See the notes, most likely one of them will explain why it's not working for you. Otherwise it's possible the file got deleted from your install directory somehow, in which case you can try reinstalling the mod and/or verifying the install via the Steam client.

mod is no longer working

[2/2] If you want to use this mod with a class mod that DOES NOT inject any new abilities to the game: don't bother with that mod in the first place, it's not actually doing anything and you can just make a custom class with those same abilities.

If you want to use this mod with a class mod that DOES inject new spells/abilities into the game, it's a bit more complicated. You'd need to either modify the class presets of that mod yourself, to match whatever values you want, or find a version of that mod that does not modify the presets, so you would then need to pick up those spells/abilities elsewhere (EG through a vendor).

There is no ethical solution to these issues that I can perform on my end. Sorry for the trouble, but that's just how it is.
Arsene Lupin  [author] 15 Jan, 2023 @ 4:06pm
[1/2] Okay, so, this is how the game works: there are no actual character classes in DOS2. When you select a "class" during character creation, what the game is doing is pre-selecting your starting abilities, and it does this by pulling from a table consisting of those "class" tags and listing out selected abilities and available points to spend.

What this mod does is modify that table to adjust those values.

Any mod that injects a new "class" is doing the same -- replacing the same file with a new version, with different preselected abilities. The only ONLY refers to this file once, during character creation. It is impossible for the game to pull this data from two different contradictory tables simultaneously.
HolyCrusader 15 Jan, 2023 @ 12:50pm
This mod doesn't seem to work with Odincore Class overhaul mods even when it's at the bottom of the load order. I don't know if there are any other fixes for this issue.

Rem & Ram mod was the problem for me, so maybe it is a problem for the hypothetical reader in the future. How is the future, reader-man?
Arsene Lupin  [author] 6 Jul, 2021 @ 4:29pm
I can't speak for how other mods work, only this one. Any compatibility issues can *only* stem from other mods also modifying the vanilla presets. That's literally the only possibility--my mods don't touch anything else.
Arsene Lupin  [author] 5 Jul, 2021 @ 6:35pm
Again, this mod ONLY modifies the class preset tables, nothing else. The only way it can have compatibility issues with other mods is if they ALSO modify those tables.
DanNeverSleeps 25 Apr, 2021 @ 8:52pm
nvm, got it to work. just deleted the mods and let steam download it again. i dunno what happened but it works now.
DanNeverSleeps 25 Apr, 2021 @ 8:41pm
Does this still work for the current game version? I'm not getting the extra points no matter where i put this in my load order.
Khronn 4 Feb, 2021 @ 4:25pm
@Roto
Yes it does.
Remember that the way it works is that it edits the vanilla class resets so they start with more points. Mods that change the that make a change to a vanilla present will undo the benifits and mods that add new presents will not get the benefits for the new presets only.

If you use class mods I suggest recruiting them as a a vanilla class but use one of the mods below so they actually start blank and you can build them how you like:

Nevermind, it just kind of worked after removing and re-enabling mods. Not sure why.
Carlton BEaEnkEs, no E 13 Oct, 2020 @ 8:06pm
Does anyone have an incompatibility list? Can't get this to work.
chantzofdeth 12 Apr, 2020 @ 12:03am
Shapeshifting definition edition was discontinued and fenex (i think his name is spelled wrong) continued and expanded upon it. you should download his mod
Arsene Lupin  [author] 28 Mar, 2020 @ 5:49pm
I'm not familiar with that mod, but mind should -only- be incompatible with mods that refer to the class preset tables. Therefore the Werewolf must also contain contradictory preset tables.
Coeal 28 Mar, 2020 @ 4:33pm
Shapeshifting: Definitive Edition seems to be incompatable with this mod. is it due to the added "race", Werewolf?
i have tried disabling all my other mods, just loading up these two, and tried them in both orders. either way, all classes have 0 extra points
Roto 4 Mar, 2020 @ 7:04pm
Does this affect companions?
Shroombert 4 Mar, 2020 @ 6:35pm
Wait is the metamorph class not a vanilla preset?
Arsene Lupin  [author] 1 Mar, 2020 @ 9:33pm
2. This mod should be 100% compatible with any mods introducing new class presets and/or skills. It is not compatible with any other mods that adjust the default class presets, however. Note that you'll have to choose a vanilla preset and then select the relevant skills from the new class mod to be able to access the extra points.
Shroombert 1 Mar, 2020 @ 8:08pm
it doesnt seem to work for the metamorph preset
Saigo 1 Mar, 2020 @ 7:11am
I found the problem : "Ausipicious Begining" is not compatible with "Let Me Build You! ++" and "Refund Race-Based Civil Abilities". But I don't understand why and how they are interferring with each others
Saigo 1 Mar, 2020 @ 6:33am
Hey Lupin, I'm having a bit of a problem. The character I create has access to all the extra points but when I recruit the other characters they don't have access to the extra points. Your mod is at the very end of my mod list.
Arsene Lupin  [author] 31 Jan, 2020 @ 8:57pm
Yeah, sorry, but this mod only affects the class preset files, it can't break your game like that. If you didn't see the extra points during character creation, it's because you either didn't have the mod activated or have a conflicting mod activated, or selected a non-vanilla preset.
Hillnegus 31 Jan, 2020 @ 5:17pm
playing a 2 man solo playthrough with a premade toon "sebille" and this mod gave the bonuses to my companion instead of me and locked my main into never being able to level up my ability point beyond the started 2 points other than gear, also breaks my play thought when i unsub
Arsene Lupin  [author] 23 Jan, 2020 @ 9:20pm
Do you mean it doesn't work at all, or are you simply referring to the new presets not getting extra points? 'Cause that's normal -- you simply have to choose one of the other presets and then customize it to match the Odinblade one you want.
Bowsettes Thighs 23 Jan, 2020 @ 9:08pm
For whatever reason it's also not compatible with Odinblade's Pyromancer and Aerothurge overhauls. Works with Geomancer, Necromancer, and Hydrosophist overhauls though.
Arsene Lupin  [author] 27 Nov, 2019 @ 7:53am
You could try the Lucky Break version for smaller boosts. Otherwise, to modify this mod yourself, you'd need to unpack the gamedata and edit the class preset files (I think they're .xml iirc) and then repak everything. It's not too difficult, and if you need help/advice I'd strongly advice checking out the DOS2 subreddit or discord as there's almost always someone online there who can help.
Averagedog 27 Nov, 2019 @ 6:28am
I like everything about this mod except for the huge boon of civility points. I know I could just respec and elect not to put in the points until I feel they are earned per say, but is there a simple text file or something I could manually change the starting value?
Spiritclaw 26 Nov, 2019 @ 8:03am
so, i checked all mods many times in diffrent orders... nothing worked. Any other ideas?
Spiritclaw 17 Nov, 2019 @ 6:37am
unsure wich ohter mod can be the bad boy here.... but im sure its active and almost at the bottom of the list, so it should work.... but ill check the other mods for similar effects. thanks anyways.
Arsene Lupin  [author] 16 Nov, 2019 @ 12:14pm
Just the usual stuff: you might have another mod active that also overwrites the presets, or you might be selecting a mod-injected custom preset, or you might have forgotten to activate it in the menu.
Spiritclaw 11 Nov, 2019 @ 8:17am
sadly it doenst work for me, any ideas?
Rye Encoke 8 Sep, 2019 @ 2:05pm
@Arsene-Lupin Thanks very much for the response, as well as for the mod, looking forward to using it
Arsene Lupin  [author] 8 Sep, 2019 @ 1:53pm
Yes. It's extremely unlikely that any future updates to the game will ever "break" this mod, as it's a very simple mod that only alters files that are only ever accessed once per character.
Rye Encoke 8 Sep, 2019 @ 9:15am
does this mod still work in Sept 2019
Arsene Lupin  [author] 22 Oct, 2018 @ 2:21am
NP. Glad you could figure it out.
JWASTER 21 Oct, 2018 @ 2:22pm
@Arsene-Lupin Oh I missed that part, my bad..lovely mod btw
Arsene Lupin  [author] 21 Oct, 2018 @ 3:03am
@Casmodius: no idea. I haven't messed around much w/ mods in multiplayer. Sorry.

@LGS sounds like you've probably got a new class preset mod activated, and are selecting that preset for your PC rather than replicating it with one of the vanilla classes. Reead the mod description carefully!
JWASTER 20 Oct, 2018 @ 7:58pm
It seems that instead of going to my main chracter it goes to my companion for some reason
JWASTER 20 Oct, 2018 @ 2:41pm
doesn't seem to work for me even when I put it at the bottom
Casmodius 11 Oct, 2018 @ 3:59pm
is there any way to fix multiplayer not having multiple talents
󠀡 6 Oct, 2018 @ 6:50pm
I think what the user below is talking about is this mod not working with multiplayer. It's happening to me and my friends where only the host will get the bonus in character creation.

Any way to fix this?
Arsene Lupin  [author] 29 Sep, 2018 @ 4:07pm
Thanks!

Hi, Arsene-Lupin! I just RATED UP & Added this mod (and others) to:

Congrats & Thanks for your awesome mods!

Tman 18 Sep, 2018 @ 7:21am
Right okay, thanks man, we all missed the part were we had to choose a vanilla preset.
Arsene Lupin  [author] 18 Sep, 2018 @ 6:43am
I'm not sure what you're referring to specifically, but my mods should work with all of Odinblade's new class mods. As I've stated before, you'll have to select one of the vanilla presets to get the new points, but you can replicate the starting skills of any new class preset in about 30 seconds.
