Love the idea and the comics look awesome, but the dot textures with highly contrasting background really strains our eyes.

Also one thing i noticed (that is a detail that is not that important) is that the comic is not like manga, where manga is read from the right to left, while this is read as a normal comic from left to right.

I think if you made it a bit coloured and kinda styled like the comics (pop art kinda), with a larger pattern (as in more of it covers the weapon, to give the feel that the weapon is wrapped in the comic), it would be perfect.

I do like the comic, nice work there.

It has a paper texture applied to it, as for the dots I use them for emphasis on color or tones.
If you look at the preview with just the texture and click on it the preview is actually readable.

I like this skin, even we cant "read" the comic, but overall its nice looking black & white skin, showing the manga vibe

may I suggent add some screentone pattern (or just dotted black and white)
