make the splatter effect WAY smaller
Rocket Pig 30 Jul, 2015 @ 4:54pm
This is awful it makes a noise when it hits other water like lakes and rivers :/
david.c.wilson 9 Apr, 2015 @ 12:48pm
Looks like rain drops which turn into hail ?
jss1138 18 Jan, 2015 @ 5:13pm
I like the idea, but honestly this looks more like hail than like rain. I thought something was broken with my game the first time it.
Paddy the Daddy 22 Aug, 2014 @ 2:23pm
It looks like rain-droplets connected with invisible poles and the the ones on the outside have no collisions so it does this odd rolly polly thing down the hills and roofs.
Screen Lady 19 Aug, 2014 @ 12:32pm
Yeah,Sorta Tone It Dow Just A LITTLE
Otherwise,Great Job!
D3ADTOADKING 11 May, 2014 @ 10:57am
the rain looks good but the droplets when they hit the ground are to bright and look to cartooni-ish and are too bright other than that its kindof a good mod
Princess Fluffernutter 22 Mar, 2014 @ 2:12pm
I like the rain falling but the rolling down the hill kind-of stands out.
CornWALas 20 Mar, 2014 @ 1:06pm
re-name this Hail mod and make it make a sound when they strike the ground and you'll get 100,000 subs.
Mika 17 Jan, 2014 @ 5:04am
Why can't anyone make a mod that makes it so rain doesn't go through tents and buildings?
James 4 Nov, 2013 @ 12:21pm
Arrows hit raindrops... seems legit
Sloth Demon 24 Jul, 2013 @ 4:34am
LMAO i like how the "Rain" :drop:.
oDARKPENGUINo 28 Jun, 2013 @ 11:15am
good idea keep working on it.
Boyboy WestCoast Gaming 14 Jun, 2013 @ 3:23pm
I like the idea but its more llike Hail
'za 24 May, 2013 @ 10:15pm
so wait, does this solve the problem of the rain going through overhangs, tents, roofs, and other things? if so, YAY! finally! if not, this is still cool.
Boodles 18 May, 2013 @ 7:21am
More like hail...
But... yeah...
1ercru 2 May, 2013 @ 7:43pm
is this some kind of joke?
SqUisheR 29 Apr, 2013 @ 3:06pm
hey good effort friend, but this is only in alpha phase in my opinion, I would suggest polishing up the textures on the rain, as well as taking out the circular spinning of the rain. you can see how the rain is grouped and how they rotate in groups. This looks more like hail falling down a hill than rain, but great effort and very close.. well done, but I will not subscribe until some updates are made. -regards...squisher
noo..i dont wanna be a sandwich 15 Feb, 2013 @ 5:05pm
good stuff the rain in skyrim usually kills my buzz when looking for shelter lol hope this changes things and btw some people are just ungratefull monkeys, that talk the talk but dont walk the walk at all,and they should be ignored at all cost
entwaifu 12 Feb, 2013 @ 3:05pm
You know what? I was going to say something about how it does look like hail instead of rain, but then I realized that this is SKYRIM we're talking about. I'm surprised it gets any liquid rain at all.
My only issue with it is that the color is a bit weird, maybe something less purple-y.
tharp76 9 Nov, 2012 @ 6:41pm
Make it look more like rain than hail and I will subscribe
stupid 21 Aug, 2012 @ 2:28am
RunningBare's suggestion is perfect. PLEASE - make a 2D version that disappears upon collision, and then we'll no longer have rain going through surfaces.
Meteodan 14 Aug, 2012 @ 5:51pm
I really like this idea, and I agree (based on the video), that it looks more like hail than rain when it hits the ground. Once it hits the ground it should lose its shape. That said, to those who argue that it should be more "drip shaped", keep in mind that real rain when it is falling actually ranges in shape from spheres (small drops) to hamburger bun shaped (large drops), so the way the author has done it isn't too far off. (Disclosure: I'm an atmospheric scientist who works on computer models and observations of rain).
RunningBare 28 Jul, 2012 @ 5:07pm
Make the particles smaller preferebly a sprite and destroy them the moment they collide with anything, then disable any vanilla rain, kazaam! you got shelter inside those open huts you see around, you don't really need a 3D mesh for rain drops, I don't know how many polygons a single raindrop has but I'd guess a minimum of 8, with 100 rain drops that's 800 polygons, a lot of rendering in a world that already has to render a great deal in the form of trees and other objects.
King 24 Jul, 2012 @ 11:45pm
rename to hail for the win :) jk great idea not so great execution maybe make the droplets explode or dissappear when they come into contact with the ground or objects and spells. Give them drip shape instead of a ball along with a recolor if not make them vanish when they hit the ground idk how to do this or if can even be done these are just ideas.
waffle72 22 Jul, 2012 @ 5:30pm
looks like hail.
Wildcard 19 Jul, 2012 @ 7:54pm
Great concept, however, I can't stay subscribed to this mod.
The white balls annoy me so much. :<
DerAlleinTiger 15 Jul, 2012 @ 12:35pm
As many other people have said (some more blatant than others) this is a good idea for a mod. The physics aspect of it seems to be well-done, but I can tell just from the screenshots that the raindrops themselves look horrible. It looks like they came right out of a cartoon. If you modify the raindrops to make them look more realistic than this would be a sure-fire download.
Acierate 10 Jul, 2012 @ 7:23pm
You should make a hail mod
InfamousLooter 30 Jun, 2012 @ 12:32pm
WTF my gamesave is destroyed because this mod -.- I have done this mod in my game i have play and the window was closed!
Looks like shit.
Old Ned 5 Jun, 2012 @ 11:17am
Nice idea to be sure, but as has been said, even on the mildest setting it looks like a massive hail storm when it's just raining, and every few seconds you here a plop in water like someone just chucked a 5lb rock in there. Great idea, needs work, thanks for the oportunity to try.
spacedoctr 2 Jun, 2012 @ 11:13am
I'm not sure which is my favorite, the fact that arrows and spells can collide with rain drops that apparently have the density of brick walls and miss their targets as a result, or the fact that this oversight is explained away as something that makes the game more realistic. :)

This one needs to go back in the oven or scrapped and redone from scratch with a different approach in mind. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate your gusto, but if this is 'just an experiment' you should definitely phrase it that way in the description instead of telling users it 'adds dynamic raindrops' into the game. Kind of misleading.
Snappawapa 31 May, 2012 @ 7:47pm
looks more like constant sleet to me..
PsychoPsyops 3 Mar, 2012 @ 6:35pm
Behavior is wrong and the ball-like droplets look oversized and discolored.
Equilight  [author] 3 Mar, 2012 @ 2:41pm
Just follow the updated instructions given under USAGE. Then, you can decide on your own how bright the rain should be.
Equilight  [author] 3 Mar, 2012 @ 2:38pm
Thanks for your feedback. Based on the general wish to make the dynamic rain less noticeable, I have added an in-game option to activate transparency.
Dubya75 2 Mar, 2012 @ 2:01pm
This looks slightly ridiculous. Rain does NOT behave like this - hail maybe, but not rain!
Aqualung 2 Mar, 2012 @ 1:05pm
Please add in the description anything that might be GOOD about this mod.
AdamosTomatos 2 Mar, 2012 @ 12:42pm
More transparent please!
RyRy 2 Mar, 2012 @ 10:04am
Good idea, the drops look too bright and noticeable.
Ghost 2 Mar, 2012 @ 8:24am
have to agree with everyone else, this is a really smart idea on your part to be honest and I look forward to seeing what else you do with it (assuming you continue to work on it), shows how flexible the creation kit is
bioscmos303 2 Mar, 2012 @ 7:31am
Nice idea..
BSM 2 Mar, 2012 @ 7:30am
I'd be so into this if the drops looked a little more realistic. I'll favorite it and keep my eye on it though.
WidowMaker 1 Mar, 2012 @ 11:53pm
its not hail its just frozen rain. dumbasses haha
_Wolf_ 1 Mar, 2012 @ 9:57pm
Eh...yea, this is not rain bro. Its ice/hell. Might want to change that name or try something else.
Master Zone 1 Mar, 2012 @ 9:36pm
As others have said, it looks more like hail.
Killer Kal 1 Mar, 2012 @ 4:16pm
Looks too much like hail, but added to favs =)
Bottled Penguin 1 Mar, 2012 @ 3:55pm
One of my biggest pet peeves in games, is the weather going through objects. It drives me insane! Thank you so much for this.
DARIVS 1 Mar, 2012 @ 2:55pm
Looks like sleet or small hail. This looks great in the areas between the forests and the snowbound regions. If it were called "light hail" and it was seen infrequently, I think it would fit in the weather scheme better. Nice mod!
