What I meant was, (Since I can't edit my own reply)

Thank you for taking your time to recommend the mod to me and thank you yet again. xD

Oh wow, thank you so much for taking yet again!

You're welcome! Glad to see it's still getting some use. I'll have to admit tho, you might wanna look at LaughingLeader's Weapon Expansion (Beta) instead. That mod is more well done, mine is from a long lost era in which there were no Rapier mods at all and I needed a solution NOW. :)

thanks for the mod!

yeah dyanosis' take was really bizarre
Vorpal Spoon 31 Oct, 2023 @ 1:19pm
Necro'ing the thread here @Dyanosis-
Try putting that on a resume and see the results it would give you. Try applying as a cook at a restaurant and tell the manager "well, I can make eggs and bacon, and I know chicken bakes at 400 degrees for 30 minutes!" and see if they'd hire you.

Try going to an automotive shop, tell the owner you can change your oil and can do a tune-up on your personal vehicle. Then tell him that makes you a mechanic. See how he/she reacts.

Making a mod is one thing (and that I can agree with) but doing something in your personal time doesn't make you a professional, to the extent it makes you professionally credible. No offense, but your viewpoint is a little far fetched.
Lars  [author] 1 Dec, 2022 @ 11:21am
Y'know what, that's fair. Don't really have a good argument against that.
Dyanosis 30 Nov, 2022 @ 9:17pm
No offense, @Lars, but you can't call yourself "not a modder" after having made a mod. That'd be like saying you're not a developer yet you've clearly written code for different purposes (like mods). Just because you don't "do it for a living" doesn't mean you aren't one.

Example: If you cook at home, that makes you a cook. So if you were to say "I'm not really a cook" meanwhile you're at home making beef wellies, you're lying to yourself and others.

If you don't want to be called a modder, then don't write/create mods.

Hiya, PowerElite! I don't really support this mod anymore. Don't think I've heard of that problem before, but maybe some update broke it? I honestly don't know the modding engine well enough to figure this out. This mod is a very patchwork thing I made because there were no alternatives before. Maybe Laughing Leader's Weapon Expansion works more well for you! I linked it a few comments further down. Good luck on your Rapier endeavors!
PowerElite 30 Jul, 2021 @ 2:25pm
My character is holding it upside down. Anyway to fix that?
Lars  [author] 29 Mar, 2021 @ 11:10am
You're welcome. o/
Lizard 29 Mar, 2021 @ 11:06am
Alright, i did the same thing and it seems to be working now.
I simply had to delete and resub all my mods and change up the load order.
Should have probably done this earlier but still thanks for the help.
Lars  [author] 29 Mar, 2021 @ 9:54am
Oh dear. I've tried it out myself by removing all my mods and only starting up this one and it works fine, so maybe that might be a compatibility problem? I'm not really a modder and just threw this together back then because no other mod existed. Nowadays there are some more solid looking alternatives out there, though. While I haven't tried it out myself, I recommend checking out Laughing Leader's Weapon Expansion! Maybe that one will work more well for you. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2250001266

It seems the mod is bugged for me but anytime i find a "Rapier" its just a dagger thats called Rapier.
Thorri 2 May, 2020 @ 12:07pm
You're super super welcome. I never thanked you for making this mod either! It's really what gave me the spur I needed to go to the trouble of making the Duelist mod.
Lars  [author] 30 Mar, 2020 @ 12:25pm
Should be very much possible, yes. It's been a (long) while, so I don't remember the details anymore, but I basically added the model of the Rapier to the randomly generatable daggers. (And swords and wands on the other version). Should work the other way around, too.
Sjur's "Gal Pal" 30 Mar, 2020 @ 11:42am
Going off what you have, would it be possible to make a mod where 1h swords use finesse and not strength?
Lars  [author] 22 Mar, 2020 @ 12:03am
Glad to hear you got it figured out. Have a good time playing! \o/
Theo =UwU= 21 Mar, 2020 @ 11:47pm
Hey no worries! The mod worked, it just didnt like something else I had installed. We got it fixed eventually! :)
Lars  [author] 21 Mar, 2020 @ 8:20pm
Oh dear, I'm sorry about that. Sadly there still are no alternatives out there as well from what I've seen. I hope someone makes a better version at some point. :/
Theo =UwU= 21 Mar, 2020 @ 5:21pm
This mod broke my game. I dont think it plays well with other mods that modifiy the loot pool.
Lars  [author] 31 Oct, 2018 @ 2:38pm
Yep, pretty sure it's as you say, would have to buff all daggers, since this just adds the appearance of the Hallorn's Blade to the pool it might select from when daggers get generated.
shadowfire 31 Oct, 2018 @ 10:13am
Is there any way to make them do the damage of 2 daggers, so I only have to use one? Or would that only happen by buffing all daggers?
Lars  [author] 31 Oct, 2018 @ 7:22am
Sounds like that'd require new animations and all. My skills with the editor are VERY limited and this is just a patchwork thing. So uh, might wanna ask someone with more experience, sorry. ^^"
zylica 31 Oct, 2018 @ 7:12am
just a surgestion.. what about 1handed spear? as spears looks nice and works well with shield.
Lars  [author] 9 Sep, 2018 @ 1:35am
@Headbanger: There are no dumb questions, only dumb answers! The Shiv/Rapier in the GM mode is not exactly easy to find, imo. Don't worry.

@Oracle: It'll work without a problem. Or at least it did in the classic edition. They're merely added as possible randomly generated loot. So whenever you might get a generated dagger, there's a change that dagger will be a Rapier. If you go for the intelligence mod, it might have the Rapier instead of a normal generated wand. I varied their flavor text to make it easier to distinguish them. Looking at their stats helps, too.

@Namble: It might be possible if you know how the Editor works. I'll have to shamefully admit that I do not understand the Editor well enough to make it happen, though. I gave up on trying to do something fancy with it. Maybe, hopefully, someone else will do something cooler with it some time. Sorry to possibly disappoint in that regard. :c
Slothy-Toppy 8 Sep, 2018 @ 11:56pm
Would it be possible to make rapiers a separate type of weapon, as opposed to using the dagger stats? I like the idea of a finesse weapon between daggers and spears, like swords are to strength.
Oracle 8 Sep, 2018 @ 5:05pm
Can we use the 3 versions (str, int, fin) at the same time, or will the game limit the drops to one type?
Headbanger 8 Sep, 2018 @ 3:18pm
Uhm... im sorry for my dumb question. :P
Lars  [author] 8 Sep, 2018 @ 7:16am
You actually don't need any mods for GM mode. Somewhere in the weapons, you can find the Rapiers labeled as "Shiv". \o/
Headbanger 8 Sep, 2018 @ 4:14am
This is a brilliant idea. I´m crossing my fingers this works on GM mode as well.
Would greatly fit into our small party :)
Lars  [author] 7 Sep, 2018 @ 3:03pm
Yay, we got the new things! The moment the new editor was live, I tried to get this ready. :)
Ickleslimer 7 Sep, 2018 @ 2:33pm
My man! I was waiting for this before I play Definitive Edition. Here I go!
