I've had issues with this mod where it shows rivers that aren't actually there. Ie. entire areas all with fresh water and marked as river but its just plains/desert...

When this is installed but I'm not using it, all my savegames require it to be installed. Is there a way to avoid this?

Is it BBS compatible? Do the two mods work together? With Gaia-style continents and BBS-style Civs starting terrain for example?

@Calibrated there are mods which alter the start bias for Inca so that you're more likely to spawn in mountains. You can try one of those and use it with my map script and see if that helps.

At the end of the day you're at the whim of whatever seed you get when you generate the map so you won't always get the perfect mountain start; or the perfect desert start with Mali.

While i love this and use it almost every game I think i found something odd.. When I play Inca on continents I usually only have to re-roll a few time to get a good mountain start. But I've noticed with this map that it can take many many re-rolls.. I've tried to start probably 30 time spread across multiple play sessions and getting a good mountain spot is very very rare even on NEW world age.

If the Gaia Map Script option is not showing up, make sure you are not using an old Saved Configuration. Configs also save the mods that were enabled, so you will need to create a new game from scratch with the mod enabled and save those settings. I wasn't seeing the Gaia map option until I remembered to try this.

Hey. I would love to give this a try. Does this work after the Babylon update? Also, if I'd like to use the YNAEMP mods Cultural Start Bias together, will this mod be compatible with that?

If it's something that you can fix, that would be great. Meanwhile, I'll just continue playing without the feature. This map script is just perfect for me and I wouldn't want to play on any other map.

Does the new wonder picker feature work with this script? Gaia is the only map I use to play and was excited about that new feature, but I was still getting natural wonders that I had not chosen to be included. I was wondering if the feature itself is not working or if it's not compatible with this script.

@Macsen Thanks for the feedback. With procedurally generated scripts you can get situations where the Starting Plot algorithm can't place Civs 8-10 tiles apart and is forced to place some Civs closer than normal to maintain equitable fertility starts. Given the Gaia Map Script has less consistent outputs (hence the fun) than Firaxis maps, this can sometimes happen. Its rare but unfortunate :(

Hi, think I came across an issue... I settled in place and an AI civ capital (Zulu) was only 4 tiles away from mine. 4!

My settings were standard size map, deity, Spain, Level 4 Disaster rest all default (7 opp civs 12 minors) all DLC inc. Frontier Pass. Gaia Map.

Absolutely love the script (best earthlike one I've played) but surely that's an issue, never seen that happen with the Firaxis scripts. Should be more minimum space than that e.g. minimum 8-12 tiles surely with standard settings. Don't know if Frontier Pass mucked up something? Literally never had it happen previously without the new DLC.

@Darkseus - short answer is yes its possible; and I've experimented with a Terra version of this script but I've never been able to get it to a point where I'm happy with the outputs.

I absolutely love this map script.... great job!
I am one that also likes realistic colonialism, and I also like the "terra" map mode as it places all Civs on the biggest continent and it is mostly barbarians on the other uncolonized ones, making for a real fun game. Is there any way to combine your map script with that mode? That would be amazing.

@Levas/Alis Hey :) Thanks for your comment. I recently discovered a bug in my Isthmus detection function (sometimes preventing the map from loading) while doing a separate project so I went back and made sure it was fixed in this mod as well.

I also adjusted the size of the landmasses across different map sizes so continents are less likely to be blocky - no guarantees though as we're dealing with fractals and RNG.

I love when better than vanilla map scripts come out, but I keep generating long north/south continents instead of fuller, more beefy continents a shown in the screen shot (no Eurasia analogue). Would this be due to the latest patch?
