i love this mod! unfortunately i can't use it all the time with my partner cause she cannot stand the spiders and scorpions. wish there was a version out there that we could both use :<

Wonderful update for bugs collecting quality, as it gets rid of most crickets (which before mod are just every step).
I enjoy much more quiet world and some of my favourite spiders in game.

Imagine my surprise to see that you went through the trouble of animating these! They look great!

@SheiFoxy It's no sweat, I'll try my darndest to be okay! :)

Non-spider-only version incoming this weekend! It'll be a mantis/leafbug update :) Should be updated this Sunday at the latest, but hopefully earlier if I have time.
@Crimson rats soon! Bugs first :3 I may throw in a rodent for your trouble though, if I have time~

@Daytimebaton39 Okay, tell me your process for how you downloaded it, if you wouldn't mind? You subscribed to the mod, then went to the Staxel page in your library, clicked on the Play button, and then selected the third of the four options that come up in order to update/install your mods, right?

@cey and @ColbyWolf and @Arbutus Thanks so much! I hope you like the next little guys I add in!

@Naii Elyuex More than just flashbacks for you soon rofl

If you guys wanna join me at all for funsies/updates/to make suggestions, feel free to bother me at this discord if you have it:

@Drifty SO SORRY about your diagnosis. :c My mom had MS. I'm so sorry.
Again, lovely little mod, just a headsup that it's mostly spiders atm. ^^ Would adore a non-spider version in the future if you finish it! Thank you again for your modding work.
Fizzybits  [author] 30 Jan, 2020 @ 12:03pm
@SheiFoxy is correct, this mod is far from done.

Sorry for disappearing on you guys. Got insanely sick (MS diagnosis, awesome) and my cat knocked a glass of tea into my computer. Oofsville. But it's alive again after replacing some parts, and I can see about making some more bugs for this/adding in the ones I finished but couldn't upload due to lack of a computer!

Rats when?
StarlightSovereign 27 Jan, 2020 @ 10:31pm
Great mod, but a little headsup: There's a praying mantis then the rest are spiders. Not all the stuff listed above. Just a ton of spiders. Your island is now infested because they have their own spawn hooks.
So... unless you REALLY LIKE spiders, maybe this isn't right for you. I wish they'd added the rest of the things. I really liked the little trapdoor spider. it was my favorite. But some of the models mad me fear for my villagers' lives. :FunnyFoxy:

I really love spiders and have even had a few as pets IRL so I was SO HAPPY to stumble upon this mod and it has made my Staxel gameplay that much more enjoyable. To the author, thank you so much! I know spiders are hated by a lot of people, but this mod really made me happy.
Daytimebaton39 18 Jan, 2020 @ 11:36pm
Anyone know why this would show that files are missing when I have it installed? Only other mods I tried with are Wolfkin and Starbound character mods. Any help would be a great help
mothsqueaks 17 Jan, 2020 @ 4:55pm
I love this mod <3 Like, I've only recently gotten 'into' spiders, so it's pretty cool to, like, see these things I know about "in the wild" -- "oooh, a mexican redknee!"

This game doesn't get enough love and the modders in the community are awesome. <3

So much love

I just wanted to mention I love this mod. I can't wait for the next update.

Thanks for letting me know! I'll look into that for sure.
Butt Goblin 9 Apr, 2019 @ 3:24pm
Hi, I love this mod cuz I love collecting and getting to display everything in the museum is a task I can't wait to do! I just thought I'd let you know, if you aren't already aware, that with the newest update the UI is tweaked a bit, so the bugs from this mod don't show up in the bugs/fish/fossils tab.
Zersetzung 6 Apr, 2019 @ 2:01pm
epic
Fizzybits  [author] 11 Jan, 2019 @ 7:46pm
Okay! I have been working hard guys, and I am very close to having the next update available! I've gone through and looked up lots of different ideas for bugs, and I'd like to just say that by the time I'm finished, we're going to have nearly 250 bugs to collect, if we include what Staxel already has!

YAY IVE ALWAYS WANTED TO CATCH A SPIDER IN THE WOODS

i hate spiders
Zodori 13 Dec, 2018 @ 4:39pm
I love this mod so much! I love variety in catching stuff so this was a really nice addition. If I may offer some personal opinions, perhaps you may find some of this feedback useful :>

-I can't tell if it was just me, but I think the spawn rate was heavily geared towards the spiders. I can't tell if this is actually a thing that's effected or even changable, but I swear 90% of what I was finding was this mod's bugs LOL.. And they are EVERYWHERE.

- I'd loooove to see more variety other than just arachnids. I know you said you are planning to add a lot more, but if I may suggest a few in mind: Cicadas, wasps, pill bugs (maybe they hide out near rocks?) sand crabs (hide out on beaches) and maybe birds?

-It would be really cool to see some biome variation! Like certain bugs only spawning in certain biomes. I'm actually not sure if this is possible BUT if it is, that'd be really cool to see!
Giddian 25 Oct, 2018 @ 10:59am
love this mod, but now i have no fossils.
NayroinB0.2 23 Sep, 2018 @ 12:56am
Amazing! keep up the good work!! :D
Phryne 25 Aug, 2018 @ 12:32pm
Love this mod! It makes it much easier to passively collect money while I'm exploring. I'd love to see a whole bunch of different types of collectables, theyre fun to collect and fit in great with the game's aesthetic!
Merrie [RELIC] 12 Jul, 2018 @ 3:38am
This mod is so good! looking at the comments, i agree with a terrarium mod. Looking forward to the additions to this mod and the modders other packs :D
Kytako 5 Jul, 2018 @ 9:04am
this is easly my favrote mod but its way too op so mabie you should cut the price of the goliath bird eater in half
James42785 2 Jul, 2018 @ 9:19pm
I would be keen to see reptiles and amphibians to go with the terrarium mod, maybe a couple more varieties like desert and tropical.
Fizzybits  [author] 30 Jun, 2018 @ 7:30pm
Oh yeah, this mod is far, far, far from finished. I have several things planned for this covering bugs, and then I'll be making another mod with lizards/reptiles/anphibians, and another with rodents, which will include bats even though I don't believe they're rodents. But still!

I am already working on the next update for this mod, which will be covering mantises, walking sticks, and leaf bugs. I still have to go through beetles, butterflies, ants/wasps/bees, the millipede/centipede/pill bug family, and then there are crabs and hermit crabs for the beaches. Trust me, there will be *plenty* to discover!

I'm also thinking about doing a fantasy based "bug" collecting mod, so stay tuned for that!

I'll also take another peek at the black widow. It looked good to me based on the images I was looking at, but if its bugging people I'll see about editing it.
TechRabbit 30 Jun, 2018 @ 6:10pm
The only big critique I have is that the black widow doesn't look like one. It has a more rounded and bulbous abdomen. But the others and the animations are lovely (I grew up having to check under the bed for those suckers before I went to sleep).

I don't know how the game breaks down it's biomes/areas/etc. but it would be interesting to see worms, catepillars etc in garden areas, snakes and lizards, and birds (I know there is another mod but feels incomplete).
Fizzybits  [author] 30 Jun, 2018 @ 5:48pm
Ooh yes, I do have plans for those, don't you worry! Soon you might see something sneak into your house or in one of the stores ;)
TechRabbit 30 Jun, 2018 @ 3:07pm
Fantastic addition, It is fun to look at the trees now. One thing though, is there any way to add some of the crawlies to the mine and abandoned houses?---
