also this means pteranodons and other things that cant attack or wont find anything will starve to death
Looking forward to using this mod, it'll be nice to have dinos that aren't mass murderers.
- If a mod adds new creatures, this mod will add the hunger system on them if they're properly classified as carnivore, otherwise this mod will do nothing.
- If a mod changes aggro ranges or corpse targeting, it might conflict.
- If a mod changes something on the knockout part of taming, there's a small chance it will conflict.
- Any other type of mod should be fine.
If the number was above a set threshold, it lowered the aggro radius of the dino and if this dino collided with a dead dino it'd start off a quickly ticking timer that each time checked if the carnivore has eating animation going and if yes, add to the hunger number.
IIRC I couldn't find another way to access the dino AI than to make something collide with the carnivore and through that you could poke its variables (most importantly the aggro range)
If there's anything else, I can try to answer, but it's been a long time and I don't have the files nor the dev kit anymore. Even what I've said so far might not be that accurate.
We have other mods, but all works until we add this one.
I don't know what info to give to help, but I thought I should report.
For those that don't agree or want the herbivore hunger and to maintain flexibilityyou could have it as ini configurable, for example:
[HungerMeter]
HerbivoreHunger=True/False (boolean, default to False)
MinHerbHunger=xx.x (floating point value between 0.0 and 99.0, default to 50.0)
MaxHerbHunger=xx.x (floating point value between 1.0 and 10.0, default to 100.0)
It's just an idea, I know the folks on our server would love it, they immediately asked about herbivores when I put the mod on about 2 months ago.
This would be greatly help speed up taming, I hate having 10x taming speed on the server but those herbivores need it and it still takes forever due to their mix of always being full and lack of a "mutton" level vegetable equivalent.
A "hungry" high level Rex can take 10 - 20 seconds to tame on mutton at 10x, a herbivore still takes an hour or so.
With hungry herbivores we can greatly reduce the taming speed so those Rex's don't tame ridiculously quick and the herbivores ridiculously slow but rather a more equalized speed.
