ding dong ding dong BANANA PHONE.
Also, I should mention though I still feel the outlines don't fit, I didn't give you enough credit for the rest of the spritework. In fact they kinda distracted me from it a bit at the time... The palettes for the weapons are decent...
So you do you man. (Personally I think you should tackle more light based weapons. Those light sabers in your other mod look really nice.)
I made a typo in my last comment. Was gonna fix it, but James already replied. Now you'll never be able to unsee it.
Hm. Did my comments not sound calm? I didn't use caps or anything... I was just sharing criticism with a mod author. Rofl
must get mad
this mod ruin starbound workshop
because it has
the line
i̶ ̶d̶i̶d̶n̶t̶ ̶w̶r̶i̶t̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶u̶r̶a̶n̶i̶u̶m̶ ̶h̶e̶x̶a̶f̶l̶o̶u̶r̶i̶d̶e̶ ̶d̶i̶d̶
You may not care, and some end users might not care (but given some of the mod's they're usually interested in that's not shocking), but there are users that do. It affects how your content is received (or not received since they wouldn't use it) whether you can see that or not.
Have a nice day.
But if I did use mods (I'm a modder. I generally only sub to mods for testing purposes), I wouldn't use it because of the mentioned style difference.
This snowflake practice so many modders fall into is a ridiculous practice. Modders don't have to break the game's style to stand out. We can make plenty of things that fit in the game but still stand out. (and of course it looks fine to you. YOU made it. This is why we need criticism in the first place... Because we often can't see the issues ourselves.)
That's a legit criticism. Look at any sprite in Starbound, and you can see it. Not a single sprite in vanilla outside icons uses a black outline. It's not "unique". It just makes your spritework stick out like a sore thumb to anyone who actually cares about the game's artstyle.
If it fit just fine, we wouldn't have to point it out. It quite literally looks like someone's shoved icons onto weapon handles. XD
Unless you intended to make it absolutely not fitting the Starbound spriting style, using black outlines is a big no-no
