Reapers: Yeah, might as well just plaster a giant sign that says "Hey covert sniper over here shoot me"

Skirmishers: Ok fair enough, need to maintain the fight somehow

Templars: This is fine

why does this makes the templar looks like they're using a pistol in the shard place and its "invisible" ?

i did something wrong or its the classes mods i addad?

LWOTC already had on Templar so this mod can't be use with it.

I think I found it, within XComClassData.ini for the mod I added the line for each class and it seems to work, I made the file read-only because I wasn't sure if the AIM Launcher would overwrite the file.

+AllowedWeapons=(SlotType=eInvSlot_SecondaryWeapon, WeaponType="empty")

Hello, is there a way to add an "Empty" slot? This would be to remove the shield when required, some classes like the Skirmisher and Reaper will let you select other weapons but the Templar once you equip the shield it stays there and you can't get him to use both gauntlets as before.

Anyone else have a problem when they uninstall this that it still stays? I removed this mod and started a new game only to have the heroes keep starting with shields. Does anyone know a way to fix this? I have tried reinstalling the XcomEngine.ini and the characterclass.ini but still keep having them spawn with shields.

I've read a lot people saying that templars with shield have messed up arms.
To those people, I suggest trying the mod "invisible parts for hero units". This would allow you to completely remove the right arm.

could use an update got some serious bug with the templar model once the shield is equipped as the shard gauntlet itself move down to where his hand goes and makes it look like he's missing half his arm (c)

I'd probably try this on a skirmisher if the shields went in a utility slot. Perfect reason to grab tac rigging. But I value the grapple too highly to sacrifice the ripjack for a build experiment.

Any chance of a utility slot option for these? (I suppose I should be asking on the main mod page, but I'm here and in a bit of a hurry at the moment)

For some reason, when my templar equips a shield, her right arm turns invisible and her gauntlet is... I guess being held as a gun?

Sadly not. The distinct hero class holds their own secondary weapon.

Also, with the mod to recruit aliens (forgot its name but it also have a faction mod called The Liberated) it would be cool if I could fit Mutons and Andromedons with the shields and to use them as literal meat shields with shields. Maybe Sectoids too but I'd rather keep'em naked. No homo.

You know what would work alot better for the templars for their shields? Using the shield that pops up as deflect that scales with the gaunlet level. Would look much more natural too.

Guys relax we all make mistakes he gave the credit. MrShadowCX did it the right way and asked and it has been done. It was just a mistake thats all. I bet I get crap for this lol. I think it calls for a new Advent unit which is a mix of the Shieldbearer and the one with the baton (his name escapes me) and it's basically the later with a shield with some active ability (probably making a cover). I know Advent don't play like that but pa~raise the low~d for mods.

It is incomprehensible to me how you have so blatantly co-opted the hard work of others and seemingly pass it off as your own.

A simple acknowledgment paragraph (or three… or four) would show you respect the work of those in this modding community who do the heavy lifting.

Nice mod. Please do us all a favor and give credit to the original mod authors who created the shield mod you've created your mod from.
