While I've made some bad mistakes for my age while I've been gone ( LOOKING AT YOU, PRINCESS AND CONQUEST ), I've grown up a lot too. And maybe one of those "bad mistakes" led to one of my favorite role-plays yet, I still recognize that they weren't good for me.
Anyway, about the item. I love this mod so much, and as I previously mentioned, The Nyablo grew on me for whatever reason, even more so than the Hylotl.

I just realized some of them—the minor or secondary Pacts—could also act as a stat boost, similar to the Stim Packs that last for a period of time or until death, which can be activated again by revisiting the respective Pact (maybe a cooldown for balancing's sake would be helpful if it's a meaningful stat boost) that was placed down or completing its random worldly event or quest again. I'm not so sure about some of the major or primary Pacts though—if a few that make sense as stat boosts should be permanent or not.
Sorry about bothering you about this idea again, I had that little thought I wanted to add that particular quote. Good luck with everything.
Their lore gives the impression that they can link with the character after a certain event happens to or around the character, after an unique lengthy and difficult quest specific to each pact that must be found after finding the Pact itself (or given by the Pact once found), or maybe even based on the character's actions—who knows since each Pact is mysterious—then grant that character a special ability respective to the Pact that activated.
Figuring out the prerequisites for each Pacts' method of activation such as basing it on the character's actions, worldly events, or quests—maybe all three and more.
The mechanics behind activating the Pacts such as having to place a Pact down in your ship or home before its prerequisite can be sought.
What ability each Primary and Secondary Pact can grant.
What these abilities can do that isn't too OP based on Starbound itself (lengthy cooldowns or drawbacks could help).
What form these abilities can take (weapon, item, tech, et cetera), and possibly more issues than what I listed.
Sorry about the massive wall of text, I just find the Pacts to be fascinating.
