That's odd. The emote sprite isn't gender specific. Could it be the customization options your characters have?

a request: the thaumoth ones are not gender synced, if male has eyelid partially over, female has it partially under, just one off

do you think you could make it so that it doesn't lose the eye color somehow? if you do thanks!

@Cyan Sky Knight Hmm... there seems to be space for another slot, but it isn't used. Maybe there is a way to add one in.. I'll look into that.

As far as I know, each of the four customization options can only change hex values, hair, or facial masks; but not any combination of the three.

Currently I'm using these:
1. Body Color, 29 hex options
2. Fluff Color, 29 hex options
3. Antennae Type (hair), 46 sprite options
4. Face/Fluff Type (Facial Masks), 150 sprite options

If eye colors could be separated from facial masks, there would be only 7 Facial Mask options and 42 eye colors.

The simplest option would be to replace the sprite based Face/Fluff Type with a hex based Eye Color, but then you couldn't select neck fluff/proboscis/eye shapes. Existing characters would not be able to switch to the hex colors without save editing, and would be stuck with the default.

Alternatively if there's any way to reorder the sprite layers for just the Saturnians, then emotes would work and this could be added to the main mod. I think that may be hard-coded though.

Hold on. You do have five. You chose to handle eye color through facial masks. Your stated reason for this was so you could change more than color. But the fluff types which are layered over the eyes thus "changing" the eye shape would be layered over the eyes anyway. If you needed more variety, you could just add more shades to the base eyes. Doing so would also cut down greatly on the amount of facial mask types you needed to create, and this mod could become part of the main one. The only real issue with doing this is that you'd need to enter in a LOT of hex values, which I would gladly do for you if you find the work too tedious.

Please note that this is not supposed to be a criticism, rather it is an offer to help.
My apologies if this comment should be on the main mod.

Actually, that's me...

I wanted lots of customization options. There's only support for four options in the character menu though, but to do everything without any sacrifices, I would need five. (Primary Color, Antenna Type, Fluff Color, Eye Color, Fluff Type)

Damnit, why'd the mod maker have to make it complicated in such a damning way....
Cyan Sky Knight  [author] 21 Jul, 2018 @ 7:53pm
Sorry! The colored eyes in the mod were an image layered over their face. It was the only way I could have both different eye colors and fluff/proboscis. Unfortunately, the emote layer is below that, so there was no way to have both emotes and different eyes.

whyyyyyyyyyyy???? I wanna have my starry blue-eyed moth keep her eye color AND be expressive....

How would they do that if their eyes don't close?

Okay. I was just checking x3

It should be clientside. It doesn't add anything; It only modifies existing sprites. Only those with the mod installed will see it.
