Why would Custom Workshop Installer be accessing Microsoft Telemetry?

I guess the antivirus software doesn't even know what the tool is doing.
Apparently there is some proof of concept hack made with the same converter used here, and looks like everything created with that converter gets flagged.
As I understand, the tool mainly copies files from mod folder to game folder, but it also checks and compares content of the files to prevent incompatability issues.
If I understand correctly, sometime it also rewrite code of the files if mods change 2 different blocks inside modded file. It is super useful and helpful for users, because helps to install mods which is incompatible without this installer. This is THE BEST thing for SLRR modding you could possibly get.
Probably windows and other antiviruses are triggered by this behaviour of installer. I dont know fo sho tho. g13ba is amazing modder, who helps me a lot with my mods, I have no doubts in this installer.
yes, there are several virus reports. And you display them to full view.
But what is the explanation for them?
The tool is basically an extractor, right? Why/How is it triggering "false positives"?
TROJAN VIRUS!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't find a link to any source code in your description. Why don't you post the source code to github?
Create new folder, name it "save", put the "cars" folder in it.
You need to keep the game's folder structure. In this case it should be save\cars\database.
I am looking to upload a mod that increases the difficulty of the ai cars, but it is not installing the way I want it to.
What I would like to happen is that the new opponent car files replace the existing ones, but how it is installing is that the database folder with the new opponent cars is installing in the game folder.
Am I doing something wrong? If so, what is the correct way to upload the mod

It seems like Win10 is just very edgy about these detections lately - I've had some simple file manipulation scripts compiled via MinGW accused of the same "Wacatac" trojan lately too, where a simple recompile made the detection go away, even though the resulting binary was practically identical.
So, I'm not sure what changed, but Windows 10 now just instantly deletes this on install, and it's being identified as a different type rather then "Win32/Uwamson.A!ml", it's now showing up as "Win32/Wacatac.A!ml", which when looking up is just flat out a Trojan now.

Since Win10 just eats the EXE instantly, this basically makes the mod unusable for me.
I recommend avoiding this, while it probably is safe, windows flat refuses to allow it at all anymore, so I would save yourself from the time and stress.
"Program:Win32/Uwamson.A!ml" isn't a programm name

I don't know what happend on your end, but the custom workshop installer isn't supposed to do any of such things.
peace out i wont be back ...
Did you read the description, and checked out the virustotal links?

I uploaded the last update of the executables on 1 Sep, 2021. At that time there weren't as many detections, so the av vendors screw something up, or the amount of bad guys who are using the same compiler increased.
In various corners of the globe, Program:Win32/Uwamson.A!ml grows by leaps and also bounds. However, the ransom notes and tricks of extorting the ransom money quantity may vary, relying on particular neighborhood (local) setups. The ransom money notes and techniques of extorting the ransom money amount might differ depending on particular neighborhood (regional) settings.

Would be nice to know what it told.
i tried opening it again and it gave the same error the default installer did.
Default installer, so the one that comes with the game? which error?
i refreshed the folder it was gone
I don't see any other possibily there other than your av removing it.
Should i do a clean reinstall anyway? if i get another conflicting mod do i have to reinstall everything again?
Anyways, as long as this installer doesn't crash during install/removal, that shouldn't normally happen, the game should be fine. Conflicting mods are just mods containing same files, so nothing special there, also unsubscribing has no effect on the game.
When in doubt or if you used the default installer just clean reinstall, see my guides.
