It would be helpful if we could actually see an in-game preview

The idea is pretty good, but: 1) is there a compatibility with SkyTweak?, 2) is there a way a MCM?, 3) is there a non-percentage-based warning or version (for situations then you have 200 of 800 HP, which is 3-5 battleaxe swings)?

"When Draugr Battleaxes are cutting your health in half.." Made me have a good laugh for a minute or so. Great mod!

This mod is now available on Skyrim Nexus at http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/35648 . Notably, the Nexus version has several variants that offer different options for your Health warning thresholds.
Gray 4 May, 2013 @ 11:52pm
Thankyou for making this mod! I like it.
Twichigo 4 May, 2013 @ 12:29pm
Good, good. Thank you.
David Sid  [author] 4 May, 2013 @ 12:21pm
Update: The thresholds are now set at 50% and 25% instead of 67% of 33%.
regularDiscord 3 May, 2013 @ 1:00pm
YES

While I absolutely love the base idea behind this mod, I tend to agree that 50%/25% would be a better indicator of how dangerously low my health is, so that's my vote if you're going to hard-code the change.

Also, a sliders menu compatible with SkyUI's mod manager menu would be beyond wonderful. I don't know how difficult it would be, but I know that the mod "Wet and Cold" works with or without SKSE, and so does "Dragon Soul Relinquishment", the latter of which lets you adjust the values manually via console if you don't have or don't want to use SKSE and the SkyUI menu. No idea how they do it, but I just wanted to let you know it's possible to have it be optional, but it would be super snazzy if you managed it.

Love the mod as it is, too. Great work!
Twichigo 1 May, 2013 @ 1:44am
YES, I think 67% is a bit too early. Partially it comes from the old times when I got blurry vision and loud hearbeats after having my HP dropped below 20% in vanilla Skyrim, so when I hear I think I'm gonna die already, yet it's still 2/3 of my HP that is left. So then, 50%/25% (or rather 55%/30%) should be more convinient.
Sliders sounds like a good idea as well, but for as long as it doesn't make mod unstable, heavy or conflict with other possible mods. Having SKSE installed is a must in my opinion. SkyUI and other good mods depends on it and SKSE doesn't make anything worse, except you have a different launcher and that's it.
David Sid  [author] 30 Apr, 2013 @ 10:54pm
Making the mod more configurable is a good idea. I'm not sure how much I can do without requiring SKSE, but I'll look into it.

Even so, I still would like to know whether you and others would prefer 50%/25% as the default setting over the current 67%/33%.
Sly-Scale 30 Apr, 2013 @ 8:54pm
Perhaps there's a middle ground to be struck.
What if, in the options, you added sliders to change when you start getting health warnings? Role-players and action gamers alike would be happy.
Here's some examples: you can roleplay a wussy thief who gets blurry at 70% HP. Or, because you're a warrior who can fight an Ancient Dragon on 25% of your max HP, you won't need to do anything about your health until it gets that low.
David Sid  [author] 30 Apr, 2013 @ 11:17am
I need your opinions. I'm considering updating this to change the warning thresholds to 50% and 25%, instead of 67% and 33% (or in vanilla Skyrim, 20% and 10%). Is this a change you want to see? Please start your comment with "YES" or "NO" so I can quickly tally the votes in a few days. Feel free to provide additional thoughts and ideas, of course.
Spax 26 Apr, 2013 @ 12:24pm
Thanks, I'll be sure to try that.
David Sid  [author] 26 Apr, 2013 @ 7:44am
It might be possible to remove or alter the blurred vision effect by editing LowHealthImod. I haven't tried it myself, but if you or another developer wants to try creating a version of this with a different visual effect, that might be a good place to start.
Spax 26 Apr, 2013 @ 3:53am
This is really useful, but the blurred vision is annoying.
ScorpyX 25 Apr, 2013 @ 12:44am
not just improve - if player (like me) switch off hud system
he just dont have alternative information system for (HP \ mana \ stamina)
without visual elements info can be shows by means of "sound" and "fx" (sometimes "text")
and that is exactly the same as this mod gives = 5 star
David Sid  [author] 23 Apr, 2013 @ 6:45pm
Five stars, hell yeah! Thank you all for your positive feedback and comments! I'm glad this mod has been able to improve your game.
The Cyber System 22 Apr, 2013 @ 12:37am
Spotted this mod for this week. Well done! Not that it really makes a difference, but I APPROVE THIS MOD! Sounds a little like a better version of the COD-style low-health warning.
ScorpyX 21 Apr, 2013 @ 8:21pm
I play without hud - and that's exactly what I was looking for - thank you for this mod
NightEyes 21 Apr, 2013 @ 1:58pm
Oddly enough, this adds a layer of dificulty to the game. the blurry screen and distorted sounds makes fighting a lot more difficult.
ElderGamer1 21 Apr, 2013 @ 12:43am
Very good!..I like almost dying with your Mod..I have a much better chance of getting a potion to work at this level! thanks Thumbs up and Fav'd
David Sid  [author] 20 Apr, 2013 @ 4:23pm
It doesn't require any DLC, but works perfectly with all of them.
1k Andy 20 Apr, 2013 @ 4:05pm
Does this one work with Dawnguard?

very nice saves me in alot of fights
Arden☦ 19 Apr, 2013 @ 10:31am
So, according to this scale, I've been dangerously low on health more than a few times and didn't even notice. I guess I do over-exert myself :D
ExcaliburV 18 Apr, 2013 @ 5:03pm
I've played Fallout 3 and New Vegas several times, so the blurred vision isn't all that bad to me. It's really nice to have those kinds of warnings :D
David Sid  [author] 18 Apr, 2013 @ 3:31pm
Orogontorogon, it's true that you're not in much danger at 33-67% Health, but seeing that warning after one or two hits tells you the enemy isn't just doing scratch damage and might one-shot you with a power attack. Also, it can take a few seconds to recognize the low health warning, so an early warning is a good thing. That's why I prefer these settings.

Still, if you or someone who feels the same way wants something different, it's really simple to change in the Creation Kit. If you just want a fast heartbeat at 33% and no slow heartbeat, I think you can do that by setting fPlayerHealthHeartbeatFast and fPlayerHealthHeartbeatSlow both to 0.33. (The blurred vision is linked to the heartbeat effect.)
Orogontorogon 18 Apr, 2013 @ 2:49pm
It´s rlly helpful for the last 33% health but i think you don´t need blurred vision for 33-67%
Boleslaw Bold 18 Apr, 2013 @ 2:33pm
Thanks, I'll try it out. Seems like it'll help alot
Scientist 18 Apr, 2013 @ 2:25pm

David Sid  [author] 18 Apr, 2013 @ 10:59am
Holy crap, the mod just hit four stars. This is such a simple thing, I never imagined it would be my most popular mod. I really appreciate all your positive ratings and feedback!
Drug Cyborg, FBI 18 Apr, 2013 @ 10:43am
@Kinzuko: While being an invincible, overpowered metagamer has appeal for some, I find it more fun to just run in screaming at everybody and swinging a stupidly slow warhammer, or sneak up on somebody, unsneak, hit the "talk" button and kill them as soon as they pull their weapon out. That tends to get me hurt. So this would help me out. I also like realism in my fantasy, and realism states that you can't carry three hundred pounds and take ten axes to the chest at once. So this also helps with that.

So yeah. Stop telling other people how to play the game.
Kinzuko 17 Apr, 2013 @ 8:58pm
or just not suck at player skill bassed combat and suck it up.... or be like me and be a somminer archer with maxed out bow skill, maxed enchanting, and maxed sommining... you dont die and you deal stupid amounts of damage
Simon The Senpai 17 Apr, 2013 @ 11:46am
Great! Keep up the good work ;)
