Report a translation problem
I'm gonna restate that you need to put in:
'RedChests DevilAndRedChestItems true'
Even if the setting is already on, it will still state it's been put on again. So maybe be wary of spelling errors.
Note that if the capital letters are a pain to type, the console is case-insensitive, so you can just type it in lowercase if that's more handy...
After putting around 800-ish hours into this game, I noticed I only went to the Dark Room if it was for a completion mark or cause of 'novelty' since I literally would always go for the Chest route cause of easy acces to items AND the added bonus of the Polaroid wich is actually better IMO in comparison to the Negative (if you got damage in heaps, invincibility becomes more interesting really)
I'm not really equalizing this to make the Dark Room route more 'easy', I'm trying to make it more accessible since if most people do what I do, the Dark Room actually sort of loses its use and becomes utter pointless apart from said completion marks...
But hey, that's only my opinion. And I know this isn't the 'best of all' balance changes, but that's why it's only mod. If you don't like it, more power to you honestly.
I made it a configurable change that's off by default, since it's almost always an instant guppy transformation... BUT HEY, if you wanted this,

....Maybe i'll be able to do it in the future, when I've fiddled more with the API. If that happens I'll update the mod with that as a configurable option and drop a comment so people can now...
