you will not be able to tame the carcharodontosaurus
Aspergersaurus 12 May, 2023 @ 1:33pm
Does this also work with modded dinos, or only vanilla ones?
Zgames1234 16 Feb, 2023 @ 12:34am
Does this work with Ark transcendence and its expansion mod too?
Malorn 10 Feb, 2023 @ 4:44pm
This mod is just...so amazing. I could not play the game without it.
brandonmoran1999 11 May, 2022 @ 11:39am
daniel this mod works best with the hunted
Basil 30 Apr, 2022 @ 11:00am
this makes the dinos actually HUNGRY when you knock them out! making taming instant sometimes, do NOT use this mod if you care about game balance
also this means pteranodons and other things that cant attack or wont find anything will starve to death
Jid  [author] 25 Mar, 2022 @ 8:37am
Would if I could but I lost the source files a long time ago. If you can get anything useful out of the files available feel free to do whatever you want with them.
GUS_CHIGGINZ 24 Mar, 2022 @ 10:19pm
would you be willing to make this open source? :)
lordcrowler 18 Mar, 2022 @ 7:58am
Mod still works, verry usefull and kinda realistic, not all dinos are full hunger like not all animals on planet full hunger :)...
GamaYouNow 4 Oct, 2021 @ 3:48am
TOP MOD !
Vuero 18 Jul, 2021 @ 9:59am
Damn that makes The Hunted with this really hard :) as supposed i guess
Jid  [author] 18 Jul, 2021 @ 2:56am
There's no way to check. Only way to know you're safe would be to throw dead dinos at the carnivore until it stops eating but even full ones will aggro if you get really close
Vuero 3 Jul, 2021 @ 7:13am
Is there a way to check / see the hunger meter of carnivores? I just started a The Hunted SP and had a high level Daeodon right next to me, didn't care for me for 15 minutes (i was camping in my little base) then just came over and killed me inside my 2x1 wood base xD. I'm generally not sure when it is safe to go outside now, would love to hear if there is a way to find out!
marowc91 30 Jun, 2021 @ 9:01am
On single player mod still works after last dlc release. No crashes and bugs either.
TISOD 14 Jun, 2021 @ 5:05pm
haven't tried yet but amazing concept. It always bothered me that everything is always trying to eat everything all the time
WitchyCat 26 May, 2021 @ 12:25am
@Splićo It worked for me with The Hunted in April, though in my current playthrough it's not working...
Sperber 23 May, 2021 @ 12:18pm
I think it's still working. I notice that carnivores have varying aggro ranges with this mod and I obverseve them nibbling at their prey's corpse once or twice.
Jid  [author] 24 Apr, 2021 @ 10:38am
I don't have the files anymore to do any changes. Please leave a comment if this mod has stopped working for good and I'll delist it.
Splićo 24 Apr, 2021 @ 7:33am
anyone can confirm this works with The Hunted mod ?
AlphaGodith 18 Apr, 2021 @ 4:26pm
i'm not sure this is working anymore, on my server wild dinos NEVER eat corpses, and otherwise behave as they always did.
AlphaGodith 15 Apr, 2021 @ 10:25pm
@Zedrin did it work?
Blood 21 Feb, 2021 @ 8:44pm
Not really sure, but for some reason think this mod stopped working on my server. As Ive watched several vanilla creatures have been killing then completely leaving the body behind to kill nearby creatures/players again?
Zedrin 10 Dec, 2020 @ 3:39am
I use immersive taming and was trying to tame an allosaurus. Was working, save for the fact that it was sprinting up and down the shoreline slaughtering everything in its path and not letting me get close.

Looking forward to using this mod, it'll be nice to have dinos that aren't mass murderers.
MovNik 20 Nov, 2020 @ 4:01am
is there a way to observe the hunger level of the beast, is the hunger level indicator possible?
Jid  [author] 30 Aug, 2020 @ 9:01pm
You're welcome!
Jid  [author] 30 Aug, 2020 @ 9:00pm
I don't know if this mod works with X or Y mod. Few pointers:

- If a mod adds new creatures, this mod will add the hunger system on them if they're properly classified as carnivore, otherwise this mod will do nothing.
- If a mod changes aggro ranges or corpse targeting, it might conflict.
- If a mod changes something on the knockout part of taming, there's a small chance it will conflict.
- Any other type of mod should be fine.
Sylveadiff 30 Aug, 2020 @ 9:00pm
Wonderful, thanks! This is exactly what I've been looking for.
Jid  [author] 30 Aug, 2020 @ 8:43pm
When the carnivore is hungry the mod basically doesn't do anything anymore, so no, they can't die of hunger. Just means they need to eat more before the aggro reduction kicks in.
Sylveadiff 30 Aug, 2020 @ 4:18pm
Will wild carnivores starve if left hungry for too long? This looks amazing.
Zim 26 Jul, 2020 @ 6:05am
does this work with abberation?
BevansDesign 26 Apr, 2020 @ 12:27am
For anyone wondering, I just started using this mod a couple days ago, and it seems to still work fine. Dinos don't act like mindless killbots anymore! (Now if someone could make a mod that improves path-finding, the game would be perfect.)
Jid  [author] 17 Oct, 2019 @ 2:55pm
Gist of it was a master file that attached a massive ball shaped collider to each player and if anything hit the collider it checked if it was a carnivore and if it had a hunger tag. If both were no, it'd add a node to the dino that kept the hunger info. I think it was just a variable scaled off its HP or something.

If the number was above a set threshold, it lowered the aggro radius of the dino and if this dino collided with a dead dino it'd start off a quickly ticking timer that each time checked if the carnivore has eating animation going and if yes, add to the hunger number.

IIRC I couldn't find another way to access the dino AI than to make something collide with the carnivore and through that you could poke its variables (most importantly the aggro range)

If there's anything else, I can try to answer, but it's been a long time and I don't have the files nor the dev kit anymore. Even what I've said so far might not be that accurate.
UGZ 15 Oct, 2019 @ 7:31pm
Hey Jid, im a modder that is trying to complete a similar concept for my mod and wanted to ask you about how you did this
Braniya 2 Oct, 2019 @ 8:24pm
Is this mod compatible with Rare Sightings?
Milena Fighter 18 Aug, 2019 @ 5:00am
Does it work on remaped dinos? Like Kraken Better Dinos mod or any additional moded creatures? I love those so much <3
Jid  [author] 25 Apr, 2019 @ 1:06am
Changing tamed dino behaviour would open a big can of worms I'm not really willing to deal with, sorry. This mod is and will always be just wild dinos, maybe someone else can improve on the tame ones.
Bejork Dibutt 16 Apr, 2019 @ 6:25pm
dude, and you add a funcion when the tamed dinos start to starve to death they will go agro on its owner and other monts?
StarlightSovereign 21 Mar, 2019 @ 8:52pm
The major version release today actually seemed to fix it. Weird, but it is on now. Thank you!
Jid  [author] 21 Mar, 2019 @ 1:55pm
The server and the client trying to connect have different mods or mod versions. Most likely the mod doesn't get downloaded in either the server or the client or by coincidence another mod got an update around the same time. I can't really do anything about it but it might resolve on its own.
StarlightSovereign 21 Mar, 2019 @ 12:31pm
Loading this into our server gets a mod mismatch error.
We have other mods, but all works until we add this one.
I don't know what info to give to help, but I thought I should report.
UGZ 10 Feb, 2019 @ 9:15pm
this mod is under rated
Bejork Dibutt 12 Nov, 2018 @ 6:14pm
i will cage a dilo and let it starve
Jid  [author] 12 Nov, 2018 @ 1:52pm
I don't know how the game actually handles starving wild dino, try it out and let us know? :D
Bejork Dibutt 12 Nov, 2018 @ 11:45am
lets say u trap one on a cage, he starv to death? or cant die by it
Max 2 Nov, 2018 @ 2:17pm
Sounds good, cheers!
Jid  [author] 2 Nov, 2018 @ 12:57pm
Hey, sorry, I don't really play right now so I don't have plans for updates aside from maybe fixing stuff if an update breaks the mod. I'll look at the herbies if/when I get back to the game though.
Max 1 Nov, 2018 @ 2:43pm
A further development idea to the post below.
For those that don't agree or want the herbivore hunger and to maintain flexibilityyou could have it as ini configurable, for example:

[HungerMeter]
HerbivoreHunger=True/False (boolean, default to False)
MinHerbHunger=xx.x (floating point value between 0.0 and 99.0, default to 50.0)
MaxHerbHunger=xx.x (floating point value between 1.0 and 10.0, default to 100.0)

It's just an idea, I know the folks on our server would love it, they immediately asked about herbivores when I put the mod on about 2 months ago.
Max 1 Nov, 2018 @ 2:35pm
Just wish there was a logical way for herbivores to also have random hunger, or, how about that, just give them some kind of random hunger level between say 75% and 100%?

This would be greatly help speed up taming, I hate having 10x taming speed on the server but those herbivores need it and it still takes forever due to their mix of always being full and lack of a "mutton" level vegetable equivalent.

A "hungry" high level Rex can take 10 - 20 seconds to tame on mutton at 10x, a herbivore still takes an hour or so.
With hungry herbivores we can greatly reduce the taming speed so those Rex's don't tame ridiculously quick and the herbivores ridiculously slow but rather a more equalized speed.
Jid  [author] 1 Nov, 2018 @ 2:28pm
I haven't tested with EC but in theory it should work with pretty much anything
Lexi 28 Oct, 2018 @ 4:32am
Will this intergrate with mods like Extinction Core?
