TechnologicNick, hi, can you make it so that you can change the power of an electromagnet, like in a motor, and change the power using buttons or logic painted in a certain color?

Scripted parts work as a multiplier of the strength. Logic input is a logic gate, switch, button, anything with an on or an off state.

Can I use something else other then a engine, I recall it saying in the description in scrap mechanic "controlled by a engine or logic input" what kind of logic input

TechnologicNick there is a proposal to improve the mod: change the polarity by color, for example, I will paint a logic gate or sensor red, connect it to a magnet and the magnet will have south polarity, blue will have north polarity, and gray will have no polarity, It’s a long wait for the second chapter, but I want to study electromagnets now

You were correct. It should now be fixed. The warning might still show but the connection should now get made.

whenever i try to connect it to a gas/electric engine it says "max connections reached" but i can hook it up fine to a logic block or switch/button, is there anything im doing wrong?

There's no recipe and does not require fuel in survival mode.

I see what you mean. There's no way that's going to work well with sm physics. I'd probably have to fake forces that are being applied to be rotational. At that point you basically have a normal engine.

When I made this mod I never thought engines made from electromagnets would be a thing. I failed to build one myself before publishing. I balanced them to be used as joints for trucks or trains that can be enabled/disabled using logic.

I might rework this mod when mod support gets added to survival mode in chapter 2. I'll take your suggestion in consideration, but I can't promise anything.

Well, actually, not 1x1x1, but the anchor itself with a diameter of 2 blocks, but the magnets themselves are half a block or less, so that when the anchor rotates, the collision of the anchor magnets does not interfere

They're already 1x1x1 parts. I understand making them smaller will also allow for smaller engines, but that's not a priority of this mod.

hello TechnologicNick, is it possible to make compact electromagnets? to assemble the engine from electromagnets, more precisely, make two electromagnets for the engine armature, one with a semi-block collision, the second with a prism collision

Not in the current form of how survival mode mods are often done. I'd like it to work in survival mode too, but workshop mods currently offer no way to add recipes. I'm making a mod loader as a sideproject, which will allow workshop mods to register recipes, but this is currently far from being usable.

If I ever do get to making this mod work in survival mode, I plan on redesigning it so a magnatic field actually has two poles, instead of one uniform pole. I'd also like to introduce more mechanics.

Yes, just not the engine slider feature with level 1-5 engines. Old engines do work.
