Somebody needs to make a version that uses vanilla terrains. I've modified my copy to use Hardcore SK terrains and it works (more or less) fine. It's a bit too bad that volcanic islands don't create flooring properly, but oh well. It's the absolute best island generator available for Rimworld.
Remi 14 Dec, 2019 @ 10:24am
Please make the map gen its own mod. pleeease
Beornvig 11 Aug, 2019 @ 11:26am
For me this mod (which I love) sometimes prevents event maps from generating. I'll send a caravan to a prisoner rescue location, for example, and when I get there, no map is generated and the incident is gone. When I disable this mod and go from a previous save, the map generates properly. Might be caused by some conflict with another mod I suppose, but disabling just this mod made it work properly (but also screwed up some of my colony map).

U can use this version with the newest version of the game, just activate it, i run it just fine, its red in the mod list but seems to work just fine
Duke Flapjack 7 Jun, 2019 @ 1:49pm
I do really wish that THIS version would get updated to 1.0. I don't like the new version. It's a lot more complicated and not very compatible with much. This version seems to be a good drop-in replacement for Nature's Pretty Sweet included in Hardcore SK.
Stormblind 31 Mar, 2019 @ 3:25pm
Seems to be easily updatable for 1.0 simply by changing the patch # in the About tab of the mod from 0.19 to 1.0.0. Been playing on a Cave Oasis map with no problems!

Still missing the new biomes from the 1.0 mod, but i haven't figured out the steps on how to make that biome only 1.0-able.

Tested a load on every biome from this mod, and they all spawn fine in combination with Rainbeau Flambeau's "Realistic Planet's" mod. Didn't play for long on any of them, so I cannot speak to the "Flood" comments @Fawar made, but the Cave Oasis has been super stable so far.
Hans 13 Feb, 2019 @ 7:59pm
Over millenials, do you mean millenia?
Fawar 21 Jan, 2019 @ 7:10am
@axi Spoke to soon, meaning the flooding of all cavern in the first 3 min of a game? :(

Anyone has a fix for that kinda sad over here
axi 20 Jan, 2019 @ 10:31pm
Spoke too soon, Update 1.0.2150 broke it. RIP.
"The" SeanMacLeod 19 Jan, 2019 @ 5:43pm
Then I stand corrected! :cybereye:
axi 19 Jan, 2019 @ 11:47am
For what it's worth, this mod functions perfectly fine with 1.0, so if you still want to play with the new biomes while Lanilor and company work on the new version, you can safely ignore the "outdated version" warning and use this mod.
"The" SeanMacLeod 27 Dec, 2018 @ 9:39pm
@Nuclear Dawn
This one won't work in RimWorld version 1.0.
Daddy Down Under 27 Dec, 2018 @ 9:34pm
whats the difference between this mod and the other terra project mod??
Lanilor  [author] 22 Dec, 2018 @ 3:06pm
Surprise! The Terra project public beta release is here as an early christmas present (or very early new years present if you don't celebrate christmas).

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1598637926

Keep in mind it is a beta release, so there may be all kinds of problems and some unfinished stuff. If that's fine for you, have fun playing and testing!
Remi 21 Dec, 2018 @ 4:01pm
Please update, this looks amazing
<Insert name here> 17 Dec, 2018 @ 12:41am
super pumped for 1.0 this mod is one of those essential mods for sure cant play rim without it hyaha, as always nice work sir
123nick 16 Dec, 2018 @ 9:19pm
nice to hear about the progress of the mod; hearing about the sheer size of it relative too the main game is really amazing, this mod is very ambitious. im almost certain its gonna be the combat extended of terrain and the world itself! and probably as famous too :P

maybe the 1.0 version should be its own new workshop item?
Ulysses 16 Dec, 2018 @ 3:00pm
Is there a link to download the current version off of dropbox/github?
Felruja 16 Dec, 2018 @ 1:22pm
Damn thats a big mod if i've ever seen one, keep up the good work man! looking foward to the 1.0 release, but dont rush it, we'l wait as long as it takes :)
Top Enda 15 Dec, 2018 @ 9:57pm
Just wanted to pitch in and say that I'm really looking forward to this mod :D Best of luck with rl stuff and development :)
Lanilor  [author] 15 Dec, 2018 @ 4:36am
It's fine if you ask. At least you are one of the few people who really did support me.

I had a lot of rl stuff to do last week and also next too, but still spending a lot of my free time to work on this mod. It is now at around 10% of the code size of the main game, so you may get an idea of how much work there was/is to do.
Some good news: The main coding is mostly now done. I'm mostly testing, bugfixing and doing a lot of improvements and finetuning. There are also still some textures missing, but I guess I can do some form of broader or public testing soon and if it goes well, release it.
123nick 14 Dec, 2018 @ 8:45pm
sorry if im being annoying, but, is development still goign strong? i know i asked this 2 weeks ago, and honestly im just asking cause this is the mod im patiently waiting for the update before i start playing 1.0, and its always interesting hearing about whats done and what still needs to be done :)

have you thought of previewing some of the new features in a post similar too what you did before?
Ulysses 11 Dec, 2018 @ 4:13am
Where can I download a non-steam version?
Felruja 9 Dec, 2018 @ 4:52pm
Hey man, gunna follow @123Nick 's lead and offer my help too. if ya need anyone to translate anything, just send me a message, i can do spanish and portuguese :)
blank 9 Dec, 2018 @ 4:18am
This looks really sick!
Finally I can have my all cave dwarf fortress!
Ulysses 6 Dec, 2018 @ 6:24pm
Is there a dropbox for this version?
Lanilor  [author] 29 Nov, 2018 @ 2:24pm
Thanks for the offer. The easiest would be through discord. Just ping or DM me there (same name) https://discord.gg/rimworld
LuneatiC 29 Nov, 2018 @ 1:26pm
Hello! I just discovered this mod and the feature previews seem fantastic so far! From your last comment I understand you're short of artists, is there any way I could reach you (other than workshop comments that is ._.) to maybe offer some help? Not a proffesional by any means but maybe I could help speed things up none the less. Looking forward to the mod, seems like such an improvement over the base-game mechanics!
123nick 27 Nov, 2018 @ 2:09pm
Good to hear! Best of luck on the mod
Lanilor  [author] 26 Nov, 2018 @ 4:12pm
Mostly good, sometimes not that good. There is just so much work to do to, and some extra tasks coming up to make all the features good. Most parts are done by now. Some biomes need work, the water flow system is still unstable and sometimes acting weird and a lot of textures are missing. Sadly some of the artists who wanted to help went missing so that part got delayed. I now have someone new and she is doing a great job so far, but release time now depends on the textures mostly, so it's even harder to estimate anything. I gues the main coding is finished next week and then some cleanup, bugfixes and balancing till I have all the textures.
123nick 26 Nov, 2018 @ 3:43pm
How goes development?
爱抚天ftianf 23 Nov, 2018 @ 6:43pm
我依旧在等待,等了三星期了T-T。
PawnSacrifice 23 Nov, 2018 @ 11:52am
I hear your people and the Biomes! people are getting together for the next mod?
Rain 22 Nov, 2018 @ 1:25am
Just read the feature preview and have to say this will easily become one of the most essential mods for this game :) Props for the research and time you have invested to this m8!!!! Take all the time you need to make it work the way you feel it should ;)
Shet 20 Nov, 2018 @ 6:04am
Update Day?
123nick 20 Nov, 2018 @ 3:54am
@Higuera theres a mod that already does that on the workshop, i think its one of Haplo's mods.
Rich 19 Nov, 2018 @ 11:29pm
Great mod, kinda curious though if there'll be an Urban/Suburban kind of biome in the future? I could see map full of fogged buildings that may contain enemies or loot or both being interesting :V
Lanilor  [author] 15 Nov, 2018 @ 10:46am
Yeah, that description is quite outdated for the upcoming version. You might want to read the feature preview if you haven't already. There will be many new features coming and with that there also comes a longer list of incompatibilities. The comments also contain a short discussion about this topic (somewhere near the end) which might be interesting for you.
Temenat 15 Nov, 2018 @ 9:23am
@Lanilor Well, this mod looks great and I can't wait for the update(thanks for all the work you put in this) but about the "mods that detour world generation" topic, there are several Rainbeau's mods that MIGHT(you better ask Rainbeau) have something to do with it, like Permafrost(new biome and water freezing mechanic, that I love), Wild Cultivation(plants like cotton, devilstrand and healroot grow in biomes) , Archipelagos(new biome) and Fertile Fields(terraforming mechanics).
Gamma Gamer 12 Nov, 2018 @ 12:45pm
I am literally waiting for this mod to update! Such a fine mod that adds loads of fun to Rimworld!
TarrierFoil 6 Nov, 2018 @ 4:40pm
Thanks for the quick answer. Looks like I'll be switching to this once it's updated. Again, keep up the good work! :steamhappy:
Lanilor  [author] 6 Nov, 2018 @ 4:34pm
Probably. I have to admit my phrase is a bit too technical for normal users. The reason behind it was that this is technically the correct reason why mods would fail, but without knowing the code, it can't be answered.
Maybe NPS works with the current version, although sadly its code is pretty bad and fragile and sometimes breaks on its own, so it probably breaks here too. With the next update Terra does a lot that NPS does and more and better (obviously biased opinion) and both won't work together because the changes Terra makes are just too complex.
Btw: That was a valid question. Not knowing something isn't bad. It would be a bad question if I already answered it a few comments below or a simple google search would answer it.
TarrierFoil 6 Nov, 2018 @ 4:17pm
I know I'm most likely asking a stupid question, but where it says "Mods that detour world generation (Advanced biomes, ...)", does that include the mod "Nature's Pretty Sweet"? Also, keep up the good work, can't wait for this to update! :steamhappy:
Lanilor  [author] 6 Nov, 2018 @ 7:13am
@firethestars: Thank you very much! You are one of the 0.2% awesome and grateful users. I wish you a great day and a lot of fun with the coming update!

@123nick: It gets released when it is done and I can ensure a decent quality. Forcing a specific date won't help and I don't want to lie and thow a random date in and change it 3 times. Coding is almost done but there are still some textures to do and I don't know how fast that will be done.
firethestars 5 Nov, 2018 @ 10:05pm
Came here to check and see when this might be updated, and realized you make a good point. Given the number of hours of gameplay this mod has improved, coffee and props is the least I can do. Keep up the really quite amazing work and I will be excited to get to play with this again.
123nick 4 Nov, 2018 @ 10:30pm
sorry if this is hard to answer accurately, but do you know when the new update will be done? like an ETA? or just when its finished?
Lanilor  [author] 4 Nov, 2018 @ 5:56am
@Terrorxide: Thank you. Glad that there are some people like you. I hope you will have fun with the next update. It's almost done. The big tasks are finished, there is still some smaller stuff to do and textures.
Mawfawk 4 Nov, 2018 @ 3:56am
The only mod left that i need to be updated :)
Godspeed Mod author !
Terrorxide 4 Nov, 2018 @ 1:52am
Can't wait on what you've planned for us. Enjoy your two coffees! :)
