Im not asking for armored monks
I have the imjin Mod on (Korea expanded mod Version 3.2) and a global upgrade mod on, so I don't know whats going on. Just want an answer for my bamboozlement lol
Its just because some mods remove th ability to build an armory, therefore i cant recruit any of the Armored Units?
Should fall under Encampment building upgrades.
The Encampment requires the Heaven and Earth Art technology to be built.
Could you allow me to adapt the units to Master of Strategy mod as a submod? I started modding 3 months ago and it is my little passion. Don't worry about credit, I 'll have your name and mod in the description.
Hope you understand and give permission.
Thanks.
uniform tables directly searchs for variantmodels. so, let's say, you write xxxx there; it then searches variantmodels>units> xxxx.soldier.unit_variant and if you set officer there it also seeks xxxx.officer.unit_variant.
It then non-mandotarily seeks for portraits which are under ui>units>icon,icon_square,info,recruitment_small,recruitment_large and for this example named xxxx.tga
So all in all, you should place variantmodels to make that unit work however if you do not place anything under ui, it will appear as white portrait ingame and does not lead to crash unlike variantmodels.
For other details such as the helmets, mask, and/or bodyarmor, I copypasted that as well, but not before making a new file for it so I wouldn't have to copypaste it from the original UI for the bulletproof yari samurai each time. I than copypasted it to a new layer, moved it around to what I thought it would look best at, and proceeded to erase portions so that it fit the bodyshape of the background layer. I would also copy-pasted portions of the armor into a new layer, resulting in a similar process for the steps I used above, in which I erased portions of the unedited armor layer.
Honestly, it was all just an experiment in ui and messing with paint.net for me. I'm actually still learning some things here or there. Like using an outside palette to get easy recoloring.
I took the unit card, made a few new layers, and worked from there.
For a few unit cards, I copied certain sections of the unit, such as the armor, and pasted it into two layers. I would than use the recolour tool, set to sampling: Secondary Color instead of the default sampling: Once. Than I selected my colors and replaced certain sections of the armor with the color within one of the layers (which shall thus be tagged as edited armor layer, and the other layer as unedited armor layer).
Than I put them as so:
unedited armor layer
edited armor layer
background
and proceeded to use the erase tool to erase portions of the unedited armor layer so that the edited armor layer would show through.
For example, in your mod, you created some armored models of vanilla unit cards. How did you do that? Is that simple "cut and paste" work in Paint.net? or have you used some more hidden functions in the program?
I used a tool called Pack File Manager to extract the original Unit Cards, from the UI folder, before editing them with the program named Paint.net , afterwards I proceeded to add them to my mod via Pack File Manager.
Thanks for the great mod. You said oyu are using Paint.net to form Unit Cards. Can you please tell me how you can do it briefly. How do you extract certain things like weapons from cards and place them in others. If you can inform a little, it would be very generous of you.
The issue with that is that there is no modifier that will affect only affect arrows without affecting stats. Boosting the armor stat would unbalance units against melee weapons, which the horo isn't meant to be used against. The melee defence stat, on the other hand, does jack-shite against missile weapons. The bulletproof modifier might be of use, but horos aren't bulletproof.
So I'm sorry to say this, but I can't make a horo unit mod, unless it's a equipment skin mod.
Anyways, I assume it's time to sate your curiosity.
I'll make armored Ronin when I release an Armored Monks pack. After all, Armored Monks will mosly serve to better empower the Ikko Ikki.
Pretty much. Clans are still required to have the dojos required for units though. So no recruiting Armored Naginata Samurai without an upgraded Yari Dojo and an Armoury.
Beyond that, building an Armoury allows instant access to Armored Yari, Katana, and Bow Ashigaru.
