Why aren't the effects of special projects described in game?
It gets very confusing when you're playing and a tad annoying having to come to this page to check it out :S.

I think that instead of Tali as the leader its should be the 4 admirals of the Admiralty Board Gerrel, Koris, Raan, and Xen

Holy hell, the AI Quarians in my game just jumped from dead last with 115 points to second place with 278 in 5 turns. The hell just happened. o_o

This leader works. There are other leaders that would work for the Quarians too, such as... Well, all of the other members of the Admiralty Board. But Tali is BadA.

@Raslin - The Quarians make the most of out their technology. They salvage what they can and use everything to its full potential, even to the extent that they fill up ships with a much higher capacity than it's supposed to have. They also invented the Geth.

That's the reason why they gain more from research, science should be their main focus, not domination, which would have been the case if they were given something similar to Russia.

The UA doesn't represent the Quorians who are all about recycling and making the best out of the limited resources they've got. The research agreement UA would have been perfect for the Salarians.

So the Quorians should have replaced Russia as Russia's UA of doubling resources fits perfectly with the Quorians.

@Bakerplace - Possibly a conflict with one of your other mods. If you have any that changes the game dramatically it would probably be the one.

@Daren Wasteland - Try following the link for the Mac versions and manually put them in your mods folder. It's not ideal because it wont automatically update, but it might fix your problem.

i have followed all the troubleshooting sugestions and still, none of the races are showing up in the race choice screen
i am getting really frustrated and think i might give up on it

Again, the problem with the Quarians is that they have no early game bonuses. An early game bonus is much more valuable than a late game bonus, because any advantage you can get in the early game can and will "snowball" into more and stronger advantages late game. Their earliest bonus, the boosted Research Agreements, aren't available until Education, and even then, it will take 30 turns (in Standard pace), at the least, for you to profit from them. Until then, they're essentialy a "blank" civilisation, and that's a damn shame. I suggest you move their Science bonus for each city to Writing, though, again, that could perhaps be a little bit too powerful...

I would really enjoy playing a geth civilization, that's my contribution to the suggestion box. Good job on all of the civilizations you've done so far, I mod Skyrim mostly but I can still understand your pains and the toil that goes into such projects. Good luck in the future
