I've disabled all my selfcontrol, I'll try it with "static map". maybe not that bad to keep those apart.
Shidan  [author] 10 Jun, 2022 @ 10:13am
Though you can also just, not do that. ;)

If one were the type to have no self control though, there are mods to completely disable the map. Like this one: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1836117083

Nice mod.
One issue, you can still click on the map and so compensate for your own lack of knowledge.

Thanks for making this! I still kinda 'cheat' by using the zoom-in thing, but I like this mod mostly because it disables the raid markers and such on the map.
Shidan  [author] 21 Aug, 2020 @ 12:11pm
That's going to be a thing. All UI is handled in the same file, so it's not possible for UI mods to combine automatically. A separate merged version would need to be made.
sucksass 21 Aug, 2020 @ 12:07pm
Does not work with Dark UI or Transparent UI. When below in the mod list it disables the UI mods resulting in vanilla UI.
Dampback 7 Aug, 2020 @ 12:14pm
This is a nice area between easy map and no map. thanks
Acuru 20 Jul, 2020 @ 11:33am
Sounds like a lot of fun! Trying it now with genesis :)
Shidan  [author] 24 Jan, 2020 @ 3:07pm
Not via a mod unfortunately. As the only way this even works is just by making the indicators invisible.

The way I usually get around it is to zoom all the way out on the map before closing it. When you open it again it will be all the way zoomed out, and thus not centered on any location.
Tao 24 Jan, 2020 @ 3:04pm
Is there any way to disable map centering on character?
Kau'met 2 Jan, 2020 @ 4:41pm
Just the mod I was looking for!
flarespeed 8 Aug, 2019 @ 12:03pm
My mods disappeared from kenshi yesterday but i managed to get them to show up by unsubbing from one, waiting a minute, then resubbing. I probably just got lucky tho.
Shidan  [author] 8 Aug, 2019 @ 7:52am
It's a Steam issue unfortunately. Games all across the workshop are having problems like that. Until Valve fixes it, not much can be done on our end. :/
McLofty 8 Aug, 2019 @ 7:43am
Huh? It's suddenly gone from my mod-list. refreshing and new download won't fix this. Have you changed anything recently that broke it? Or have I broked something?
Shidan  [author] 4 Aug, 2019 @ 2:20pm
No, unfortunately not. As the only way to do this mod was to make the icons transparent. Technically speaking they're still there, you just cannot see them.

If you want a compass though, look at the sky. The moons in the sky never move, and are always sitting in a roughly NE direction. They are my compass when lost. :)
flarespeed 4 Aug, 2019 @ 2:10pm
Would it be possible to instead of hiding the arrow just make it so it stayed in one place on the map, so you could use it as a compass?
Darkwood 3 Mar, 2019 @ 8:33am
Does the star rise in the North and set in the south? Thats what it looked like earlier to me, couldnt tell
AimAce 3 Mar, 2019 @ 1:14am
How did you disable the raid warnings from popping up? I'm trying to disable them on the Dark UI mod.
Darkwood 2 Mar, 2019 @ 12:52pm
Yeah... it is a little tough to get lost, though the mod makes exploring the wild and ruin seeking very fun
Shidan  [author] 2 Mar, 2019 @ 12:08pm
Unfortunately not. Would be cool though.
Darkwood 2 Mar, 2019 @ 12:07pm
is it possible to remove the ability to chart course by clicking map?
Nuclearmonkees 25 Sep, 2018 @ 7:29pm
Didn't realize how much I needed this mod until I started playing with it.
Temper 3 Jun, 2018 @ 1:39am

aglorius 1 Jun, 2018 @ 5:26am
Got it worked out:) Learned me some GIMP too:):) Thanks man:):):)
Shidan  [author] 29 May, 2018 @ 11:19pm
That's actually not surprising when I think about it, all the UI elements have their appearance in the same file, so changing it at all will override any other UI mod.

All I did was open up "Kenshi_UI.png" located in Kenshi\data\gui\gfx and make the textures for both markers transparent. For any other UI mod, you'd have to open their version of the file and do the same. Downloaded mods are located in Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\233860
aglorius 29 May, 2018 @ 10:05pm
Hello again:) I just discovered this mod and the Minimal UI mod aren't compatible. Switching load order "fixes" each mod respectively. Can this be addressed? I didn't see where I could edit UI in the editor, else I'd have tried this myself. You mind explaining how you made this? Thx for any pointers:)
Stake From JateFarm 29 May, 2018 @ 1:32pm
This sounds scary.
Vegash 27 May, 2018 @ 3:32am
I didn't actually know i needed this....but i think i'll never take it out of my modlist ever again. Thank you Shidan.
aglorius 26 May, 2018 @ 11:54am
Again, Thank You :D Appreciate this so much.
