As already stated, the in-game name of the weapon is assault rifle.
That aside, what are you driveling on about ''automatic rifles''? The term assault rifle is MORE specific than automatic rifle, as it serves to differenciate between assault rifles and battle rifles.

@People Like Grapes, an assault rifle by definition, yes because of its fully automatic capabilities, and its design for infantry use, but It's like a company selling their truck, but only telling the consumers that it's a vehicle.

My mistake, the M16A2 is Burst and Semi Auto, this one right here says "Semi" and "Auto" by the selective switch.

It's actually a M16A2, and I wouldn't matter regardless because this is classified as the Rifle in L4D and that's what I'm naming it off of.

This is an M16A4: an Automatic Rifle calibered in .223... It's actions include Full Auto, and Semi Auto... Now you know its propper name instead of calling every black military looking rifle you see, an "assault rifle..."
