- Bulldoze it
- I broke the sound barrier

As an idea, has anyone tried a functional version by incorporating hidden (invisible) trees within the network as subbuildings?
MisterHamstring 13 Apr, 2020 @ 10:09am
Doesn’t reduce noise

That you so much for these networks. Could you make a really tall soundbarrier? ( https://www.hollandscherm.nl/dynamics/modules/SFIL0200/view.php?fil_Id=5605&thumb_nr=21 )
Vimes 12 Jul, 2018 @ 12:33pm
Thanks for trying anyway

Btw. I tried all what i thought could work. Every time i failed. So functional sound barrier isnt possible. At least till CO makes improvement here, but i really doubt.
Overlord 11 Jun, 2018 @ 6:55am
Use trees for now it will look great if you use some narrow tall trees like conifer or poplar tree. Also you should realise that noise produced by car traffic is not that bad and citizens wont complain about it. Problem with noise pollution happens mostly because you have train (115) or metro station (50) close to their homes. In my opinion heavy used road or highway produces about (30 in game units of noise).

you could try to make a functioning version, it would be very helpful and possably popular to the community
chrisjenx 10 Jun, 2018 @ 6:47am
Trees block sound now, so as of parklife update I would hope there are some additional sound attributes?
max.grissemann 10 Jun, 2018 @ 12:09am
Yes please make a functional version!!!
<Insert name here> 9 Jun, 2018 @ 2:57pm
as long as you got trees around it i guess its funtional
Vimes 8 Jun, 2018 @ 2:45am
Thanks for the clarification, decorative will be greatly appreciated by many people I'm sure.

For me it would have been a functional barrier which would have been of interest.

Great that you have added tha tin the description :)
jPRO93  [author] 8 Jun, 2018 @ 2:10am
Added to description, its decorative thing for now. Well, noise was really long time in the background, no one was caring about that. Thanks for Park Life update and their new mechanics, that finally trees reduce noise!
Vimes 8 Jun, 2018 @ 2:03am
Thanks for the info on the mod.
So at the moment it is decorative rather than functional.
Noise and its effective control, from a mod point of view, seems a bit challenging when trying to create a barrier rather than reduce the noise to a single building etc.

Well done with the link :)

@Lextacy Thanks much!
Yea workshop getting so much awesome assets (and all other) that soon, it will be hard choose between best of best. I am sooooo happy for this awesome community <3
jPRO93  [author] 8 Jun, 2018 @ 1:32am
@Vimes Link fixed, thanks!

I made some tests and without success. There is one more option. Make sound barrier from "road template". In that way, i have big hopes that it really can decrease noise pollution, how it should.

But I am not sure how many people would use that.
Vimes 8 Jun, 2018 @ 1:24am
FYI You need to take a look at the link for the mod Remove Decoration Sprites, as it links to the road anarchy one :)

Is this as effective as trees and could it be used as a double barrier and thus be twice as capable at reducing noise pollution.?

Thanks
Lextacy 7 Jun, 2018 @ 8:38pm
wow all these new sounds walls hitting the books this week. You got Arnods walls here that are hot, Badi DEA s new network walls that have 3 new sounds walls ! And my updated suburban sound wall with a nature theme. I think we make a great asset team ! :D
jPRO93  [author] 7 Jun, 2018 @ 6:09am
@Overlord: Indeed :D:D
Yea, used same texture for 32m network as for 2m barrier, thats why its streched. I wanted know how it could work, when connecting or so.. At the end I think i will use like 128x1024 whats quiet perfect for this size network. Only i am not sure about those holes at bottom.
Overlord 7 Jun, 2018 @ 5:38am
Saving props is the main idea. Although I dont understand modding at all the texture seems to be in lower quality than on prop. Or it is the same texture but stretched a lot? Weird feeling to write in English when we both are from Czech republic :D Never know which language choose when I'm exchanging messages with you on the workshop page :D

@aubergine18: I dont have Fences category, since it comes with paid content of Park life.
@Avanya Yea, i think it will works only with road template. What is shame. Well, in worst case, i can make another polygon on ground with simple text, and you can sunk it under ground. But iam really not sure aboude demand.
@Overlord Yea, i agree. And i think this isnt that needed.
Anyway here you have first test of barrier network: https://imgur.com/gallery/j8bONZ0 But i have to use much bigger texture than on prop, other hand this way you can save many props because its terrain conforming/elevatable and you can "draw" how long you want.
Overlord 7 Jun, 2018 @ 5:09am
Probably not. Everybody has the option to build trees behind this wall and make "double wall" also noise produced by roads is not that bad (like metro or train station). Also noise from cars on highways is not that bad either. You can focus on more important things :)
Avanya 7 Jun, 2018 @ 5:09am
Could be that only roads support trees reducing noise. Too bad. :( Grass and bushes might as well be used in most cases if we have to place them next to the barrier - an invisible tree might get confusing to use since you can't see them. :P
leftbehind 7 Jun, 2018 @ 5:09am
There is a new "Fences" category under landscaping tools - any chance the asset could be displayed there rather than water tab?
jPRO93  [author] 7 Jun, 2018 @ 5:05am
I made test, when attached to the network, it somehow lost that function. At the moment i am not sure if its worth release simple invisible tree, to use right in game :X
Overlord 7 Jun, 2018 @ 4:24am
Every tree has same effect reducing noise pollution. Not sure about grass (tree assets). In my opinion if the tree wont be visible anyway I would use some vanilla ugly tree :D Vanilla trees were updated so they reduce pollution for sure.

jPRO93  [author] 7 Jun, 2018 @ 3:17am
Exactly, I thought I make special invisible triangle as one tree and easily attach with repetetition on the network. I am not sure if every tree has same value how much sound can "destroy" or if its random...
Avanya 7 Jun, 2018 @ 3:13am
I guess it could maybe be faked with an invisible tree. Not sure how they work on roads now, but they are supposed to dampen sound. So adding loads of an invisible tree might do it - if size plays a role it can just be a large box with a full alpha texture. :P Not sure if that was what you were thinking, but that's what popped into my head. :P
jPRO93  [author] 7 Jun, 2018 @ 3:11am
@Avanya: Thanks much! Now only we need function to divide sound. I have one idea, but really not sure how it will work.
jPRO93  [author] 7 Jun, 2018 @ 3:09am
@Overlord: Nejsem si úplně jistej, ale můžu to určitě zkusit. Network tiling vždycky zapomenu připíchnout, díky!
Overlord 7 Jun, 2018 @ 2:59am
Avanya 7 Jun, 2018 @ 2:23am
Yay! No more fiddling with props to make these - also this looks really really nice! :steamhappy:
