Ah yes, maps (mostly laser maps) where the solution is hidden among many possible paths can feel very discouraging, I understand that feeling all too well. That's not my preferred type of puzzles so you shouldn't find too much of that in my workshop, I believe. Even though you made it slightly harder, your solution still works and contains all the core moves (especially the rescue, which is of course the most important one), so that's no problem!
SpielSatzFail 2 Sep, 2023 @ 10:04am
What a tough one! I didn't make any major progress for half an hour ^^ after another 20 minutes I was out. Oof!
I chuckled about Jorics's comment ("most discouraging map so far") ;D
I also find myself in Narkodes's comment about the guiding thread. It's hard to see where all of this leads to.
When after a long time I finally "rescued" the right side laser cube I was sure I had to perform a cube swap & sacrifice next, but soon I realized I was done :-)
I made the last step a bit harder for myself because I used portals since I didn't see that I could hit the second cube without them to make it way easier. My soluton involved the cube lying on the bridge. I wasn't able to see the exact laser path before PLUS the cube was too high to guide the laser trough the relay and that's why I needed to aim sideways.

It worked after two or three tries.
Thumbs up :steamthumbsup:

@Mr Fab
I thought I had left a comment on your video, but I guess not... Thank you as always!

@cnh2r
This one can definitely be tricky. Well done!
cnh2r 12 Mar, 2023 @ 10:31am
Great puzzle. Very difficult, took me a couple weeks! Thanks for creating
Mr Fab 13 Dec, 2021 @ 1:45am
This puzzle destroyed me but it's a great and complex small puzzle ! Favorited :steamthumbsup:
I also have my blind playthrough if you feel like watching me struggle for 1h35m and talk about weird stuff

@SunnyOst
I watched back my own intended solution video after reading your comment, and yeah this one can be tougher than it looks. I feel like the overall look of the map could use an overhaul too, but that's another story haha. Anyway thanks for playing and for the comment!
SunnyOst 9 Dec, 2021 @ 3:40am
Quite complex for such a small room, I like it! Took me a while to think of putting lightbridge under laser, but then everything went smoothly. Solved the cube catch a bit differently, getting to the top right away and catching afterwards, but overall intended. :steamthumbsup:

@Spider_Dawg
This one is harder than it looks for sure. Thanks for playing anyway!
Spider_Dawg 19 Dec, 2020 @ 7:48pm
Excellent puzzle, which I must confess beat me. Felt a bit foolish after watching the video, since it's really not all that complicated. Well done.
Leo  [author] 25 Sep, 2020 @ 1:23pm
@bullfrog
Thanks! Yep I still like the key move a lot in this one :)
bullfrog 23 Sep, 2020 @ 11:47pm
Still an excellent puzzle. Luckily I remembered the key move so it didn't take too long to resolve.

@hub
Very sneaky, and skillful!

@Narkodes
It's true that there's quite a bit that can be done, which hides the right solution, and it's quite hard to get started. As long as you used the faithplate to destroy the cube and caught it with the bridge, I'd say it's not a major skip. Thanks for playing!
Narkodes 15 Apr, 2019 @ 10:22am
Damn hard imo. I'm missing the "guiding thread", in a map like this nearly everything seems possible and it's very difficult to decrypt the final setting. Despite that being said: very good chamber :3 It was my own fault, I ignored too long that a laser relay and a catcher can be activated at the same time. Didn't think about that functionality until I had both cubes in the light bridge area. Ah, I did the rescue slightly different, didn't use the high surfaces (3x) near the dropper.
A bit more lightsources would be better.
Leo  [author] 3 Nov, 2018 @ 9:13am
That often happens to me too :P thanks!
Libbybapa 2 Nov, 2018 @ 5:31pm
Very good map. I made it much harder on myself than I needed to. Thanks.
kwinten 30 Oct, 2018 @ 11:47pm
@haha c'est juste que de loin on ne voit pas le bassin d'eau mortelle, mais c'était sympa :)
Leo  [author] 30 Oct, 2018 @ 12:36pm
@kwinten
jandlml 6 Sep, 2018 @ 3:37pm
for some reason the laser kept hittting the top of the relay so it wouldnt go through it to the other receptacle. finally got it to work
Leo  [author] 6 Sep, 2018 @ 2:37am
Yeah I think you did it right, sorry if you felt it was too precise. Glad you enjoyed nonetheless!
jandlml 5 Sep, 2018 @ 7:41pm
oh shoot. i needed a tiny hint at the beginning of this one. the aiming at the final step was very precise in order to get both receptacles lit if what i did was right. excellent map!!
Leo  [author] 19 Aug, 2018 @ 2:24am
Oh thank you, I'm glad you liked it. I suppose we all have our own Achilles heel, and as it happens mine might be gel maps!
asears16 18 Aug, 2018 @ 6:19pm
Great map, leomievs, some clever moves used in this one. It stumped me for quite a while (laser puzzles are hard for me for some reason), but I eventually got there. Judging from the solution video I did it as intended. Thumbs up and favorited. :)
Nobody No-One 2 Aug, 2018 @ 1:52pm
Glad to know that I did it as intended. The map gets a thumbs up and favorite from me. Very nice solution.
Leo  [author] 2 Aug, 2018 @ 11:12am
@Joric
True, I was afraid it would mess up the design but actually it's fine. It's now fixed. Thanks!
@Nobody No-One
Also fixed! I just added a faithplate that allows you to go back to the land. Thanks! And I'm glad you enjoyed it. Your solution was precisely as intended, good job!
Nobody No-One 2 Aug, 2018 @ 9:24am
I've been working on this one on and off for a few days not making much progress but today I solved it pretty quickly. I think it's because I'm not as tired. Anyway, I really enjoyed the map. Great puzzle. My only complaint is that you can get trapped on the island with the exit door if you lose access to the light bridge, but I don't think there's a way to fix that.

I recorded my solution; is this intended? https://youtu.be/rNJOExqiNmo
(sorry for low quality)
Joric 1 Aug, 2018 @ 4:37pm
@leomievs glass barrier could work.
Leo  [author] 1 Aug, 2018 @ 10:50am
Thank you for the videos, Joric! This unintended solution bothers me a bit, but seems hard to fix. At least you still need the "rescue". Also, sorry if you felt it was discouraging, I hope it won't happen again with my future maps!
Joric 1 Aug, 2018 @ 4:02am
50% shortcut, very easy to execute: https://youtu.be/MkZ1rno2Otw (map update 4)
Joric 1 Aug, 2018 @ 3:43am
My 2-minute playthrough: https://youtu.be/FQqqML2OCC0 most discouraging map so far.
Leo  [author] 31 Jul, 2018 @ 12:07pm
Dammit I did think of this and placed the fizzler in a way that I thought prevented it! I don't really know how to fix that without messing up the design, hopefully it's precise and tedious enough not to be mistaken for the intended solution. Thanks for playing and for the screenshot!
jgaultney 31 Jul, 2018 @ 9:44am
I couldn't resist the temptation, here's another unintended. Screenshot
Uses very tight angles with the laser and carefully pushing the cube on the right into position. :p
Leo  [author] 30 Jul, 2018 @ 10:34am
Haha your solution was very good, despite this tiny little unnecessary step! Thank you very much for playing it again and for the video :)
bullfrog 29 Jul, 2018 @ 11:54pm
... forgot there was a walkthrough! Yep, as intended, apart from moving the light bridge for no apparent reason XD
bullfrog 29 Jul, 2018 @ 11:43pm
Brilliant puzzle - glad you went back to the first version. Already thumbs up, now also added to favourites - this is the way I did it intended solution ?
Leo  [author] 25 Jul, 2018 @ 10:35am
Thank you for the video! I love how easily you broke it in the 1st solution. Like a boss!
Prototype 25 Jul, 2018 @ 3:03am
Leo  [author] 24 Jul, 2018 @ 11:39am
If you weren't in a good day, maybe it was a combination of both :P
I edited it to make the first steps simplier, which will hopefully help players focus on the main trick. Anyway thank you for playing and commenting!
Expat 23 Jul, 2018 @ 9:48pm
I suspect the issue is more likely my limited intellect, at times...
Leo  [author] 23 Jul, 2018 @ 11:14am
@bullfrog
Apparently you were close! As always, thank you for playing and leaving a comment, I'm glad you liked it.
@Expat
Well it seems so far no-one has solved it all as intended, so maybe the problem comes from the map. I don't think it's super hard, but it may not be very intuitive. I still believe the puzzle is nice, and considering the feedback players seem to find it good too (once they know the solution), so the issue probably is the layout...
Expat 23 Jul, 2018 @ 3:24am
Had to go to the video for this one. I hate my brain sometimes...
bullfrog 23 Jul, 2018 @ 12:09am
... watched the walkthrough; similar to what I did, but I used a very tight angle at one point which, having watched the walkthrough, added an extra step that was unnecessary, didn’t help and didn’t bypass any of the intended moves :( Anyway; that’s my stupid fault - great puzzle and good implementation of the ‘trick’.
bullfrog 22 Jul, 2018 @ 11:36pm
Well I did it, but it didn't feel right...
Mikeastro 22 Jul, 2018 @ 11:32pm
Ah I see - my solution was as intended but of course that jump wasn't even necessary -_- Very good!
Leo  [author] 22 Jul, 2018 @ 2:51pm
In the end I recorded and uploaded the video. It's in the description.
Leo  [author] 22 Jul, 2018 @ 2:21pm
@Mikeastro
Hmm there shouldn't be any tricky jump involved, I think I see what you did but the intended way was easier to execute. I'll upload a video of the intended solution tomorrow to clarify. But thank you for playing and for the compliment!
@PhilFromFrance
