Save yourself all that work and just release the workshop Id's.. It's very easy to convert manually if you know them.

@p.ianieri I probably won't move on to those, to be honest, unless I were doing these models for money (which I don't really have set up). I'm not a native Philadelphian, so I only know of what's been running as the SEPTA fleet for the past decade and some change. All the older stuff, I've seen photos, but have no real connection with any of it. I've mostly been sticking with models that are familiar to me (present day). That's pretty much the only reason the BSL is still on my list, once I get the MFL posted as MOM-compatible.

The only reason it's taking me a while is because my computer takes forever to load C:SL, so dealing with the asset editor is a semi-painful experience, if my computer isn't cooperating, or I forget a step before loading the game.

Hey, I know you have a life outside modding for CS, but you intend on making the BSL B4 sometime in the future, I was wondering if you have any plans on making the M3 Almond Joy cars? ALso, do you know what a Brill Bu8llet is? If not, they are the cars that ran on the NHSL before the N5's arrived... if you ever want to make them, i have some excellent plans that I could scan and send to you... they wouod look awesome in the game with thier striking maraoon paint with metallic silver roofs and beltrails.

@p.ianieri Ah, I gotcha. Well, spoiler alert. I'm intending to make MOM-compatible versions of the appropriate SEPTA vehicles. Coming soon.

@p.ianieri For what, the monorail? If you scroll up on this one, there's a link to the whole SEPTA collection. It should be in there, along with most anything else I've uploaded.
CrazyFinger 3 Dec, 2019 @ 2:45pm
Could you post the workshop Id please?

So that's two votes for a monorail. I might have to roll up my sleeves again. I have some other things I'd like to make in the process. Haha.

I agree a monorail version would be great to see. I rode this many many times growing up... it really *zooms*, feels like travelling through space (much like a monorail), makes this great sound as it accelerates/decelerates.

I'm grateful. looking forward to this.

@egleston.matthew Interesting. I've not looked into that mod. I wish I had a suggestion for that, though I'd have to imagine it would look visually odd on a monorail style track. If I can find the time for it, then I'll do something for you.

Fine by me, I hope to see it eventually. I have been playing with the asset UI changer mod to try it myself but have only had partial luck. It says I've turned it into a monorail and in game its in my monorail list but it doesnt spawn

@egleston.matthew Thank you for the kind words, and extra trivia about the line's history. I can consider this, though I've not worked on any vehicles models in a while, and felt mostly done with the set (aside from possibly doing the Broad Street Line, which is one of the major SEPTA vehicles left out here). I've also been fairly busy on other things outside of Cities: Skylines, so if I do get to a monorail version of this, it's going to be a while before I can get to it, I'm afraid.

Hey Djantir, Excellent work on this asset. I know what the asset is in real life. I have ridden the norristown line hundreds of times from one end to the other. Older folks have a nickname for this unit. They call it a "Pig and whistle". I'm guessing that nickname comes from the predecessor to this unit. I am writing today with a small personal request that may be cool for others as well. Is there any chance in the world that you can re-release this (and its trailers) as a monorail. As I mentioned above, I really do understand the Septa N5 unit and its function but to me, that doesn't quite seem to apply to the mechanics of Cities: Skylines but I really want to use this asset. I also want to use the monorail which I've not previously used. I am thinking that this could kind of qazi serve its intended function as a monorail by making far-off stops and I can still run the MP54 as a passenger train. Please give me your thoughts on this.
