Did someone test it with 1.4? Is it still working?
Liwet 18 Nov, 2022 @ 5:09pm
Any reason to pick this mod over Trading Options which has the same scaling option?
Stinky Hellgooner™ McMullen 9 Nov, 2022 @ 12:15pm
So long and thanks for all the mods, take care <3

Thank you for all the great mods.

Thanks KV for all the work with your mods! I hope your life is going well outside of the game!

In the meantime Trader Options gives *somewhat* similar functionality, insofar as you can boost up the trader wealth in relation to colony wealth. Not sure how well it does it compared to Supply and Demand, but at the very least you can manually boost up trader wealth in the late game if it's not scaling high enough.

@Kiame_Vivacity thank you, enjoy your life

After 5 years of modding for this game I am stepping aside. Life has me busy and I will not have time to update my mods. If anyone picks this up let me know and I'll post a message in the description pointing people to the 1.4 version.

So this increases the amount of goods and available silver for Walking Traders / Orbital Traders based on the formula?

Is this compatible with mods such as Traders Have Money by Neceros? (afaik this mod only increases Walking Trader / Orbital Trader available silver)

I like the concept of traders bringing in more stuff to sell. Are there separate sliders for Goods Brought and Silver Brought?
Plutoski 20 Jul, 2022 @ 2:52am
i think yeah you have to, because at 100 percent prices are same as vanilla, i'd say 150 percent is not too op
Lethice 8 May, 2022 @ 11:42am
100% is that just default? so i have to increase it for it to effect it?
KiameV  [author] 8 May, 2022 @ 11:08am
Check the mod's settings and what the multiplier is set to
Lethice 8 May, 2022 @ 4:29am
So.. does anything have to be done for the increased silver to actually take effect? have this 2 million wealth colony with this mod and traders still only arrive with around 500 silver
FarmerJoe 6 Apr, 2022 @ 12:20am
so if I have million in wealth. on default setting how much will the trader bring to sell me?
lekekedesplages 25 Mar, 2022 @ 7:45am
Hey there, first thanks a lot for this mod! I'm having a strange issue where upon scaling, all items brought by the traders don't scale equally... For example I'm ending up with combat suppliers bringing tons of melee weapons accordingly to the scale % but range weapons not being affected at all... Any chance you have an idea where this might come from? :)
F-5E Tiger II 2 Mar, 2022 @ 12:16pm
would a logistic equation also work game design wise.
KiameV  [author] 25 Feb, 2022 @ 3:17pm
Up is more like normal
Lurmey 25 Feb, 2022 @ 2:46am
Poor Kiame, I'm sure the diminishing returns is working fine, and the default scaling is perfect imo. I just suspect the imperial trader wasn't affected by the mod probably due to a conflict. Other traders have come with a couple tens of thousands of silver, and orbital traders, settlements, etc always have plenty. It was just the one trade caravan that seemed out of place.

It's not a huge deal, my colony isn't struggling for silver, just thought I'd mention in case it was a known issue or conflict etc.
bearhiderug 24 Feb, 2022 @ 11:17pm
Slider up or down for more silver/goods?
KiameV  [author] 24 Feb, 2022 @ 8:35pm
You can adjust the scaling in this mod's settings if the merchants don't have enough for your taste
AngleWyrm 24 Feb, 2022 @ 5:52pm
@Lurmey, I am convinced anyone who models diminishing returns only does so under the provisio that they haven't tested their work, and definitely don't have a graph that goes from start of game to end of game showing the effected value. I believe that's true of all game systems engineered as diminishing returns, such as experience points -- where the game has to be padded with special xp drops and level-up quests to make up for it.
KiameV  [author] 23 Feb, 2022 @ 12:49pm
You can adjust the scaling in this mod's settings
Lurmey 23 Feb, 2022 @ 5:27am
I'm not sure if this mod is still working for me? I just had an imperial trader show up with only about 1100 silver. My colony wealth is over 4.6 million, so I wasn't able to sell much to them, even after buying all of their components, advanced components, steel, glitterworld meds etc.

Granted, being able to sell tens of thousands of silver worth of statues and garments is pretty broken. I'm not exactly hurting for silver, but I thought it odd that an imperial trader of all would bring so little..
Delta7777777 22 Feb, 2022 @ 6:50am
Thanks for making this, Kiame Vivacity. It makes perfect sense, especially the diminishing returns since there is a natural limit to the resources supplying the manufacture of goods along with the transportation infrastructure which carries the supplies to your colony, aka the traders.

Also without a limit to inventory growth it would break the game and the game's economy. If you could simply trade all the things you would normally have to work for or wait to sell, the game would become too easy.
AngleWyrm 23 Jan, 2022 @ 1:33am
You forgot to mention why it needed to have diminishing returns. Because that looks exactly like supply getting out of synch with demand, except it was done on purpose instead of because it was hard coded.
KiameV  [author] 21 Jan, 2022 @ 7:50pm
Yes
Pedrin 21 Jan, 2022 @ 1:04pm
save game compatible?
Capataina 15 Jan, 2022 @ 4:54am
Hahaha thanks for the quick answer, sorry for that I thought that setting adjusted the option above it, everything works just fine, great mod
KiameV  [author] 14 Jan, 2022 @ 5:44pm
If you want faster scaling you can go into this mod's settings and adjust it.
Capataina 14 Jan, 2022 @ 6:17am
So my colony wealth is at about 7.4 mil but the bulk goods traders bring me around 20-30 components? is this intended by any chance? I have almost all the researches done and since I am playing with other mods as well (none of them effect traders at all) my overall wealth goes up quite fast. I own about 60% of the map I am currently playing on but I don't see the increase in trader wealth, the caravan traders have about 1-2k silver and orbital traders have 2-4k usually which is vanilla pretty sure
Raszul 12 Dec, 2021 @ 12:36am
thanks for the quick response
i am aware that there are other options for increasing trade ship count and am using those atm.

i was just hoping that there was one that started at vanilla levels (or below) and then automatically ramped up as your wealth increased - it would be nice to see multiple results of ones growth like that (more trades, wealthier trades, traders slowly becoming more/less common (but never totally) depending on the goods you trade in, factions - and through quest non-factions - contacting you for your specialty goods, etc)
KiameV  [author] 11 Dec, 2021 @ 11:53am
This does not change frequency. You can do it manually with this mod though: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1369828656
Raszul 10 Dec, 2021 @ 4:06am
does this also scale trader frequency? particularly orbital trade ship frequency?

after all - shouldn't a rich colony be visited not just by wealthier merchants but also by more of them?
KiameV  [author] 24 Nov, 2021 @ 6:44pm
Yep
Jackwolf 24 Nov, 2021 @ 5:32am
Is this able to be removed from a save? We've been having consistent desyncs since we added it to our multiplayer play through, and it has been continuing even since we removed it on every trader arrival.
SetArk <Nyanverick 07> 19 Sep, 2021 @ 7:53am
Quick question.
Does it works with the Trading caravans generated by RimWar?
KiameV  [author] 6 Sep, 2021 @ 8:28pm
Scales everything
Thundercraft 6 Sep, 2021 @ 6:36pm
I understand that what this mod does is scale trader stock based on colony wealth. But there is no mention of the amount of silver they carry to buy the player's stuff. So...
Q: Does this mod also scale the amount of silver traders carry? Or, should we install a separate mod (e.g., 'Rich Traders' or 'Traders have more Silver') to do this if that is what we want?
