Colorblind Minerals

It's probably still sensible as the obsidian might blend in with slate fairly well. Haven't seen it on a tile yet myself to know. But having it be a brighter color might help in that situation.
Arky 11 Jul @ 5:14pm
After looking at it more I am unsure if it is sensible. It is called obsidian, but the texture is black already. I think I got worried for nothing.
tiagocc0  [author] 11 Jul @ 5:03pm
I can look into it, what is the new ore name?
Arky 11 Jul @ 5:01pm
It will be updated to include that new odyssey ore?
shawyer 16 Jun @ 8:10pm
Thank you again for this mod.
tiagocc0  [author] 15 Jun @ 9:21am
Thanks for letting me know, I will update the tags when 1.6 releases
quill18 15 Jun @ 6:57am
Hasn't been updated with the 1.6 tag yet, but seems to work fine as far as I can tell.
Vlad Robespierre 28 Jan @ 8:16am
Does this work on scanned deposits as well? or does it remains green?
NuanKi 23 Jul, 2024 @ 7:05pm
nah, just use ctrl f mod
unclemestor 7 Jul, 2024 @ 7:28am
I just want to add that this mod is invaluable. I don't have issues with color but its just so much more visually clear with this mod.
Mikuvevo 31 May, 2024 @ 12:41pm
this mod is great! I'm not even colorblind it just is so helpful :3
tiagocc0  [author] 25 Apr, 2024 @ 6:04am
Thanks guys, I added this information to the description of this mod.

I tried looking for a way to fix it on my side but the perspective ore part is in the dll.
Enig 25 Apr, 2024 @ 5:49am
Same issue as HanA and [EXD] Ant - most of the ore looks vanilla. After disabling ore perspective in ReGrowth mod options it is now shown as intended in this mod (colorblind)
tiagocc0  [author] 24 Apr, 2024 @ 6:29am
Is the option perspective ore that affects this mod?
하나 24 Apr, 2024 @ 4:28am
I found what mod causes. it's regrowth. some setting changes this mod perfectly.
tiagocc0  [author] 22 Apr, 2024 @ 5:22pm
I haven't, but I did notice someone talking about compacted steel having two different colors, unrelated to my mod. Maybe there is something in anomaly doing this or it might have to do with a mod. So far it has always been working for me when I play.
[EXD] Ant 22 Apr, 2024 @ 1:42pm
Ok, strange development! Some steel is coloured (orange), but the majority of it isn't! Ever come across this before?
하나 21 Apr, 2024 @ 7:04pm
To stand-alone this mod with only vanilla is working fine too.
하나 21 Apr, 2024 @ 7:03pm
It doesn't seem to be compatible with other specific mod. but mod order is irrelevant.
Searching minerals are working fine.

Works fine for me on 1.5, https://imgur.com/a/0AeZprm
Jaqen H'ghar 20 Apr, 2024 @ 5:38pm
there is something is about this mod that it just doesn't work sometimes, it used to work on 1.4 i updated to 1.5 and now it doesn't work, even though i use the same mods as before but around 100 less mods. tried everything, moving it down, redownloading nothing helps.
tiagocc0  [author] 20 Apr, 2024 @ 3:58am
Move it to the bottom of the list, might help.
[EXD] Ant 20 Apr, 2024 @ 2:20am
Strange. I can see the mod in my Mod list as activated, but then the mod doesn't seem to be working or showing in-game mod-options. I've got a lot of other mods, but I haven't had any conflicts previously. Any suggestions of things to try?
JustMarkHere 17 Apr, 2024 @ 8:04am
Absolutely essential mod for me. Thanks so much for your work on this!
Dark Sun Gwyndolin 12 Apr, 2024 @ 7:59am
While I like the drab colour palate Rimworld normally has, having to eyeball every single cliff face for minerals is a pain. This is very useful.
tiagocc0  [author] 25 Mar, 2024 @ 7:29am
Glad you like it!
The Yeen Queen 25 Mar, 2024 @ 6:49am
Just gotta say this mod is amazing even if you're not colorblind. The minerals can be hard to discern even for non-colorblind people. Thanks so much for this. ;)
tiagocc0  [author] 18 Mar, 2024 @ 5:03am
Nice! Good to know!
Scurvyez 18 Mar, 2024 @ 4:57am
The mod should work just fine with reshade as well. I've used both and I know a few others who do too. The mod started out as a library mod of sorts for other modders to use (new shaders for textures in the game) but then I added the color blindness fullscreen shader. lol
tiagocc0  [author] 18 Mar, 2024 @ 4:50am
Hi there @Scurvyez
I found your mod recently and subscribed, very interesting mod but I didn't test it yet as I use reshade for alternative shading, I will try it out when I have time
Scurvyez 18 Mar, 2024 @ 4:45am
Would be fun to test this with my mod, Pixel Wizardry. :P I wonder if the colors would get blown out or not by the color blindness shader.
tiagocc0  [author] 17 Mar, 2024 @ 7:11am
You are welcome and thanks! I found myself unable to play without it as well, lol, so much easier to spot minerals and I use reshade to make the game darker, so it's a must for me.
Arky 17 Mar, 2024 @ 4:10am
Thank you for updating this mod so quickly. I decided to play 1.5 quickly and started a gameplay without mods. I thought I could play without this one because of the new ctrl+f feature but not being able to see what I am trying to mine is terrible.

Don't tell anyone but this is a mod more special to me than wall lights e.e
tiagocc0  [author] 12 Nov, 2023 @ 4:44am
You can do it manually if you want, here is the step by step:

1. You can go to
steamapps\workshop\content\294100\1424338139

2. Copy that folder
steamapps\common\RimWorld\Mods

3. Edit this file
steamapps\workshop\content\294100\1424338139\Patches\newColor.xml

You will see the colors as this (red, green, blue)
<color>(213,94,0)</color>

If you enter this on google, rgb (213,94,0)
It will show you the color and a way to adjust the color
Get the value on the bottom that says RGB and put it back on the file

4. You can also edit
steamapps\workshop\content\294100\1424338139\About\About.xml

And give it your own name, when you run the game you will be able to add this mod, then you can remove mine.

Feel free to upload it as your mod if you want but don't forget to change the name and remove PublishedFileId.txt from the same folder, so it will be a new mod.

Cheers

It would be absolutely incredible if there was a settings screen to adjust the colors. I really like the mod but many of the defaults are too vibrant.
tiagocc0  [author] 28 Aug, 2023 @ 3:45am
if you are talking about this:

XML error: Duplicate XML node name color in this XML block: <graphicData><texPath>Things/Building/Linked/RockFlecked_Atlas</texPath><graphicClass>Graphic_Single</graphicClass><shaderType>CutoutComplex</shaderType><color>(112,89,43)</color><colorTwo>(112,89,43)</colorTwo><color>(240,228,66)</color><colorTwo>(155,133,107)</colorTwo></graphicData>

XML error: Duplicate XML node name colorTwo in this XML block: <graphicData><texPath>Things/Building/Linked/RockFlecked_Atlas</texPath><graphicClass>Graphic_Single</graphicClass><shaderType>CutoutComplex</shaderType><color>(112,89,43)</color><colorTwo>(112,89,43)</colorTwo><color>(240,228,66)</color><colorTwo>(155,133,107)</colorTwo></graphicData>

it seems they are trying to add the same patch to the game as me, this is necessary to be able to change mineable components to change color the same way other mineable minerals

I don't know why but the mod "Colorblind Minerals" and "ReGrowth: Core" ( https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2260097569&tscn=1693202151 ) don't really get along here the Github link:

Have unsubcribe the mod and re-subscribed.
now works again :)
Kitherit 23 Oct, 2022 @ 6:50pm
Ooohhh I may give that a try. Thank you.
tiagocc0  [author] 23 Oct, 2022 @ 5:48pm
I guess you would need to make a mod for it, what I would do is just copy the mod folder from the steamlibrary (steamapps/workshop/content/294100/1424338139) to your mod folder (steamapps/common/RimWorld/Mods).

That way it will become a local mod and won't be updated, Rimworld will use the local mod instead of the subscribed.
Kitherit 23 Oct, 2022 @ 5:02pm
I have a question: Is there a way to customize the colors? I love this mod, though I don't have any color blindness issues. My only complaint is that the colors are -too- vibrant. I'd love if there was a way to customize the colors to suit my own tastes.

Repost, with Edit: I figured out how to edit the XML file to change the colors. I'm guessing if the mod is updated, it'll revert. Is it at all possible to include an option to change the colors in-game and have it save?
tiagocc0  [author] 22 Oct, 2022 @ 5:47am
That is odd, I'm using it right now on biotech, try to unsubscribe and then subscribe again.
einBetra 22 Oct, 2022 @ 5:38am
Tried the mod, keep getting a blackscreen when I try to load the mod in my modlist (Only have "Colorblind Minerals" installed)
tiagocc0  [author] 6 Oct, 2022 @ 9:40am
Since this is a simple mod, I already tested it for 1.4 and it is working.
Intrspace 30 Sep, 2022 @ 3:52pm
@k you know, this problem could have been avoided if Tynan added steel smelting. Rocks containing iron ore are typically orange irl :p
yolofee 2 Aug, 2022 @ 5:57am
colorblind or not this mod is BIS
Plutoski 21 Jul, 2022 @ 6:21am
came here just for the steel texture. yes the vanilla steel textures make sense but i'd rather have ease of use and be able spot steel easily.
Moonshine Fox 2 Jul, 2022 @ 3:09pm
Thank you so much for this! I'm not colorblind, but I still had a lot of trouble telling some of the minerals apart from rock.
ImSolidGold 20 May, 2022 @ 11:50am
