There is Ztarbound music player standalone mod.
Star-X suggest that if you have Ztarbound it will work on this, I think that will also work.
...But I would assume it is or probably is, as I don't see how it wouldn't be fine to use something like this from the quick-bar, even if the host/server doesn't have it (obviously they would have FU and GIC).
Sir, I applaud you.

It changes the background music. This mod does not affect music played on instruments. If you have both FU and Quickbar Mini, you can click on the jukebox icon (The one that is also the icon for the handheld music player) and select the background music. You could play Atropus planet music on your starting planet for that matter. Also, Frackin' Music goes great with this, but it's not required.

If you're like me, you have a few Quickbar Mini addons. Try opening your Quickbar and scrolling down. It appears on the bottom of my list, so it might be there for you, too
where is it supposed to show up
If you replaced the music, yes. The way those mods work is they add different tracks and have them be the same name as the old ones. When the game calls the files, it just looks for the filename. As long as it is indeed the file and file type it's looking for, it doesn't care what's actually IN the file. You could have Vast Immortal Suns, The title theme for Metroid, heck, even the Barney theme song, and it would still play as long as the filename was the same.
doing so crashes the game
