Is there any way to get AI using these to get up close to you? Right now they treat them like a normal sidearm and just sit 15m away from you and swing at the air in front of them.

is there no way to make the animations play without having to insert the code? Could you make it a default for the addon? If so it would be by far the best melee weapon addon in Arma 3 History

Well, I uploaded a screen to show where You have to put the command line, please watch it.
About the damage You have to be very close to damage/kill the enemy and if the enemy has a vest it's very difficult, don't forget these are melee weapons.

also im having trouble with the weapons..they arnt doing anything except making lil dingy noises,no animation or damage..what am i missing? i even put in the init exactly as this says- addEventHandler ["Fired", {_this spawn MEL_FNC_WE}];

@Maxjoiner, yes I hear you, time.... I know how that is, I never have enough, lol!

@Fenix, thanks. Unfortunately I do not use Ace. I like RZaD but most of our missions require Ravage. As far as Vandeansons Apocalypse, I tweaked the values but in the end it still seems the hits and infections/bleeding are still too strong in the zombies favor to risk using melee against them.

I agree 100% though, amazing work was done with this mod!

@Someone Else, not sure about your setup, but you can try to use Zombies and Demons mod, where you can set the amount of health zombies have, this will allow you to 2-3 shot single zombies, also you can tweak the success of the infection (I set it to 5%). if that is not enough and you are using ACE, then you also can tweak player's "take damage" this setup leaves a lot of bruises and low chance of getting infected while slaying the zombies.

Unfortunately I didn't manage to get rid of my previous bug where the aiming is way off the aim, which unfortunately makes this mod not applicable for my complex mod setup. But that's just the way I have it :) The author did really amazing work.

Again, it is not that there is anything wrong with the mod, it is just not worth risking bleeding or infection which is near impossible to avoid in this instance. It is simply better to run away and save the slot for a pistol. I also agree with a previous poster that the melee weapons would be better suited in the launcher slot.

Again, this is all just my selfish reasons in hope of getting things my way. The mod is great and you did amazing work getting it implemented in the Arma engine, that alone is worthy of a medal!!!

The only reason the damage is a problem is I use this mod with Vandeansons Apocalypse . You end up trading blows with a zombie in order to kill it and then regardless of the damage you take, you are pretty much screwed because of bleeding or infection.

I love this mod but it ends up not being of use in this case. It is just that Arma wasn’t designed with this in mind and there are too many factors at play.

I understand the current damage for balance reasons, but against zeds, a single hit with a bat or sword should one shot regular zombies. If a pushback feature was part of the hit it would be a different story.

@Maxjoiner, yeah, there are other mods present, I have now tested it through, apparently it does work, but the aim of the weapon is veeeeery high on the right side, kinda outside of the view area :(

Sorry if this is a stupid question but, how do you get the weapons in game?

Are they in a weapons crate? Do you place them in the editor? If so, what are they listed as because I cannot seem to find them.
