nwm I just searched Starbound item ID list and found, for example "humantechstation". I guessed Lyceen must be "lyceentechstation" and I was right! :D

@wiimn2 well i mean, this is a patch for build your own ship (BYOS) not frackin races or frackin universe. it's literally 2 text files, one that tells BYOS to accept the Lyceen race and one that tells BYOS which blocks to use for the ship.

honestly i don't actively mod starbound anymore and i'm not going to make a FU compatible version of this. you're going to have to either: get the spawn names for the items you want and spawn the items in, dig into the mod files and make a fix for yourself, or use different mods that aren't incompatible with frackin universe.

I asked Sayter about the issue and they said that the patch may be set up for Frackin Races, which is no longer a separate mod and has been merged with FU.

@wiimn2 sorry i couldn't be more helpful. i've looked at the fracken universe mod files before and honestly i'm kind of a hack modder and understanding their code is beyond me. you could bring it up with them but i don't know how far that'll get you. i assume you were wanting a larger ship, you may consider getting one of the larger lyceen ship mods instead.

I did multiple tests with different characters, with and without the patch and I think it may be an issue with FU.

@wiimn2 does this happen when Lyceen B.Y.O.S. Patch is not installed? did you install BYOS after you stated your current game?

if i had to guess i'd say it's a conflict with FU because they're constantly changing it and making it less compatible with everything else.

as far as the spear goes, that's just a normal quirk of the Lyceen mod, every race gets it when the race mod is installed. when i was making the lyceen race mod i couldn't figure a good way to make sure that the lyceen player received it without giving it to every other race and i didn't really care.

I've been having an issue where the Lyceen ancestral spear is given to me regardless of what race I play as. Additionally, upon ship start up the locker disappears and takes the supplies/FU guide books with it.

now that i think more about it i probably made errors in following instructions, ill tell you if everything works out.

@ChaoticLabCat well that's because there is no option to choose the byos ship from the character creation screen. are you using a version of BYOS that is different from this one?

i'd be willing to add the ability to do that if i knew what version you were using and so long as it doesn't interfere with the original BYOS mod. other wise you need to follow the process described on the BYOS mod page that i linked. that or a few comments down from your first comment i describe how to cheat the ship in, witch can be done immediately after starting the game.

when i open the game and start a lyceen character, it doesnt give an option to choose the BYOS option like base characters do, and when i attempt to break the ship nothing works.

@ChaoticLabCat i'm not quite sure what the problem that you're having is. i had no problems getting the ship to work in testing just now. can you give me any more information about your issue?

@Dym0niter hmm that's a bit of a puzzler. it works fine for me. did you unsubscribe and resubscribe to this patch? that may be the problem.

you don't have to go all of the way to the under side man to test it. just beam down to the planet and type or paste:

/admin
/spawnnpc human outpostundersideman
/spawnitem dubloon

pick up the dubloon, take the quest then turn it in, beam back up.

I did a small testrun with a new character. i restarted starbound, made a new character and cheated my way to the guy underneat the outpost. and when i beam back to my ship everything works fine, except that the ship didnt change at all. its just the regular ship. now i did not do the earchius quest yet. if thats the problem id be happy to do another test

@Dym0niter the problem seems to be fixed, you'll still probably need to remove/backup your .shipworld and shipworld.bak files from the player folder, as per the instructions on the BYOS page, for pre-existing characters. i just flat out removed my ship files and it worked fine. remember to remove any items that you care about from your ship before you mess with the save data or you'll lose them.

Heh... Well I was just mentioning that so that people knew that if your ship gets borked from you trying to upgrade it whilst using BYOS or FU BYOS, then that'd be why

either way, uninstalling this addon gave my old ship back. so at least my character aint borked

@timtee well, i didnt upgrade my ship at all. and i have recently uninstalled FU. should have mentioned that.

@Timtee no something is weird, it happens even on new characters. the tech station is getting duplicated somehow. at least that's what the log says. i think the block key must be messed up.

And with FU BYOS it places you in the ship that comes with that race, but also places every other ship including the BYOS ship for FU. Just a bug that FU has when it comes to the world for the ship bugging out like this, but In both cases, both FU BYOS and normal BYOS do not like you upgrading your ship.

BYOS Specifically does not like it when you upgrade your ship. It has always been that way, meaning that anyone who want's a crew is better off either dealing with being alone, or uninstalling BYOS to have a crew, but no customizable ship. This has been a thing for practically the entirety of BYOS anyways.

hmm, that is strange since neither mod has updated in some time... maybe it's something i did to the lyceen mod. i'll try to figure it out.

so, when i upgrade my ship to the byos ship, i get suck in the warp screen. uninstaklling this fixed my character but it seems that this mod is broken. either this mod is or the original byos is

Well, I tested it, and it seems to work just fine. So yeah, I guess you could just say either use Frackin Universe or normal BYOS depending on what you use mod wise.

that's a good question that i don't know the answer to and i probably never will unless someone tells me that it works or doesn't.

What he is asking is if this is compatible with the FU version of BYOS

@Techno Maestro this allows the use of byos with the lyceen race and nothing else.
