Yeah indeed,

actually I am really happy about that. I mean the Mod API is fairly limited and I was not able to do it like the new update will do it.

So one mod less to take care off :-)

Looks like this is going to go into vanilla! Good job

Nice work, this seems like a really cool idea, I've wanted a way to prevent respawn teleporting and I think this will work nicely :)

Hi, today I found the time to check the other mod out. It was fairly simple to determine which medbays need to be ignored.

I pushed an update I would be happy if you could verify for me if its also works fine on your server.

That's extremely helpful. I had to remove Independent Survival from my server recently due to outcry about respawning in the planet's core, I'd love to be able to add it back safely.

Ahh thats indeed a bit of info that is helpful.

I am only checking if the medbay has a place where the Player could respawn and if its enabled and what not to do so. If the Medbay is not meant to be respawned at the location it respawns you could be anywhere. for example at the centerof the planet.

So Ill check the other mod. Maybe I find some info there on how to ignore these medbays, or even filter them from the respawn list. I am not sure If I am able to do so right away but Ill definetly take a look at it.

I tracked some of the suit grids (Invisible ships that represent your suit's refinery, assembler, fuel and medbay), and it seemed that they either stopped following the player after death and fell in to the center of the planet, or just went to the center since the player was now null.
You can't normally respawn at a suit medbay, they just refuse to allow it. I don't know if that particular bit of info is useful, but any bit could help.

Hello Darian, thank you for your report.

if there is a Medbay inside a planet and that Medbay is the closest to the location you died at, you will be teleported there. So that sounds working as intended.

However:

I wonder why there are Medbays inside a planet in the first place. It sounds like a bug in the Independent Survival Mod but since I dont know that mod, Ill check it out.

Does this behavior also occur if you die right next to a regular medbay, or only if you are quite far away from your regular medbays (like on the other side of the planet)?

I am not sure if I am able to generally blacklist these Medbays, but I would assume if you have a "Suit Medbay" with you that it should also be targeted by the mod to basically spawn you at that medbay as its on your suit and therefore closest to year death location.

So I would be very happy with a bit more information so I can figure out the cause and solution for the problem.

Do you suppose you could blacklist the Suit Medbay from the Independent Survival mod? There are a bunch of little medbays in the center of the planet after you die with it, and this mod sends you to them for some reason.

Thanks!

when you dont have any medbay you are forced to spawn in a new ship or space suit.

same when your last medbay is destroyed

Very cool! What happens if it's your first spawn though?

Awesome! I have been waiting for a mod that does this, tested on DS and it works well, thank you :)
