Sounds interesting and Yoda-wise. What amuses me is, that people think, it supports romantic relationships... because according to the description is the mod for INCREASING SKILLS, not for flirting XD
Since some talks in Rimworld are rather strange (I once had an animal handler, who talked to a tame Thrumbo about sex O.o), the "professional discussions" make pretty much sense. Hope it works as described.

I would doubt that. My latest colony had a new lover relationship within not even a quadrum.

Is there anything about this mod that influences relationships? I've been playing a colony for 3 years in game now, and no new relationships have formed. I don't see why this mod would cause it, but it is the only mod I have installed that changes any aspect of socialization.

With the latest update the XP gain was nerfed and a limit for maximum attainable liking was set.

XP gain is too much, pawns level up way too quickly just by conversation.

Pretty unbalanced mod at the moment, seems like it gives huge, stacking bonuses (over time) to relationships (Social tab, how much X likes Y etc.). This leads to quickly almost everyone having +100 liking (some of my pawns actually have way over 400, due to often working next to each other), meaning that nobody is ever mad at anyone else.

Of course, it's possible that some other mod is causing this issue, but for what I know, I've installed zero relating to pawn's social.

Just wanted to report that this mod works great with a ton of other mods installed including psychology. No idea what JohSmith24601 is reporting but it's not an accurate review of the mod at all.

Idk since it's only skills that both pawns are passionate in, it's likely that your level 5 pawn would have gained a lot of that exp on his/her own. Especially since "a few hours" wouldn't likely result in a lot of conversations unless they happened to be doing the same jobs at the same time in the same area. Unless those few hours were in ultrafast dev mode without any pausing... even then.

Just something to think about.

gotta agree with the poster below, some of my pawns started with 2 - 5 shooting, now after few hours they're like 13 each. can you balance this?

How about some related traits? Maybe one that makes them better at explaining, one that makes them worse, or even to extreme versions of those. The 'very good' at explaining could maybe also get the ability to talk bout everything, not just their passions, but the trait should be veerrry rare.

Ah. Ignore my last comment. My colonist doesn't get relationship bonus because he has a psychopath trait.

Hmm. It's weird. Only one colonist gets the relationship bonus from talking. The other one sits at 0 relationship while the first one has 100+.

Regarding the becoming friends problematic i released a new update which shoudl take care of that. Previously it already worked like chitchat but due to less relative chance for deep talk to happen becoming mates was effectively slowed down.

Regarding 0.18 version. I just looked into it and sadly they changed something about interactions for which i have to find a whole new solution so 0.18 version will be delayed.

I got 3 chars in my new colony. One is a nearly master chef, while the lower is decent at cooking but excelling at hunting... They share the kitchen with butchering (low) and cooking (high).

1) Will the master chef learn about hunting, while they talk?
2) Does the hunter learn double: talking + butchering?
3) WO BLEIBT DIE 0.18 VERSION!?? - just kidding :D

I made some notes and while try this mod as soon as it comes for 0.18. Don't wanna discard 50+ 0.18 mods just for 2-3 0.19 mods. Keep up the good work! Danke vielmals!

Enrak - Character screen, hover over the stat you're raising, make a note of what it is. Watch pawns until they chat, then go back to other pawn's character screen and hover over the stat again to see the gain. Bit of a pain, but it works.

Just out of curiosity, how much of a gain are we seeing?

I am able to see that the pawns talked about a subject but not how much xp is raised (not that it is too important but there doesnt seem to be much info).

Also, I think it would be awesome if you could make this adjustable for either a more subtle change to a game or to make a playthough more laidback experience.

Bub - Mad Skills. And this mod works the same way as regular xp gain, you can only get so much in a single day (says in the description that it respects the daily xp limit).

I have no idea what the mod is called, or how it works as i'm completly lost on what its called and what it does. But would this mod be compatible with that mod that removes the XP limits and all that? I.e theres nothing stopping you from gaining a lot of XP by chatting or working all day?

@Seti @YodaDoge people with shared interests could become friends more easily i think... What about if 2 pawns with shared passion could gain relationship points seldomly as well for talking about skills?

As Seti said, same goes for me. This would be an easy fix. Just add relationship increase whenever they talk about a skill.

so I have two pawns with passion for nearly anything and they ONLY talk about skiils, while it is beneficial, it makes it impossible for them to become friends
