what would happen if i uninstalled the mod after making retrofitted weapons? would they disappear? the game just started crashing on me.

This mod is much better over the Weapon Fusion mod since it allows for weapon mismatching to some degree, I was able to take the Bluo-Plasma element from one of the guns from MkioTNT Workshop and installed it into an upgraded Plasmastorm from the Wrist Guns mod (I renamed the final build accordingly), that thing should be able to shred vault guardians like no tomorrow.

I need to do more experiments on weapons (I did a test on a rocket launcher and gave it Homing, Guided, and Rocket Burst modes), might be fun to come up with some insane combinations.

The mod works in most cases — just watch for combatibility when merging two weapons. When compatibility is shown as low, this means, the weapons use different scripts, and some of their parameters will not be copied during merging. Two weapons from the same mod and weapon type however will likely merge without any problems. This includes FU, Elithian, etc.

I was 100% channeling my inner bird while messing with this mod because I literally tried adding a f*cking augment to a gun. I'm practically becoming my Starbound character at this point.

I've been doing some tests, and as far as I can tell the main weapon isn't 'absorbing' the stats of the consumed one.

I've been looking at both the tool tip and the info given inside the weapon retrofitting station, and neither of them are changing. When I've retrofitted a weapon, there is an option to pick the stats of either the main or the consumed weapon, but nothing is getting any better than the higher stats of the two weapons. Element and abilities are definitely working.

I will be the first to admit, I have a heck of a lot of mods running right now, so there might be some sort of conflict. I'm also running FU and it's various paraphernalia. Also, some previous commenters have asked for an update, so it's very possible this mod has been nerfed by an outside change.

I love the idea, I'd really like to slowly feed little weapons to my main weapon and get better and better, but I don't think it's working right now. <3 <3

does the weapon still deal elemental damage if i apply a element like cosmic from FU onto a weapon that doesn't have a element despite showing that it deals none element damage?

Either Weapon Upgrade Stations itself, or the Ability Slot Extender and it's FU patch seems to no longer be compatible with FU. Sayter stubbornly insists it never has and never will be, which is unlikely, but at the very least I've managed to track down these mods as being the source of nearly every planet generated by FU causing client crashes with EoF errors. I can only guess that the general cause is when a planet tries to load a dungeon and populates either an NPC or a chest with a weapon that is touched by your mods.

If you're still active, I'd love to see an update to the ASE FU patch.

I loaded up the game just after an update and all of my weapons' shift abilities are gone. I only have the regular attack and the special one :(
I had some vanilla and modded weapons, a sword, staffs, a bow, got rid of all shift abilities on those. When I combine weapons and give them shift abilities, they don't work either.

Please, either fix the Ability Slot Extender for FU or make a standalone version of this mod. This idea is great but not willing to risk using "ASE".

I noticed that while i can still apply weapon altfires, i realized that when i quit my game and then return to my game the (as in closing the application and then restarting it) , the alt fires i placed dont work anymore even tho they should be still there.

Laharl, yes this mod can break special weapons if you try to retrofit them incorrectly; you should not try to retrofit Unique items into other items.

I have ability slot extender installed, but i cant make the shift abilities work. Any advice? If i dont set up a special skill and only set up 2 shift abilities, the weapon just has the original skill that it had, before retrofitting.

I have both weapon stats and the reinforcer installed, so I still see the stats, they're just not correctly updated until I enhance it on the reinforcer again.

I'm using Weapon Assembly + Common Weapon Upgrade System + Weapon Reinforcer along with this, so far it seems like it all works together pretty well, as far as I know.

So far I've combined the looks I want in Weapon Assembly, swapped the stats using this, reinforced it to +12ish, and then upgraded it to the highest level, minor testing shows that the damages are getting changed each step.

not just that but... well i havent tried transfering stats yet, maybe you should try the prototype option first?
