Note: Warhammer 2 launch pad mod manager Flags this as outdated. Dunno if thats the norm. I will report back if I get issues (playing as Imrik, wanting Sisters of Avelorn after confederate).

ok, this is funny. I really enjoy this mod. especially when playing as Teclis or Tyrion. But... I played a Nagaryth campaign today, and I think this mod disables their faction specific units for them XD

Yeah I think you would need the DLC now that I think about it, but you can always check.

Get the console command mod, quickly start a campaign, use the command to move your army, have the city within view so you can click on it, and then use the command to take over the region and then see what buildings are available for you. Tbh Idk, but I don't think you can bypass buying the DLC(unless you have a mod that copies EVERYTHING needed(as if you were making the DLC yourself) but yeah, don't do that cause that's probably illegal lol.

hmmmm.....tbh I'm not sure. Take Mixu's mod for instance that adds custom legendary lords, I never bought the Beastman expansion but for some reason I could start a campaign with a custom lord and custom units(essentially if you make a mod that is just a carbon copy of the units, you would essentially play beastmen without having to pay for the DLC).

But that would obviously get you in trouble if you get found out. So I never went past turn 2 before chickening out and realizing what I just discovered.

For this....idk tbh, I think it might work, or it might not, cause it's not like you NEED Alarielle to have access to the units, you need the building..not sure really if the building is somehow locked behind the DLC "wall"...I think I remember that the additional units mod and Mixu's together had their own custom buildings, think it was an overhaul, maybe SFO? so that's why it had custom buildings and units....yeah...

Yes. Beause it switches or adds the culture of 'high elves' to those special buildings, instead of the ownership only being for the sub-culture of alarielle's faction

So, if I'm understanding this right, when I buy the Queen and the Crone DLC, play as Tyrion, and then confederate with Alarielle, I'll then be able to build the unique buildings she's got and recruit tree men?

Don't expect anymore updates from me, I've got nearly 2000 hours into the game, 10 or 20 of which is from modding. And I'm just burned out. And wanted to take a break until WH3 comes out, when it does I'll redo all the little mods I have.

For the person who said they couldn't build the aesanar camp as Alith, I had started an Alith Anar campaign and used cheats just to check different regions(took ownership of them) and see if the buildings were available and they were, so idk what to tell you(but you can just play the game like normal and only activate the mod after you've taken over the capital cities of the other DLC High Elf factions to gain access to their buildings and build them and continue on from there, by that point between the size of your empire, your gold, and global recruitment and bonuses it shouldn't be an issue anymore to not be able to build the aesanar camp everywhere(the vanilla one btw), but I doubt it I checked............due to take note, even the vanilla aesanar camp CANNOT be built anywhere, it's restricted to certain locations so make sure you know that it is indeed a mod issue before you say it is. But anyway that would be the workaround, activate the mod when you need it.

Thanks for your help Marcus. All the companies work fine now. All the saves are loadable. Moreover I have no problems with my Tor Yvresse company. All things work fine for me. For anyone reading Triumph and NoMalarkey's comments are not directed at Windlord but a different user who posted here(deleted his comments) upset about a mod update that wasn't save game compatible(no longer the case since I gave it another shot and updated the mod the way I wanted in a way that is save game compatible)

wow. I started like 218421412 campaigns due to this thing. Would never though on telling a moder to revert it hahahah. U guys know that u can play campaigns without mods right? I mean he isnt getting paid for this and yet he shares what he does with us. U should be ashamed ^^

Geez, it's almost like these are mods made by random people in their spare time. Bugs will happen. Report them to the creator and get on with your life. Demanding special treatment because your precious modded campaign was damaged by a free mod is beyond entitlement.

@Windlord alright I reverted back to the previous version and updated it with the changes that I wanted originally, I figured out what was wrong. The only issue left is that when you hover the mouse over tor yvresse building chain there's a black empty box in the UI.

Sorry for the inconvenience so far, there were some things I needed to fix before which I managed to now for the most part. I just didn't like the idea of it being a bit broken like that so I opted for an alternative solution(in this case I'm referring to the mercenary building, scrapping it and just going for the simpler solution of using the existing vanilla building of the aesanar camp and giving it to all high elves) were things would be presented in a nicer format, I don't like half baked mods afterall, but yeah things should be a lot closer to my ideal now.

Could it possible to return previous version of your mod? Or make another version? I just need 5 turns to complete the company. I understand It's not a big problem in global scale but I don't have enough free time to restart the company again. I use save game compatible mods and I thought your mod was one of them. Sorry for my persistence.

if you've played Calador you know those are only recruitable as campaign rewards for quest battles, it's a different system to just sharing a building type through a common culture group and that building giving you access to certain units, it's quest related, I could make them recruitable through other means but that would make no sense when you pause to think about it, it would entail scripts which I do not know how to write to make some exceptions and only allow recruitment of those dragons maybe through the ROR system after a confederation, but like I said, scripting, idk how.

There's definitely lore from earlier editions of the wood elves using animals in battle - not necessarily the exact same ones as Drycha gets but the underlying logic of bears fighting for them would surely apply to say a wolf (source: https://forums.totalwar.com/discussion/270085/wood-elves-animal-handlers )

I try to do things that would make lore/gameplay sense and at times SOME lore sense while taking game balance into account(why I limited the camp buildings for example). But having said that, I'll look into it, see what the deal is with these units and if they have ever served outside of Drycha's command.

Could you add functionality so that Wood Elves can recruit Drycha exclusive units in the Gryphon Wood (maybe not the malevolent tree spirits, but all her beast units maybe?)

the mod simply gives ownership for certain buildings or main cities to specific factions or cultures, nothing beyond that. you can download the PFM and see for yourself. Maybe there's something I'm overlooking(never noticed what you're claiming btw, going off memory though so you could be right), maybe it doesn't matter that you hold a certain city, depending on the faction you get a certain number of building settlements? no that doesn't make sense, are you sure you have no other mod doing this. I'll take a look either way.

Just checking but it looks like this mod also triggers Averlorn's building limit for Gaean Vale.
Playing as Eataine and after confederation I only have 7 build slots available of the possible 9.
Is this confirmed to be a feature of this mod or is there any way around it?

of course, this only affects the units of back then and nothing has changed , for example the main thing would be that they are no longer recruited from the same buildings. Maybe when WH3 comes out I'd have to redo the mod since buildings might be different and such but nah this will work regardless of DLCs or updates so long as they don't change this older content.

what happens in eltharion confederates every one first. its kinda hard to confederate other factions when the destined faction confederates every one. if you confederate eltharion at that point do you get all the buildings.

it's a mod that came after mine, with the exact same idea. Now mine changed in response to that one drastically but, w.e I didn't find out until years later.
