the ambient sound of this map gives a very strange vibe.. like a great feeling of loniless. Great map, will see it in my nightmares

It was fun to explore.

Could you add an ending to the level so we know when we've explored all there is to explore?

Interesting, nice exclusive visuals....Go on making the test

As for legality... I dunno, my best guess is that user-created levels would basically be considered a form of fanart/fan content, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I would love to see a remake, it was an awesome envirotment and I'm always down for levels with original stories tied to them. I'm not sure what you mean that by saying that it's a demo but not a test... those kinda mean the same thing to me in this context. Like, a demo is a demonstration of (insert thing to demo) in order to test your audience's reaction, or is that not what you meant?
Anyway, can't wait to see more ^^

And also I'm taking some textures from a source game called Neotokyo and planning to mount it to my remake and upload it. Just the textures, no models or sounds. Wouldn't that mean I should first get a permission to use the textures from Neotokyo to the dev? Or I can just add a credit for them? I'm really not good with laws or getting permission so I need a bit of a nudge. If it is illega or not. If so, then I could use the Portal 2 assets and see what I can get.

Thank you so much! This is basically my first upload to workshop, in which I had no knowledge of preceiving the players prespective. Mind If I make a remake?

I looked at your screenshots and I think KyloX is right. Those screenshots look like what the level looks like to me, so I think the player experience is actually the same as yours, except we have no knowledge of the level so we have no idea what might be in the dark. I often struggle to be observant enough of my surroundings and therefore get really frustrated when I miss some critical game element because it was too dark to see very well, which is what I assumed was happening when I wrote my original comment. If there was more to it, like another area where players actually spend most of the time at, it would have been a lot less frustrating, but I take it from reading the description a bit more closely, this isn't intended to be an actual level with puzzles to solve, but is just a test? If so, it might be helpful to make this more clear, like including WIP or DEMO in the title so people know when they click on it not to expect more.
Cool concept though

Replayed the level and looked at the screenshots. From the screenshots, it looks the same as to me, so there not be a problem at all (unless your screen/system buffs up the brightness for you).

Any who, For the future sake, add more lighting to the places where it is most needed, like near the doors, to give the player a sense of direction. You might know where to go in that darkness because you made the level and played it, but from a players perspective, it is really a walk in a dark.

Good luck

Oh and also my monitor has a very crazy brightness when I turn off eyesaver mode, maybe is that why?
z34chris 14 Jul, 2018 @ 1:44pm
keep at it
KyloX 13 Jul, 2018 @ 11:36pm
2.2 Is the default (which is good). Then my guess would be that your monitor (or system) has a high brightness setting.

Add more screenshots of the map, to see how it looks from your side.
Chill Freeman  [author] 13 Jul, 2018 @ 2:31pm
What does this mean and what should I do to make it suitable for everyone?
Chill Freeman  [author] 13 Jul, 2018 @ 2:28pm
KyloX

It is set at:
2.200000 (def. "2.2) min. 1.60000 max. 2.600000

From the first glance, looks interesting (and spooky), but it was short and wasn't that much interesting (besides the street, which look quite nice).

As others mentioned before, the map is extremely dark, especially in the areas where a light is a must (like indications to where to go, doors and such) and walking around in almost complete darkness without any indications, it can be frustrating.

Probably why it is normal from your perspective is probably the case that you have a high gamma setting on your game or monitor. This can create different perspectives of how the map is lighted up.

What is your gamma settings in-game? (In console, type mat_monitorgamma)
Chill Freeman  [author] 10 Jul, 2018 @ 12:03pm
I really don't get why it's seems like there is no light in your perspectives. I checked, and mines was perfectly fine. I'm trying to find a solution to why there may be no light but I can't find any discussions that deal with this problem or the internet. Is it something with the cubemaps or something else?
drakkensdatter 10 Jul, 2018 @ 9:15am
Yeah, if there's more to it than just wandering around half-blind before falling to the ground level and wandering around 1/4 blind, I can't see it. Like, literally I can't see hardly anything.
Autumn 9 Jul, 2018 @ 7:06am
I mean to the point where it looked like the lighting was never built, like everything was white. This could've been because of other maps I played before this.
Chill Freeman  [author] 8 Jul, 2018 @ 3:43pm
But thank you fo you feedback! I'll make sure'll add more lighting.
Chill Freeman  [author] 8 Jul, 2018 @ 3:36pm
Master_64

In what areas? All of them or just some specific spots? I purposefully made some areas darker than others to add a lonely and uncertain atmosphere.
Autumn 8 Jul, 2018 @ 1:01pm
Looks surprisingly good. No lighting though.
Chill Freeman  [author] 4 Jul, 2018 @ 5:29pm
Note: I've tried my best using only limited portal 2 assets, was kind of a big challenge. So I did something very Half-Lifey, hope you guys enjoy it! :)

PS: I would like to hear all your guy's feedback about this, so I could improve beter!
