Prince, thank you for taking the time to create this mod. (Didn't want the latest post to be negative).

This mod sort of fucks up shieldwall formations, can you fix it?

Thank you

i have both mods and it works fine. I do not believe I am getting the unit size changes because I have radious mod. But I have formations. And the wider spacing mod.

( w/ regard to the two mods for YOU, though, one may interfere or more likely one will override the other, giving you only the effect of one of the two mods which is loaded first.)

as for the words...to clarify,

you are fine to use both mods, even if the unit formation mod is affecting your unit size, as unit size means the actual size ( numerically/ number of men) of a unit. ]

Unit space is instead the amount of empty space between individual men within a unit, but nothing to do with the number of men in the unit. Just how close the men are / or how far apart.

If I active this mod and the "Unit Formations & Abilities" mod at the same time, then what will my unit's personal space / formation space looks like ? The game will apply which mod? I ask this because the author of "Unit Formations & Abilities" posted a "FAQ" at that mod's discussion page, according to that "FAQ", he said his mod is compatible with "Wider Formation Mod", but I still don't know what's unit's space finally looks like, if I active both mods together. ( Because that mod also changed units' sizes. Does the word "unit size" in that mod refer to the same meaning as "unit space" ? )

Yeah for the most part my card can handle things pretty well it's just that when there's tone of troops on the battlefield it decides to kill it's self in the confusion

Hi! Just stop working! Is there some update from the game?
Dingo 11. feb. 2019 kl. 13:33
I noticed that the shield wall formation doesn't work that good anymore. Soldiers standing idle when their own men crossing the formation. I'm using cinematic battle mod and this.

Thx

more cluster= more CPU hog
less cluster = less CPU hog

they just usually influence a unit's personal spacing mod and an invisible "circle" around them.
Flamininus 21. sep. 2018 kl. 23:42
the speed of welsh heavy horse change from 9 to 10, together with some change on siege equipment. Maybe it's due to the change of older version of vanilla game and the allegiance update.

And could you tell me how the "radius" and "radii_ratio" influence the performance? I'm trying to combine several spacing mods.
Nigerian Prince  [ophavsmand] 21. sep. 2018 kl. 23:22
Radius, yes. Speed? i didn't edit the speed so I don't know whats that on about
Flamininus 21. sep. 2018 kl. 22:04
I noticed that some changes in the "battle entities" table (horse speed, radius...). Is that anything related to the spacing?
Nigerian Prince  [ophavsmand] 12. sep. 2018 kl. 17:12
yes
Ligma Bababooey 12. sep. 2018 kl. 14:56
compatible with radious and other overhauls ?
UCAV 11. sep. 2018 kl. 9:14
Dear Nigerian Prince, Wider formation is indeed more realistic in combat. One question I've read about the holes in the shield wall (which is important in this game ...) which you answered with a negative; the wider formation is imbedded ingame for any formation (I dig that), But is there any chance to give that specific formation another spacing? It would make this mod perfect! Anyways again thank you for this mod.
UCAV 9. sep. 2018 kl. 0:51
Must have mod. More realistic battles between individuals and less clipping of units during the mass attacks; battle animations are stunning now, esp. the one using fists, both on the ground hitting each other, but clearly the one on top has the upper hand. Then the one on his back takes his sword, suprises the one on top, kills him and stands up to look for more targets.

Nigerian Prince  [ophavsmand] 22. aug. 2018 kl. 11:52
yea on second thought i'll change the formation spacing a bit, seems too "orderly"
Appraiser 22. aug. 2018 kl. 11:47
Tested the shield wall with pretty much every unit imaginable and everything appears to work a lot better now. By all accounts the mod appears to work as intended and I'll probably start using it for my next campaign.

The only thing I would've loved to see at this stage is - like I said earlier - a little bit more spacing variation between the units so that they aren't standing around in perfectly symmetrical lines before the fighting starts. That's just my opinion though, if you want to leave the mod as-is, then that's completely fine in my book.
Nigerian Prince  [ophavsmand] 22. aug. 2018 kl. 11:12
Alright i've updated it
try testing it out
Nigerian Prince  [ophavsmand] 22. aug. 2018 kl. 0:05

Nigerian Prince  [ophavsmand] 21. aug. 2018 kl. 23:40
Alright hold on lemme test it
Appraiser 21. aug. 2018 kl. 23:37
I tried it out for a little bit, and while I definatly like the idea of having slightly bigger spacing around units to see what's going on better, I came across a little problem. Chiefly, the current implementation appears to break shield wall for pretty much all units. They will try to get into position, but the larger spacing seems to refrain them from completing the order. Any other problem I have with the mod are strictly preferential - I would have personally cut the current spacing value in half since it's perhaps a little bit too spacey, as well as crank up the spacing variation to make the formation seem a bit more realistic. Do with that opinion what you will.
