I know you said you nerfed the weapons, but I didn't know you made them useless. Ofc the rocket launcher is the only one that isn't...
maybe, but don't count on it. I'm the kind of guy who goes from game to game, playing what ever my friend group plays, so I tend to only be motivated to work on this, when my friend group is playing starbound, but that is very rare, as unfortunately a lot of my friends don't like, or get easily bored of starbound. Sorry.
I'll be honest, idk when i will touch this mod again. I have alot of assets, and alot of half finished features, and ideas, from months ago. but currently I work as a "Temporary Worker" going from job to job, mainly manufacturing jobs to sustain my life... so I dont have time for this... at some point in the furture, I will probably pick this back up, but until then I wouldnt get too attached to seeing if this mod updates.
yeah, the armors for the covenant, are mainly just for appearance. sorry
as for the weapons becoming generic items, i am un familiar with something along those lines, could you send me a copy of your "starbound.log" preferably a log where you tried to make a weapon so i could see whats wrong.
there will be the new gun racks, and armor lockers.
i am also adding alot more of the "Special" helmets and other small things like having an oracle back pack, and what not.
i will be adding alot of props for decoration and other hings along those lines.
Also im playing around with weapon balancing as well as new weapons for the mod, and teirs for said weapons.

i also am looking into ships for elites and brutes, and a new ai for them, i am unsure of weather or not to treat this mod as cannon to before the elites split from the covenant, or still have them apart of it, since im thinking of having a prophet as the ai design for brutes, and may do the same for elites.
all in all, i would say after 3 weeks of having this aditional ccontent i am about 60% finished what i want done.
so i am sorry for those who are looking forward to all this, but it may be another week or two for it to be done. i am juggiling all of this with school, work, and playing with friends. so it isn't going along as fast as i originally thought, but when it does comes out, i hope i can be forgiven haha,
Oh and just a question, are you sure you chose the right sound file for the brutes? because they currently sound more like street fighter characters, the brutes
either way, i plan on rebalancing the weapons, as well as adding tiers currently im adding 4 new stations
1. Armor Locker, this will contain all the human armors. (use to be in the original Halo Ultra mod)
2. Covenant Armor Locker, this will have all of the elites and brutes armors.(new)
3. Gun Rack, this will contain all the human weapons. (use to be in the original Halo Ultra mod)
4. Covenant Gun Rack, this will contain all the covenant weapons.(new)

and so since the guns will have thier own 2 staions, i plan on making seperate tabs for different teirs of weapons, for eg.
Teir 0 weapons will cost around 100-1000 pixels plus a small amount of copper/iron bars 1-2ish and will have the stats of a good randomized common weapon.
Teir 1 will require having the tier 0 weapon plus 100-1000 more pixels and a small amount of tungston.
ect...
so hopefully that rebalance will fix the problem you are suggesting?

May i suggest one last thing tho? split the energy consumption of the beam rifle in 2 shots when you wear end game armor like the perfect generic armor, i find 1 shot no matter what armor i wear a bit overkill tbh
Side question, does that also mean you'll look into the weapons addon mod? cuz one weapon i been looking forward of getting a huge fire rate buff is the chaingun, if not thats fine! i'm just loving your work <3
The original creator of Halo Ultra gave me all of his assets (there is a shit ton, even for modding projects for other games) and im currently sifting through them and plan on changing alot of things now.
what was wrong? and how did you fix it?
the only thing requiring frackin universe is the BYOS compatibility, since frackin universe has a BYOS "Build Your Own Ship" feature, allowing you to make your own ship instead of being forced to use the human ship (in the case of elites and brutes) so i mean, i would highly recommend it! Frackin universe is a great mod, it changes the begining quests for a more imersive feel, in my opinion atleast. but to each their own.

if its single player then i'm not sure, can you grab your log file? in your starbound folder (right click it in the library then select "properties" goto the "local files" tab and click "browse local files") there should be a folder named storage, and in it should be "starbound.log" "starbound.log.1" and ect... make sure its a log file that contains this error (either try to make a elite/brute character again, or scroll to the bottom to find the error) and upload or copy paste to a paste bin, and send it to me
if its multiplayer its more then likely who ever you are trying to join or what server you are trying to join does not have my mod, or Halo Ultra v2, or frackin universe, or has a different version of one of the mods.
