it seems having this, weapon Retrofitting station, and the rerelease of this mod by someone else all relate to issues of crashing upon alt-tabbing from the game. i don't have both this and the ability slots rerelease installed simultaneously.

does it work with https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=741491949 the wepon fusion station mod? i LOVE the one-handed broadsword, but using that mod, i cannot use the special ability that i added to it. big sad.

So how does this work? Does it just add extra abilities to my current swords (does it break my game because my current swords do not have this?), is there a mod I need that adds extra abilities?

Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't. Last night I was able to use shift primary and shift special abilities jut fine. Today, shift does absolutely nothing. Un and resubbing makes it work again, but it's kind of a chore to do that everytime I load up the game...

It would appear that this no longer works, probably from the update. I checked my error logs but there were no errors related to this mod, just something about the penguin costume and some doors.

I'm getting a crash on the client when trying to use this on a dedicated server. Switching to the broken Protectorate Sword crashes the client out to the main menu.

Why not make duplicate abilities, only bound to the other slots in code? Like, with the suffix "_sr" and "_sl" for shift right and shift left.

I've noticed a weird animation hang-up with some special attacks.
Specifically with the Super Spin Slash, and a mod weapon's variant of the Charged Slash (which I'm pretty sure is the same, barring sounds and glow effects)

When the slash from the charged slash ends, the last frame of the attack sticks, so the character is constantly holding the weapon in front of them.

With the Super Spin Slash, it's different. The sword hangs after one slash, in much the same way the charged slash does.

Yeah, if this is meant to be for adding other - vanilla - abilities to other weapons, it sadly does not help solve my problem.

Is there any way to attach these modifiers with the Rexmeck Item Editor (a tool that allows you to modify item code while playing the game)?

Any chance we'll see a mod that adds an attack for pressing both attack buttons at the same time (and by extension, shift + both attack buttons)? I'm working on (well, beginning to work on again) a mod that adds a variety of weapons based on Monster Hunter, and am considering eventually adding full MH-style combos, many of which use attacks that involve pressing both buttons simultaneously.

Hmm, I had an error with the 'Energy Aura' on Primary Shift ability. I'm not sure what happened, but when I used it the ability played out as normal, but the Aura itself did no damage and seemed to last forever. I'm not sure what's causing it (or if it's even this mod), but it's kind of annoying.

@Psyny , I did some testing, some magical abilities that I tried to fuze in any slot. By "magical" I mean that ones with special effects, like all two spear whirls or energy trail on greatswords (sorry, don't know their names, playing other language and for some reason can't change it). But abilities that using straight attacks, like spinnig blade, rising slash or spear flurry, working properly.

Secondary ability breaking weapon animation and blocking others till I switch to something else. I have FU and the patch installed.

What's the name of the little mech guy in the thumbnail? Sorry if it's painfully obvious but I usually just make a new character when I beat the story on one, so I don't really pay attention to other little things like side quests or whatever you get that from.

@Avarice, no doubt theres a way to create a weapon generator for Starbound, maybe theres one out there already.

And surely that would help a lot of ppl who just want to create their own weapon from existing presets of weapon skills and stats.

But, sorry... The focus of this mod is just the core code that would allow more features of such aplication.

Hm... While I love the idea of this. Is there any other way to make these items with an intuitive GUI?

Something where you can load sprites (.png) for the visuals, and fill in fields or pull drop-down menus to fill stats; that saves it to a unique item file or the like?

I'll admit, while the code above is helpful, I am a grand idiot when it comes to lua

By itself it does nothing. Its a mod for modders create weapons with more special abilities.
