Just wanted to let you know about this.

So, you want to put that behemoth on Cape Gauge? Sorry, but that's not going ton work. It's too big.
nothing_cool  [author] 3 Mar, 2020 @ 2:31pm
That JNR ten wheeler was a tank. 0-10-0. I'll see if I can find it.
Richard Ronald Mortis 3 Mar, 2020 @ 2:21pm
But they had a 2-10-4 tank.

In Japan, however, ten drivers was very rare and I am only aware of the one class, if which very few were built.
nothing_cool  [author] 3 Mar, 2020 @ 2:17pm
Ten drivers existed. Ten drivers were very common, actually. Go look at Russian Decapods, the USRA 2-10-0 (based on the Decapod), and the A.T.S.F. 2-10-0, which later was upgraded to the 2-10-4 Texas class. There was also a multitude of turbines with large wheel counts and lota of five-axle rolling stock such as the 4-10 Centipede Tender used by the A.T.S.F., U.P., and NYC.

I forgot to mention, it's meant for mixed traffic.
Richard Ronald Mortis 3 Mar, 2020 @ 10:46am
And the 4 wheel guide truck and tailing truck makes it the best for navigating tight turns, and for a larger fire box.
Richard Ronald Mortis 3 Mar, 2020 @ 10:43am
At any rate if you have a frame bigger that 8 drivers, say like 10 drivers, it would derail just like the soviet class aa20-1.
Richard Ronald Mortis 3 Mar, 2020 @ 10:26am
I said it was based off the Niagara.
nothing_cool  [author] 2 Mar, 2020 @ 6:57pm
Yeah, there is no way you're going to fit a bigger Niagra on Cape Gauge. There was a resson the D51 was the largest. There was only one E steamer, but I cannot recall the name. Didn't have pilot or trailer wheels ans they ran it in reverse most of the time in mountain helper services. MicroAce has a model in N scale.
Richard Ronald Mortis 2 Mar, 2020 @ 3:56pm
Yeah good point. But ease of mantonance is my goal for this loco.
And its partly based off of the New York Central niagaras.
nothing_cool  [author] 2 Mar, 2020 @ 2:36pm
so what you've just made is a locomotive larger than a Lima Berkshire for a gauge that is narrower than Standard. That will not work. That loco will be very top heavy and will not take turns at any sort of speed.
Richard Ronald Mortis 2 Mar, 2020 @ 2:28pm
And an 80" diamitor boiler.
Richard Ronald Mortis 2 Mar, 2020 @ 2:26pm
I know but just wanted you tell you that but just picture a D51 on a 4-8-4 frame. And roller bearings on all axles i forgot to mention.
nothing_cool  [author] 2 Mar, 2020 @ 1:56pm
stats mean nothing without an image
Richard Ronald Mortis 2 Mar, 2020 @ 1:26pm
I know but i just wanted you tell you about my fantasy train for Japanese railways.
The stats are the following, 4-8-4 Wheel config, 260 PSI, 80" diamiter boiler, and a tractive effort of 46,810 lbs.
nothing_cool  [author] 1 Mar, 2020 @ 3:01pm
Exactly. I can make my own fantasy trains, and trains that actually exist, but not someone else's fantasy trains.
Richard Ronald Mortis 1 Mar, 2020 @ 9:37am
Btw i know why you cant make it, Because you dont even know what i looks like
Richard Ronald Mortis 1 Mar, 2020 @ 9:33am
No no i'm telling you about this loco.
nothing_cool  [author] 1 Mar, 2020 @ 9:17am
I cannot make someone else's custom things, sorry.
Richard Ronald Mortis 1 Mar, 2020 @ 9:14am
Sorry, This loco is something i thought of my self.
I can tell you the stats if you like.
nothing_cool  [author] 29 Feb, 2020 @ 6:40pm
Link?
Richard Ronald Mortis 29 Feb, 2020 @ 5:45pm
No No The E1 is an imaginary Japanese steam loco.
nothing_cool  [author] 29 Feb, 2020 @ 12:38pm
The Shinkansen?
I am not building Shinkansens, sorry.
Richard Ronald Mortis 29 Feb, 2020 @ 11:54am
Have you heard of the E1?
nothing_cool  [author] 29 Feb, 2020 @ 11:19am
there's a DD51, that's close enough right? Just one extra letter?

Joking aside, I've put further steam based builds on hold for now untill I can get some bugs worked out of my drive rod system. If I can gt those to work well, then I'll make some more steam locos.
Richard Ronald Mortis 29 Feb, 2020 @ 10:19am
Can you make a class D51 and a class C62?
nothing_cool  [author] 30 Jun, 2018 @ 11:15am
Thank you!
Going to see if I can make more coaches, as these can be used as a good base for pretty much any coach post the JNR split. Hopefully I'll be able to get some named trains made.
