it's like giving someone crap for calling the german MK 556 an M416/hk416 instead when they are just the same gun with a few changes
It is the British L1a1 SLR, a British FAL pattern copy (called the inch pattern FAL because the measurments for making it were done in British measurements). Here, since you know guns let me show you some guns you're going to call a FAL and tell you that they're not FALs C:

2. The Imbel IA2, the "Brazilian FAL" or to you, "Just a polymer FAL"

3. The Canadian C2 Squad Automatic Weapon, the "Canadian FAL", or to you "Just a Bipod Auto FAL"

4. The Steyr STG-58, the "Austrian FAL", or to you "Just a FAL"

5. The DSA-58 OSW, the " 'Murican Police FAL now for Civies but with Longer Barrels FAL", or to you "Just a tactical FAL"

everyone: fuk yeah
What? It is a British L1a1 Self Loading Rifle that is a licesnsed British production "inch patern" FAL.
No, no the Wessel isn't
The Wessel is the FAL this is the L1a1 SLR Inch Pattern british battle rifle. Same gun different countries
It is the British L1a1 Self Loading Rifle, a British clone of Fabrique Nationale Fusil Automatic Leger (Light Automatic Rifle). This is NOT the Brizilian "clone" (I say "clone" because it is based off of the weapons in circulation in the Brizilian military : the FAL, M16a3 and the H&K 33) , the Brizilian clone is the IMBEL IA 2. The IA 2 is a select fire battle rifle, the FAL is a select fire battle rifle, the L1a1 is a semi-automatic ONLY battle rifle. The L1a2 is the automatic version used breifly by Canada and Australia.
Um, what? The SIG SG 550 doesn't not look like an L1A1 SLR at all. That is ludicrous, why would it look remotely similar?
