Smallest Plane Ever

I tried it right away and find it very well implemented! 11 Components with radar. If the radar is omitted, the model even keeps the flight altitude constant on its own. 10 components, but better controllable than mine. Okay, you win! :D

Anyway, I tried out this little plane of yours. To be honest, it flies well and good once airborne, but I kept tumbling it forwards trying to launch, even from the Salt Flats.

This is my take on Lathrix's mini-plane, now that we have the Zero Propellers (and they have just been buffed to be twice as powerful!): https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1453795432

Thank you very much for this informations! :)

Ah!... I'd totally forgotten about that, yeah. Nothing posted for the last month, by the looks of it. It's NightbladeGreyswandir's baby, so you're welcome to ask him for an invite.

The main forum is where it's at, as far as I'm concerned. But there's an official Discord too (you can probably search up a link, but it's not properly advertised as yet.

You're not seriously telling me you don't know the groups you're a member of? Today, when I withdrew my application for membership, I saw that you are a member too. But all the better, because then there can only be so little going on that a membership would not be worthwhile anyway. :D

Disclaimer: I'm not Lathrix. ;-)

> Terratech Master Builder group

What is this? (And did you mean to post that message here...?)

In the uploaded version, mine is very well steerable even on the ground and behaves like a real airplane when taking off, and is even equipped with all the instruments it needs. So it's really regrettable that you don't seem to want me in the Terratech Master Builder group. That is why, after a week without a reply, I have now withdrawn my application for membership. But that's all right. Maybe someone sees me as a competitor. Then I'll just keep on fiddling by myself. ;)

The lamp, the radar and the altimeter could be dispensed with in my model if necessary, since they are only mounted for more comfortable use in the game and for better balance/controllability (which in my opinion belongs to "fully functional"). The second wheel is also only mounted for the above-mentioned and optical reasons. That could also be omitted. That would look like this: http://www.bilder-upload.eu/show.php?file=d56903-1532614415.jpg Then it consists of just 10 parts, just like your plane, but mine flies, takes off from the ground without help and is still well steerable. ;)

So, I replicated your little plane exactly in the R&D test chamber. In the game version "Homerun" it can somehow fly without wheels. Not in the R&D test chamber or in the game. Even with the aid of a ramp not, because the propeller cannot rotate in front. If you then mount the wheels, as shown in the video, it is too heavy to be able to lift off the ground. This model doesn't fly with me. Not even if you replace the gyro with a venture rod for weight reasons. But it may be that something has changed in the physics of the game.

Will do when I remember while in game.

First of all, thank you for looking at it. :)

Oh, it's perfectly controllable and even keeps the altitude constant. Why don't you give it a try? :D

Yes, the gyro keeps it upright and it tilts forward a little when taking off, but the gyro doesn't have as extreme an effect on the flight behaviour as I have already experienced with other models. I think your version is cool, because it solves the challenge without Gyro and also looks really good. :) ( https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1402419739 )

And you really saw smaller airplanes, which are nevertheless well controllable?

I've seen smaller. ;-)

How well does it turn and pitch with that gyro? I was going to say it looks like it will tip easyily with such a short length, but gyro will hold it, I guess.

Always nice to have good speed to get around, and those Zero Propellers are perfect for that. :-)
