I cant edit the name in that about xml.

in the about xml file you can change the name, so it will pop up as a different mod in rimworld mods ingame. Be sure to copy it first to rimworld/mods/yourmodnamehere because otherwise steam workshop will overwrite your changes and auto update it.

Also, can i enable and disable this mod at will or will it ruin saves?
And can this be added to a current save?

You're in the wrong directory. That's for if you're manually installing mods from a non-Steam source. Gonna be looking for "..\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100\1497113878" if you're looking for this mod's files.

I went to the mods folder, but there are no mods in there that i can see.
Only folder is "Core"
In that is just About, Defs, and Languages.

where is the workshop ID?

can you do it yourself if you fancy? :) that'll also allow it to make it entirely to your tastes. If you don't know how to start, then just take the mod files which i made from the steam workshop folder on your disk (workshop id corresponds to mod folder name) and then just toss out the stuff you don't like.
