That is correct. Remember this is a classless game, so all you have to do is look at the modded preset and then customize one of the vanilla presets to match it.

I noticed that this mod would not work if I use a class from a mod. I get 5 civil points for any starting class, but as soon as I switch to "Tactician class" from a different mod, the 5 civil points goes away. It comes back when I switch back to any default class. The result is the same whether I put the mod at top or bottom.

Check the notes in the description.

Loading this mod at the top or bottom of my load order does not appear to work. No changes take place.

I appreciate the tutorial, I will definetely look into doing this later because I am terrified to do it right now but thank you for that ill do it soon ish

Should be pretty easy. If you go to the Nexus Mods' page, I posted a tutorial on how to modify the presets in the description. Just scroll down for it: https://www.nexusmods.com/divinityoriginalsin2definitiveedition/mods/42

Would it be easy to change the values for this mod? I mean im willing to do it myself but I dont know how... Id like to have like 3 starting civil points instead, the 2 talent points is okay too I mean I could do without the spare one for a new run but I just really want lower civil start points :/
other than that though, mod works like a charm
Arsene Lupin  [author] 2 Jan, 2020 @ 9:55pm
IIRC the game only ever references the presets during character creation, so I don't think so, but I haven't tried it myself.
WheresMyCow 2 Jan, 2020 @ 9:38pm
If I have an old save, use this mod, and then respec, will it give me the additional points on respect? I know it only triggers on character creation, but I'm wondering if respec'ing sort of bypasses that.
Fleur 17 Aug, 2019 @ 7:47am
Okay, then thanks.
Arsene Lupin  [author] 4 Aug, 2019 @ 12:56pm
The way the mod works is that it applies the extra points to the class presets, so if you're selecting a non-vanilla preset, you won't get the extra points.

Keep in mind, however, that this is a classless game, so what you can do is take a photo of the new preset you want to use, select one of the vanilla presets, and then adjust the skills/stats to match the new one.
Fleur 4 Aug, 2019 @ 7:39am
Thanks, then it's most likely the second. I'm doing this at creation, so it must be the second. Although I do see the origin characters I get the 5 points when I have them join my party.
Arsene Lupin  [author] 28 Jul, 2019 @ 9:23am
Either:
1. You're loading an old save. These points are only applied at character creation.
2. You've got a conflicting mod activated as well. Any mod that affects the class presets will conflict (E.G. a mod that injects a new class preset where the creator left all the old presets in will result in one file overriding another).

Mod just doesn't seem to work. Made sure its in the right folder and active in game menu. No points have been pre-assigned and respec doesn't help. At a loss with this one.
Fleur 22 Jul, 2019 @ 10:11am
I don't seem to get the extra skill points. I'm subscribed to the mod, have it activated and it's in the right part of the load order, but for some reason it doesn't work.
Arsene Lupin  [author] 31 Jan, 2019 @ 6:13pm
You have to activate the mods you want active via the game's main menu.
ToastyDiet 30 Jan, 2019 @ 6:37pm
Do i need to do more besides clicking "subscribe" to install this mod? It doesnt seem to be working for me.

Hi, Arsene-Lupin! I have RATED UP & Added this mod (and others) to both:

1. " The Definitive D:OS2 Mod List (2018) " :steamhappy:

2. " The Multi-Player Definitive D:OS2 Mod List (2018) " :steamhappy:

Congrats & Thanks for your awesome mods! (Sorry for the spam!)
Arsene Lupin  [author] 21 Oct, 2018 @ 3:02am
@crazycarl39 The game only refers to the class preset filse when first recruiting a companion, and during the initial character creation process. If you activate the mod after starting a new game but before recruiting red prince, red prince will get the extra points, for example.

@FreyaMaluk Yes, but not easily. You'll need to use a utility like CheatEngine.
crazycarl39 20 Oct, 2018 @ 9:54am
does this have to be on a new save or will it work on an existing file?
FreyaMaluk 20 Oct, 2018 @ 2:36am
@Arsene-Lupin when i uninstalled I still had all the skill pints... is there any way to remove the extra points?
Duchess of Kvetch 18 Oct, 2018 @ 9:31pm
On further inspection, companions each get a specific civil ability boosted to 5 points. Beast gets 5 points in Telekinesis, for example.
Arsene Lupin  [author] 10 Oct, 2018 @ 10:04am
I haven't checked recently so I may be remembering wrong, but I believe so. The game will automatically allocate unspent points, so you'll have to respec to reassign them. The reason why the pet pal talent is preselected for every class preset isn't because of anything I do--the game just automatically spends those points, and for whatever reason pet pal is #1 on the list.

I don't really know how to change this.
Duchess of Kvetch 10 Oct, 2018 @ 8:33am
When recruiting companions, I'm noticing this seems to automatically give them 5 Lore points, and isn't adjustable. Is this the expectted behavior?
Arsene Lupin  [author] 29 Sep, 2018 @ 4:07pm
Thank you.
Arsene Lupin  [author] 24 Sep, 2018 @ 3:13pm
The game only references the character presets twice: during character creation and when you first recruit new companions. I haven't tested it, but if you activate the mod -after- starting a new game but -before- recruiting a companion NPC, then that companion NPC should benefit from the mod's additional points. (Ditto for any other preset-affecting mods.)
Coitus Cooper 23 Sep, 2018 @ 12:01am
well the answer is nothing :p
Coitus Cooper 22 Sep, 2018 @ 9:11pm
"at character creation" what happens if i apply this mod after character creation?
Arsene Lupin  [author] 12 Sep, 2018 @ 11:39am
It's w/ the original listing, on the DOS2 Nexus, not the new lilsting on the DOS2DC Nexus (confusing, ain't it?). Here's the link:

https://www.nexusmods.com/divinityoriginalsin2/mods/16?tab=files

Not sure if it'll work with the DC, but if it does, Cheat Engine will edit values "live," so it's the method to use if you do NOT want to start a new game.
JubiLeet 12 Sep, 2018 @ 10:37am
<> If you'd like to be able to directly modify your own character(s) without starting a new game, you can find a tutorial on how to do so in the CheatEnginge Tables file, found in the Misc. section of this mods listing at the Divinity Nexus.

Unable to locate this, do you have a link? Also, does this only work on new games?
atletikus 8 Sep, 2018 @ 5:30am
I would love a mod that increased civil points only from 1 per 4 level after level 6 to 1 per 3 levels.
