I share roughly that opinion with all the creators I know, which of course doesn't mean it is the Absolute Truth… But I do favour constructive criticism over downvotes which really only seem to be from people wanting to push their content up by pulling other people down, or who punish people who answered negatively to their asset request and similar situations...

Please do not assume other creators find downvotes to be any useful or good. They don't provide any information as to why the downvote happened. I can assure you that 100% of downvotes happen without any feedback. People who have constructive criticism towards your content write a comment, and they don't downvote in the process. That's what we find useful.
