I couldn't finish the last chamber as it makes me feel ill. But I do like the other chambers and exploring. portal orientation . Makes me enjoy this gel more as otherwise I have a hard time with it. Nice map!

i wanna use the adhesion gel outside the map
Prototype  [author] 20 Oct, 2022 @ 7:03pm
@pacmanproductionsz27, there is no crouch jumping required, the solution involves placing portals sideways . If you're still stuck maybe consider watching the start of the walkthrough video?

Why won't it let me get to the door on the first chamber? Like I can't crouch jump

Creative puzzles, which demand creativity from the player. One of the best I played. The only thing that bothers me is length of the level - i had to make 2 approaches to finish the whole level, you could split them in parts (but not too many to preserve continuity between related parts).

thats one sticcy gel u got dere

I have a request can you make this for aperture but replace the speed gel so you can shoot it out of the paint gun

I didn't really like the light bridge levels that much, but the last two had me laughing with joy, they were so much fun!
macihun93 14 Oct, 2020 @ 10:15am
are you planning on ever making any more of these adhesion gel levels? they're extremely cleverly crafted, you're definitely super talented. maybe just tone the hard light bridge puzzles down a little? (that one room where you "fall from the ceiling & bring the bridge to the exit" took me as much time as all other rooms combined.. don't ask why, but it really annoyed me :D ) anyways, amazing level, i recommended it to everyone i know who has portal

incredibly well designed. went far beyond surface level, this really realized the possibilities you can do with this new gel. :p2aperture:

@oyqea NtrTAYnMnt, probably not at the moment, I'm a bit busy. If you've got a particular problem you could send me a message and I'll respond if I have time. Note that I've provided the script and other files in the link above so I'd suggest reading through them first.
oyqea NtrTAYnMnt 20 Aug, 2020 @ 8:04am
Excuse me, do you think you can help me with creating a custom gel?
Kyrius 22 Jul, 2020 @ 3:51am
I really like the mechanics of this but the puzzles were too hard and I couldnt complete it
klaus.sfc01 18 Feb, 2020 @ 3:32am
nice took me 28 mins the last room really (fucked my mind) but nice i favorite it
Teo 8 Feb, 2020 @ 7:23am
Wow, those last puzzles blew my mind. Incredibly well designed
Fleechin 29 Sep, 2019 @ 12:29pm
I gotta say these puzzles were incredibly complicated but very well designed. The idea of doing one puzzle and then the same puzzle with gravity going a different way was absolutely genius. I definitely look forward to more if possible.
lfairban 15 Apr, 2019 @ 11:04am
Old mechanic saying: If at first you don't succeed, try sticking it in sideways. Great Map!
zeo1337 3 Mar, 2019 @ 2:24pm
Despite being nearly devoid of visual appeal, and expiremental mechanics, this map is one of the best I've ever played. Definite favorite.
Mikeastro 27 Feb, 2019 @ 5:23am
I recorded my blind run of your map with commentary (as well as part 1), which can be found here. I really enjoyed both of these maps - excellent work! This one got a fav from me :)
Prototype  [author] 30 Jan, 2019 @ 2:31am
@PieCreeper12, there are console commands '<paintType>_paint_color r g b a' where <paintType> is either 'bounce', 'speed', 'portal'. The colour components rgba are in the range 0-255. There is also a command 'erase_color' but I haven't tested it.

Adhesion gel does not have a unique command to set it's colour, instead the splash effect takes it's colour from speed gel and the applied paint takes it's colour from conversion gel.

Here is a list of other commands you might find interesting [www.dropbox.com]

Hey, what is the code used to turn the adhension gel purple? I would like to know because it'd be cool if I could change the color of repulsion and propulsion gels.

@wildgoosespeeder, thanks for trying it and leaving a comment. The last two rooms (after the fling puzzle) don't use portal rotation, but I'm not sure if you would like them either.

There was the puzzle involving cleansing gel to release a cube in the previous map, but I haven't had ideas for other puzzles using that mechanic that are sufficiently interesting to warrant the effort needed to construct them.

You are correct that portal rotation is an artifact of the implementation, but it raises the question of what determines the orientation of a portal: is it the portal gun's orientation, gravity or something else? Regarding locking the portal orientation, I honestly hadn't considered it. I think it's unlikely I'll be able to implement that cleanly since rotating a placed portal may move part of it outside the portalable surface. I don't think there's a way to check which surfaces are portalable in a script. It would also contradict the behaviour in this map.

I was kind of disappointed and rather frustrated with this map, that I gave up when I reached the fling puzzle. Your first adhesion gel map had some pretty cool concepts I was hoping would be expanded upon or even new concepts be tried. Instead, the last segment of the previous map was the center of focus in this map (which I didn't care for all that much). I feel that this is not what the gel should be used for. Portal rotation is boring compared to having something hanging with adhesion gel and then using cleansing gel to release it so it can be dropped at the proper time. I feel that this portal rotation mechanic is abusing a quirk with your Hammer work how to reorient the player's view to match that of the wall. so that way the ceiling and floor become new walls and the wall becomes the player's floor. If you make a part 3, fix portal placement to be relative to the world's ground and not the player's percieved ground when hanging on a wall or ceiling.

Thanks for the extra headache at the end.
nock 3 Sep, 2018 @ 3:12am
Nice map, although I did break it with walking on the edge of the lightbridge. I'll go back and see if I can think of how to properly do that. Other than that, I thought the final 2 chambers were very cleverly done, despite being the same puzzle, that flip on orientation added a very nice challenge :)

This is great. I love the improved gel engine compared to last time. And the last puzzle was the first time I felt truly disoriented in a portal 2 map. I thought the entrance to it being on the ceiling was just some world-portal fuckery, and I'd end up on the floor when I went through the door... nope.

My favorite puzzles were the puzzle preceding the first one with the cube, and the last two.

I really enjoyed this map; it's a great follow-up to the first Adhesion gel map. My favorite puzzles were the final two; luckily I never got sick while playing. :P My blind run: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--vV3ACRMHs

Very nice map. Great use of adhesion gel with portal orientation and momentum. The difficulty curve was pretty nice, although maybe you could remove one of the early rooms/combine two of them into one puzzle. The last two rooms were my favorites. Thumbs up.
SevenSilhouette 18 Aug, 2018 @ 7:43am
Huge fan of this one. Made me sit and think numerous times through out the whole map.
Prototype  [author] 16 Aug, 2018 @ 11:39pm
Thanks for the comments everyone.

@indifferential, Thanks for uploading your playthrough. I appreciate you not abusing the ability to jump on the edge of the lightbridge, even though you are really good at it.

@jandlml, Thanks for playing and good job making it to the end.
indifferential 16 Aug, 2018 @ 9:30am
Adhesion gel is pretty fun and works as I'd expect. Good puzzles, I like the use of different orientations.

what a super hard test. i got the first room ,needed help with the 2nd and 3rd rooms, got the 5th and 6th rooms with no help. then that final room forget it. i couldnt tell what was up from down ,from sideways. definitely need more practice with this type of concept. great work!!

you didn't create this gel. I don't know why people shall "Credit you".
Prototype  [author] 10 Aug, 2018 @ 6:03pm
@Unowninator, I have added a button, thanks for the suggestion.

@Super Yasen 3000, Sorry about that, all I can suggest is that you avoid any maps using Adhesion gel. I'll add a warning to the description.
Unowninator 10 Aug, 2018 @ 4:18pm
I don't know how, but the cube just vanished in this room. I can't spawn another one or finish the room and had to start over.

Can you please add a button to respawn the cube?
