They very often rot away because not being harvest when they are not even ready for harvest...?

is it possible to change the amount of meat i get? it is a rather big amount, and it kind of feels like...cheating to grow so much in such a short time. plus it's planted extremely fast

EAT THE BUGS

Is there a way to prevent grazing herbivores from wanting to eat the grub farms? I know that they are technically plants, with the way they are grown, which is why they can graze. While it's amusingly convenient to have my cows and muffalo grazing on something that grows like rice, that I won't feed my colonists, it's just unrealistic enough to want to ask if it's possible to change, or maybe give a toggle setting to allow/disallow strict herbivores from grazing on the grubs?

(Not that the lack of this will make me stop using this mod. I enjoy the mod, and love growing grubs and hay to make kibble from, for all my critters)

Hey, any chance for a balance patch/mirror mod/compatability patch in the same vein as "seeds please"?
Its a bit too easy to feed my colonists with this.
One suggestion would be to make it so that planting requires a "seed" which can be crafted from any biodegradable material (like plant crops or human meat) which can then be used to "plant" a square of grub farm.

granted, this would eventually become self-sustaining as the colony uses the insect meat to just make the "seeds" used to make the farms, but it think that's a fine way of also lowering the "effective" food production of the farms.

Is there any chance to add a slider to adjust yield?

@Quothcraft Well, honestly I was lazy too! Also, I think it's pretty cool that your mod has the farming aspect to it. In any case, it's nice to see alternative ways to produce meat/protein in the game.

@desrtfox071 I did consider making the mod use a similar method to yours, but Im lazy and went for the easy option my end!
desrtfox071 19 Sep, 2018 @ 2:44pm
I like it. Similar, but complimentary, to my crickets mod.

Thanks, i've been using your grub mod and the knotroot mod to roleplay a mantodean hive and its been really great so far.

They should reset to 30% once harvested, like a berry bush.
Its possible that you have so many of them that by the time youve finished harvesting them all, the first ones have regrown. Ill look into the numbers thought, thanks for the input.

One issue i have been having with this mod is that my pawns prioratize harvesting the grubs, as they stay at 100% grown, rather than planting any of my other crops. Has nayone else had this problem or do i simply not have enough growers?

Grubs > biofuel refinery > electricity. Me like!

"Protein"

Looks like it would go great with a side of cricket jerky. My "prisoners" will really "enjoy" this.

Another neat idea!
