Thanks so much for this mod, the game looks so much better with it and somehow runs better too, constant 70 fps and above all the way through battles whereas before my game would go down to 40-50 in the heat of battles while zooming in and out. Maybe the game constantly unloading and loading textures slows down the game? Though as previously stated, 4 stacks is impossible without 30-40 fps, otherwise ZERO performance loss.

Blows my mind that the game needs a mod for this, it should have been in the settings from the start. Couldn't play the game without this, thanks again.
TLDR: This mod saves the day.

It still works partially. I only tested it more closely on Empire (playing as Huntsmarshal's Expedition), the new units (eg Huntsmen etc.) it doesn't work on, and greatswords for some reason neither.

As far as I could tell it worked on everyone else. So yeah, an update to this or the other LOD mod would be good for the missing units.

Hey, I have a question, do you know where I can find low poly textures for the players Reiksguard units? I have Dryrains installed but I don't think Dryrains changes the Reiksguard unit so much? I love your mod but optimally I'd just want to remove low poly textures for my own units, and I basically only play as HE and Empire. I found the low poly textures for most imperial units, but not Reiksguard, only non-player imperial faction Reiksguard.

1. Open the mod with pfm.
2 Go to db/variants.tables
3. Remove every reference in the 'low_poly_filename' column.

If you have trouble finding mod pack files check steamapps/worshop/content/594570.
They used to be in the main game folder but this was changed.

An high end GPU won't help much. You need a very powerful CPU.

As long as they do not change the variants table. I use Dryrain's reskin mods myself and in some of his reskins he readds the low poly files in the table and in some reskins not.

The Empire provinces reskin for example adds low poly references to some units of each province. You'll have to manually remove those.

Was about to comment about what @Rafio addressed, I second this, would really like such a mod!

If so, would you consider making one that addresses the campaign map only (if that is a possibility)?

Great work man thanks! Do you know if it's possible to remove low rez textures on the campaign map? Even a slight zoom out changes the textures to ugly ones. Drives me insane :(

Can you make a version of this that doesn't effect unit model LOD, but extends the LoD on certain effects that go missing? The ghastly trail of certain horsemen, the fire trail of Chaos's chosen horsemen, things like that. It's really annoying they disappear if I zoom out.

1. Unsubscribe to the 2 original mods (Total Unit resize II and Uniforms)
2. Unsubscribe to my mod.
3. Install the 2 custom mods (Total Unit Resize II and Uniforms) linked in top post. Put them in the data folder.

So let me make sure I get this right: Which combination should I use again? Assuming I want to keep using the same reskin and resizes as before. I see you made custom versions in your last post, so do those work with this mod? Not sure if you're referring to those ones in your earlier post where you instructed me to unsubscribe this one as well.

I found the issues. The 2 mods you're using both edit the same variable table. Since both mods edit the same table they are also conflicting with eachother. I have no idea what mod get's priority over the other in the mod load order. They do work together tough.

I uploaded a custom version for each mod for you. Keep in mind they will be out of date next patch. And while the mod manager will say they are out of date now they will work. Just enable out of date mods and you should be fine.

You might want to check out the resized version of my mod and Dryrain's Greenskin Reskin in the future. Both of them work together with no conflict.

Put the 2 custom mod packs I gave you in the Total War: Warhammer 2 data folder together with all the other pack files. Don't forget to unsubscribe my mod and the 2 other original ones.

Thanks for double checking for me, I greatly appreciate it.

I'm not using any custom units and I have one resize mod in use (Daelin's unit resize). As for overhauls I'm not 100% sure if anything qualifies for what you suspect might cause conflicts or not. I'm not exactly sure what to look for but I'm not using Radious or Steel Faith or any other massive overhauls like that.

The other thing that could certainly cause issues at least in my mind is Uniforms And Heraldry For Greenskins, a reskin mod which I'm also using. Could it be that the reskin mod causes a conflict? I wish I knew more about these things...

Double checked the pack file and every low poly model reference has been removed.
It could be a mod conflict. Are you using an overhaul mod or an unit mod (resize, custom units) at the moment? If so, can you list these mods? I can check if they aren't editing the variants table.

Concerning the animation lod. I think they are located in meta.anim files themselves. They are not able to be edited as far as I am aware. My mod simply removes the low poly references.
Monsters also still have a lower detail at distance but this is also done in a file which cannot be accesed at the moment.

For now all units which can be edited with the current method have been edited. This might change in the future as I'm constantly looking for new ways.

Yeah saurus are another noticeable one but with orcs their axes are not moving a lot, the blade parts just seem to become much larger and bloated. Animation lod or not, It is really easy to tell when you are hovering past a long line of orcs that the ones further away look almost like different units.

In fact it would be so nice if someone found a way to affect the animations too.

Are you sure it isn't the animation lod you are noticing? It's more obvious on some races then others. Lizardman saurus for example have this issue as well.

What happens is, when you get at a certain distance the entire unit syncs. They also adopt a new idle standing animation. So that weapon wich was at a certain angle can suddenly be at an different angle.

For me at least it seems at least Orc units still change noticeably when moving the camera far back. The mod seemed to work fine for Dwarfs and Dark elves though. With basically any orc units their weapons turn into blobs and I can see a change in the models too. Worth looking into? Sorry for the messy format, I'm tired af.

Alright guys I added a movie pack file in mod description to remove some weapon effects which would instantly pop up at a certain distance. Changing vfx files only seem to work when they are in a movie pack. I can be wrong on this tough.

Units affected:
Grail Knights, Grail Guardians, Royal Pegasus Knights, Royal Hippogryph knights, Knights of the Blazing Sun, The Fireborn, and the Warriors of Dragonfire Pass (These are the worst offenders)

The Firebark Elders are a tough nut to crack as I can't seem to pinpoint it's exact vfx file.
I think it's in the animation file itself? There is an easy fix for that but it would make it incompatible with mods that change it's value. Anyways this a work in progress.
