RIGHT in front of us in first person that we can't make go away, and it obstructs our view considerably. Any ideas?

Ok, this just became my favorite mod for this game. Is it possible to do the same thing with skins? I like playing Saltzpyre's zealot class most but I really prefer the look of the bounty hunter. I love that I can wear the helmets with this one (let's be honest, that face needs to be covered). Do you know if it's possible?

Every hat that fits a character both in theme(aka aesthetics) and in function(aka mechanics, so no silly things) should be freely available on all the applicable characters.

The best example are those Merc Casques and a BH. No reason not to use them there.

Whitelist this please, just resrict hats to the appropriate characters for official realm if needed.

It's a win-win for everybody, more hats for each career, less work for the devs, triples the loot table of hats for each character, you have to be dumb or just a negative Nancy if you are against this.

This should be whitelisted.

But could Aussiemon maybe add, that unfitting hats are locked on the official realm? For example it should not be possible to equip Slayer hats on Elf, or unquip Waystalker hat. But it should be possible to wear Mercenary hats on Saltzpyre or unequip Footknight's helmet.
I guess that's the main reason why FS could have a problem with this mod. Because a faceless elf breaks the immersion a bit.

Anyway, keep up the good work. I hope this gets sanctioned.

REGARDING THE RECENT PATCH: While it was technically never a feature of this mod, Patch 1.1.0.4 prevents hats from being equipped on compatible characters in the official trusted realm. Portrait frames now officially work with all characters, so if you want to see this happen with hats as well, let Fatshark know with emails and feedback at the official forums [forums.fatsharkgames.com] .

Hmm thanks for replying and since you mention the skins aren't interchangeable from character to character, do you think it would work for the individual characters themselves i.e. Kerillian wearing her own skins from her 3 subclasses?

Fun little mod, but it most likely won't get whitelisted, sadly.

If it won't, you should do a stand alone "Frames" mod, that one should get whitelisted, it even should've been in the game initially.

@Dahvood It's not so simple. Hats have defined attachment points that are assumed to be able to connect to corresponding points on a career's base unit. Skins basically replace base units, so you'd have to take foreign skins into account when deciding if a hat is compatible with the active career. It gets even more complicated when you involve the attachment points of weapons, which also have to be matching to avoid crashing everyone in the lobby.

The TL;DR is that doing this for skins is hacky, not easy to automate, and makes the mod less likely to be sanctioned for the official realm.

@Aussiemon ive noticed that some characters do not have the option to wear the hats or headgear of some careers, would that not also apply to the armor? if it was done the same?

@Dahvood @Bartok the Red @Talaeyn the mustachio: Skins are problematic, because you'd basically be playing as that career with the items of your real career. It causes a lot of confusion, and there's risks involved with the differences betweeen the career base units. The pyromancer career, for example, doesn't have the same attachment points as the other Sienna careers. This means that you'd get crashes if you had a pyromancer skin equipped as an unchained.

Skins aren't likely to ever become a part of this mod, but I might look into it for just the VT1 skins at least.

@Burn Equipped (and unequipped) hats and frames are visible to unmodded players in the lobby without issue. Some hats may display strangely on other characters.
