@tigerfestival1988 Just tested it and yes, but they don't share biomes at all since 2.0 is a complete overhaul. I could update the looks of the skylands to more match version 2's for the worse looking islands though.

Just letting you know I've found a fix for the ocean planets, all it took was adding atmosphere and space height levels to the oceans in terrestial_worlds. It'll be included in Starbound Unofficial Patch hopefully next update so there's no more need for removing anything.

I'm only using TrueSpace and Planet generation overhaul, which is supposed to make planets bigger + more gas giant moons. So it could be either that or it's just vanilla. Since I've checked again and you're right, the clouds do spawn on the ground level of size 8 planets (and I guess smaller). The patch works at that it does though, so thanks.

Made a small patch that removes the skylands from spawning on all vanilla ocean types (ocean, toxic, artic and magma). Should fix your issue, tell me if it doesn't work @FUS

@FUS btw you sure the problem isnt bk3k's variable planet sizes? pretty sure that should be the one making ocean moons that tiny, or a similar mod that changes planet sizes. About disabling their spawn, this mod at least adds them to the default atmosphere spawn so it would be posible to make a small patch file that adds a atmosphere layer default biome and subbiome group to ocean planets specifically.

Yeah you got it, problem is that once I uninstall this mod and visit them on a fresh character the ocean surface is perfectly fine, lol.
Is there a way to disable their spawn on ocean planets specifically? I only care for the load order to not make the game look jank really.

@FUS pretty sure I know what you mean, and tiny ocean moons breaking happens with or without this mod. I remember seeing that long before even making this mod. Could be wrong tho. Without this mod the top of the islands becomes cloud blocks actually and there is a weird water lever thing. Also you might have noticed that surface dungeons like the small island houses spawn underwater in those worlds.

Unfortunaltely this mod breaks Ocean-type moons which I think spawn with TrueSpace (or could be vanilla I can't remember).
Skylands atmospheric level generates way too low on them, deleting all of the surface level islands and breaking water physics in places.

1.- It will affect the planets that do have skylands, as they are a "unique" biome, but I am not sure about what will happen, that said I dont think there will be crashes, and even if they are only on the atmosphere layer of planets in those specific island biomes.

2.- The skylands are a subbiome of the sky, that is, they dont always spawn, and when they do it wont be right above spawn, I recommend using some jetpack/flying tech/vehicle mod and going through the sky layer of multiple planets. If they really dont it might be some incompatiblity with some mod, but that I know there is no such mod that is incompatible with this one.

They seem to also be spawning on planets without aiar, such as moons.

@Kolmannen they are subbiomes of the sky biome, so they might or might not appear around the sky, that said, in most planets you will need to travel very high to even have a chance to find them, the gif you see is made in a small planet and very sped up.

How frequently do the islands spawn? I don't want my whole planet to be covered in land in the sky, but I would still really like this? Do these islands cover around the whole planet, or just occasional islands as rare as floating islands in terraria? (If you still respond to questions)

this seems to affect asteroid belts, a little problematic but at least I can get a sky monkey selling armor, grapes, and ovens

There is already a mod that adds a planet that only has these biomes as its surface, also made by me, that one also has terraformers for the biomes. @Ashtar patch the mod however you want.

I see how it is. There are few floating islands with their own parallaxes. And becides them, more than half of planet's sky is empty. Disappointing a bit :(

Well. It didn't appear on toxic planet that I didn't visit before. But. There was bounty generated there, so maybe that could meddle into world generating process, dunno... Or... well, it could be that I got right into huge void between two islands. Some of than can be more than 1k blocks wide. I'll check it later :)

Well, probably you're right about vehicles mods, I didn't use em because they conflict with Felin mod, but maybe that changed after 1.4 update

@curvedtrees, the starbound planets are made of layers divided into biomes, above the surface layer there is the sky layer and then the space layer, the biomes are generated on new planets in the sky layer by default, so unless replaced (which most planets dont) they should appear on any planet on said layer. You can tell that you are on the sky layer since the parallax (background) of the planet dissapears, leaving nothing but the blue sky, and because there is still not stars visible. I recommend getting a mod that gives you a tech or vehicle that allows flight. Take into account that the biomes appear s minibiomes, so to see the island background you need the mod that enables those, posted above. I also recommend a mod that makes falling blocks not fall, there is a few in the workshop. If you need further help feel free to comment here or message me.

ah, ok, I got there... It took huge tower to reach and... almost wooshed half of floating island because its bottom was loose silt :) Even when I round all the planet with sky halo to build a city, I never get that high, lol :) But well, this can be interesting

Hey! :) Does the mode change just some of planets, not every one in unvisited systems? And how high should I get to see these islands? At least I climbed up to some asteroids above one toxic planet and didn't find anything becides some giant birds...

@Goggles TV just so you know, FU has a thing called BYOS that turns your ship into a editable one made of space station blocks, you might be activating that by mistake, I recommend asking in the FU or starbound reddits with a screenshot, people might know how to help you that way.
