The large amount of jungle is a little blank - mostly randomly placed trees. Not much reason for the player to get lost in. But you can obviously add your own compositions and things. It's large enough to have vehicles, and you can just as well have a modern or WW2 themed mission. As far as I can tell it inherits all the surfaces, lighting, and colors from Tanoa, so don't expect a new look.
I actually just have one "criticism": the fort on the southeast island uses modern metal walkway stairs. So maybe avoid that part if you have the Nassau 1715 mod loaded.
But seriously, if you want a Pacific or Caribbean mission location with multiple small islands and native villages, without extra mod dependencies, I recommend this.
Shouldnt be.
Not planned for the time being.
Just Arma things...thanks for letting me know :)
How would you go about changing names in the first place? As long as its all done within the missionfile you can go ahead and do what you want, no need to ask.
However if you edit the actual files of my map and reupload it with changes files that is not allowed.
Read the logs, usually helps. Other than that make sure there are no errors in the mission, no other missing dependencies and make sure non of the files got damaged/corrupted when uploading them.
It is, i have it running on my own and it works fine for me.
Thanks :)
Oh damn sorry, i totally forgot you made a mission on this. Had i remembered i would have cosulted you about it. My bad.
I do not have the old version of the map around anymore so i cant upload it i'm afraid. Should you still have it feel free to put it up as long credit is given properly.
It's all good I guess, because it wasn't a super popular project. However, it would have been nice to have the original version of your map because I thought it was perfect the way it was.
Yeah on toresk i have it too (as on livonia so i think it may partly be the objects there) but not on this one. Then again it also depends on hardware and drivers etc., so maybe i just got lucky.
In any case it shouldnt make anything unplayable, and if it does its likely related to hardware, missionside scripts and possibly even the amount of mods one may have loaded at once.
Sorry for the late reply.
The map shouldnt have a heavy impact on performance, or at least it doesnt for me nor my friends. While there isnt as many objects as on other maps the density is quite high in some areas, so lowering render distance and tinkering with graphics settings generally may help. Apart from that performance also depends a lot on whatever mission you may play.
Thanks, there may be more to come. At least i have some more ideas.
Really exited for that triple masted ship!!!
All from Nassau 1715. But not all of what you can see there is in the public-build yet, we are however working hard to release it as soon as possible.
You can link it anywhere as you see fit. As long as you do not reupload my work anywhere nor use any of my files as staed above I'm fine with anything. No need to ask permission, though I still appreciate it. So go right ahead :)
I just want to ask your permission to add a link on my new arma 3 mod page to this map.
My new mod is a cannibal /tribal mod and your map fits it very well. I would do a link with credits thanks
More like the stereotype immersion :D
Noted, I may add some small islands as well as more shipwrecks, no caves though as caves pretty much suck in arma. Thanks for your feedback.
Btw those are only some advices the map is pretty good, but in my opinion will increase the Carribean immersion!
We are making good progress on it, so hopefully you'll get to play it very soon.
