Really liked it, but, ever thought abou adding some particles? I'm pretty sure this would look even better if the gem had some kind of shine of its own.

It's a cool idea, but I think it'd be better if the gem was a little smaller. It'd also look much cooler if it were translucent to get a see-through glass look going on. That or some kind of reflective glimmer. Anything to make it look less plastic-y.
